Who'd ever thought OP would be getting this, in it's earlier days?
That's just to show Oda is the Akira Toriyama of today (Don't even try it. Most of the shounen we have today is thanks to him).
And yes, OP is having one of its best arcs, IMO, Skypiea is better because of its sheer creativity and the epicness of them getting there.

Yeah, this would only be right given that the story is just too awesome for words! Oda is the freak'n man! Best manga out right now and surely for a long time. Oda is going for making the best manga ever in my mind.... he has some serious competition to contend with as some of the greatest have already been completed...but he is definitely going for it!

It's one greatest series ever, so it's no surprise. Personally, I think OP is way better than either Naruto or Bleach.

This is truly a testament to One Piece's evolution.

Many who don't read One Piece look at early chapters and find it too childish compared to recent manga, yet they easily forget that these earlier chapters were drawn in the 90s when Dragonball was still the flavour to be cherished.

One Piece has evolved in all aspects of art, story and production whilst still maintaining the original flair which led to it's unique setting. Anyone who reads manga knows One Piece has a special place in history alongside Dragonball. Whether it has truly surpassed it, only time shall tell.

Seeing so many manga dropt after only a couple of chapters, it's nice to see that One Piece manage to hang on for so long.
Oda's imagination is really incredible !

Haha, OP always rock, so technically this isn't unexpected, but it's still great news ^____________^ Honestly, to think its volume 50, and it's STILL doing this great really show what a genius Oda-sensei is and how truly wonderful the story is (and hopefully, that will make Viz work harder to bring out the english version XD)

Yes and it's not just recent, the story developments have been good for ages!! I've taken some pictures of the JUMP stores at Odaiba and Tokyo station... the OP section is always packed with people! One funny thing, they have the Straw hat crew's wanted posters for sale, and lots of people would take pictures of Sanji's one with their cell phones. Apparently everyone thought that was funny!! XD

as a fan of the series, Its awesome to here this. it just shows that I'm not the only one who thinks one piece is one of the greatest series around.

Just had this conversation the other day, but the reason OP is set apart from today's shounen is because of one simple truth:

Oda already wrote the entire story (outline) before he started. He's just fleshing it out since he's got the time.

Unlike most other titles...which are struggling for ratings by pulling plot-no-jutsu's and opening up holes just for the sake of action satisfaction...sure you know what I'm referring to...

Yeah Oda has come a long way. The bad marketing in the U.S. and the first few volumes have turned a lot of Americans off the series. Such a shame too, I'm sure it'd sell just as well here.

I'll certainly be buying these last few volumes when they're released.
