Summary and Preview

Kinnukuman (Muscleman): the weak and clumsy superhero you turned to when all the other superheroes weren't around. Though based on Earth, Kinnikuman is actually Suguru Kinniku, the prince of Planet Kinniku, who rules over the Choujin (the Japanese name for "superhero") who protect the universe, yet was abandoned on Earth due to his parents mistaking him with a pig when he was a baby. Though initially starting life as a comedy series making fun of heroes including "Ultraman" and "Superman", the series progressed with story changing from comedy to action as Kinnukuman battles stronger and stronger foes in the wrestling ring. The series was notable for it's fan-interaction through the creation of new Choujin allies and foes that would become part of Kinnikuman's world, as well as becoming notable for a line of rubbery toys which would be notable in the US as the "M.U.S.C.L.E." line.
