113 was an amazing chapter where all I did was sit back and watch just like Toriko. Jirou was using his knocking tools like guns, insane one sided fight. 20,000 meters is a crazy distance. The impact of him hitting the ground had to be killing blow, doesn't matter to Toriko since he was passed out and a crazy human. Toriko can strengthen up but I worry about Komatsu entering the Gourmet World. I'm sure their next foods will be difficult and interesting even though it's the human world.

I agree about Komatsu. I don't see how he will be able to survive in the Gourmet World without Toriko basically babysitting him. That is not something I want to see, I would rather Komatsu strengthen up a bit so that he doesn't hold Toriko back. Afterall, just going to get the Ozone Herb, he needed a rider suit and that oxygen mask. Sure he is good with ingredients and cooking, but if he went into the Gourmet World, he would get slaughtered even worse than Toriko. Setsuna was a cook, but we saw that she wasn't weak either. She effectively scared off the bishokukai, and is legendary so she is obviously up to the Gourmet World. I want Komatsu to be the same in that he is up to the challenge of the Gourmet World, though not necessarily having Toriko's raw power.

Oh my god. This was the best chapter this far. So Toriko is not ready for Gourmet World because he need Komatsu-kun. So next thing is Komatsu need some training to survive in the Gourmet World. Damn this manga is so great.

It will be interesting to see how Komatsu handles the Gourmet World. I think he will be using his ability to hear the ingredients to help survive in dangerous locations. Toriko was floundering because he didn't know what anything was or how to deal with the monsters and plants around him. Komatsu was the one who figured out the Century Soup, and uncovered the secrets of the Ozone Herb. If he can hone his skills he might be able to keep Toriko from setting stuff off, while at the same time Toriko can protect him from the stuff that needs a good punch in the face.

Those two beasts are the ones that showed up in the original One-Shot. One of them is that bird Gerold that showed up in the Gourmet Colosseum. Though the guy isn't Komatsu, and they even mentioned it in the original ad, Komatsu saying something like "who is that boy, Toriko?". So it seems it's... like based off the One shot.

The movie comes out in March. Obviously a DVD version's not gonna be for 6+ months after that.

Interesting. I'm hoping we really get to see Komatsu power up soon. I don't want him to be Toriko level, but I do want him to be able to hold his own up to level 30 beasts.

At the moment Komatsu surviving in the Gourmet World is, frankly, an absurd idea. I've been saying that he needs Gourmet Cells for ages now, though more for adapting to environments than for any sort of fighting. But the most recent chapter made me realise that there's another possibility (as much as I'd like Komatsu to get Gourmet Cells) - super equipment.

We know the generic equipment can help Komatsu survive in extreme environments, as seen in the Ozone Herb and Century Soup arcs, so it stands to reason that special equipment would be even better. This super knife might just be the start. So maybe half of these requests are designed to improve Komatsu's equipment, instead of all being just to make Toriko level up.

Holy shit, those knives are crazy! Do one mistake, even the smallest, and you would instantly lose a few fingers while making a salad or something.

So, I wonder where is the real Melk. Toriko once again showing that he's pretty smart by realizing that "Melk" is an impostor.

Lol @Melk... it always reminds me of milk since melk is dutch for milk and let that be a cooking ingredient

anyway, you could clearly feel when reading the chapter that something didn't feel right. Toriko must have seen some things. He might be an "impostor" but you never know that he is a student (or like akainu said on irc: Melk's son). Something must have happened with the real Melk

The Melk Toriko and Komatsu are facing now is of the second generation. This Melk's father has not come home for 6 years and it is not known whether he's still alive. It is also not known whether this Melk II is male or female.

The reason Toriko thinks that Melk II is not the Melk he has in mind is because the entrance is so huge, but this Melk is so small.
