I have an Idea to make the translation process faster, if there's more than one translator for the same language, you guys can split the file with the translators.
Naruto_Rocks
English to Brazilian Portuguese
Just some things I'm interested in, however, I'll stick with the original english version anyway, so I couldn't care less. It's a nice idea, but there are some cons, too, and you should be aware of it.
About the community splitting. As long as forums and all the coding blaa blaa stays in english, that shouldnt be a problem. There might be people here who do not understand english and are after international scanlations, so localizing could help them big time.
Just a quick clarification:
The intention is not to localize posts and have everyone start posting in their own language, but rather having navigation menus, profile information, "labels" for data, perhaps even help stuff(dunno about this one yet) in localized language.
The website is still an English speaking website, but having the above available in localized versions can only be a good (and helpful) thing, at least IMHO!
Hope this clarifies somewhat?
What's the point? I mean: 99% of the site content will be in English anyways (news, comments, almost every forum post, an so on...)
If you want the site to have language versions, then its content should be constantly translated.. (and nope, I'm not talking about forum posts ;p) That would mean new staff position - content translator.
Only then "site translation" would have some meaning. // But hey! That's just my opinion :P
Anyways, is it possible to see the english lang file? Applying for translation now, without actually seeing these 1000 lines, isn't too rational - some people might think they can do it, but once they have the task in their hands they might lose their spirit ;P So my point is: It's better to know what you're signing for! ^_^
PS. I could probably help with English>Polish translation... (but I won't sign up before I see these lines ;p)
So I have a question: is therea possibility to see these text, even without any declaration of translating right now? Just to see the text for yourself?
thx in advance for reply
But anyway, it kinda helps there isn't a time limit so everybody can do it in their own pace.
And the localization would help people find the site and use it for finding international scans/trans I'm sure of it :)
In the future, will we be able to see (for example) italian scanlations if we have set up as default spanish?
Thank you, I'll be waiting your answer.
Having two people doing this would help searching for the best translation, especially because we Germans already use many english terms^^
This, I think, is a question many people are probably asking. The answer is simple:
Yes, you will be able to see releases just as you do now on the Live website. That being said, we might be adding additional filters to allow users to default show only one language in the future, but this would be an option the user has to turn on manually on the website, and it would be clearly marked at that.
As long as you credit me for the translation of the site I have no problems whatsoever thanks njt mail me!
Want to mention the translation from Portuguese would be Portuguese-European if naruto_rocks or any other brazilian would like after I submit my Portuguese-European to the site I will gladly share the .csv file with 1000 lines in Portuguese-European so that they can have it translated quicker and easier from Portuguese-European to portuguese-Brazilian you see njt there are some minor differences but still are So I don't know if you prefer to have 2 versions in portuguese!
Anyway contact me
I am half french half american and I've mostly lived in France so I feel pretty confident about being able to translate english to french. (if help is needed in that particular translation...)
Also I'm pretty confident having more than one person working on each lenguage could greatly improve the process, in terms of both delivery times and quality of the translation itself
I'd be happy to sharpen my tranlation ability by this program.
