父： 毎年よーなんか親子のに水くせえなァ。
Father: Every year, parents and children grow farther apart.

母： いいの！　こういうコトはキチンとね！　
麻子、神棚に御飯。
Mother: It’s all right! That’s just what happens!
Asako, put the rice in the shrine.

潮： おめーがそういって紅白終わったあとに来るから
「ゆく年くる年」見られんかったろうがよ～
Ushio: You say that but after all the festivites, I’ll show you sending out the old year!

早いものでもう年があけてしまった。
The new year seems to have come early.

思えば昨年は潮にとって
また、私にとっても激動の年となった。
I think that last year brought a great upheaval to Ushio
and even to myself.

春に獣の槍を抜いた潮は

数多の試練をくぐり抜けたのだ。
In spring, Ushio pulled the Beast Spear from Tora-dono
And has suffered many hardships since.

あやつは十四歳にしてあまりにも重い運命を負ってしまったのだ。

Boy: I got 580,000 yen! I’m getting a super game RX and a ½ scale super real Gundam!
