The history of scanlations has been a long mysterious and somewhat hidden one. Who started what, when, and why are all questions I'm sure some of you have had that have gotten into the scene pretty deep. Well Gum, a very dedicated and hardworking member, has taken up the HUGE task of tracking down old and new groups from the scene as well as official people in the manga business to bring you the most informational site regarding the history of scanlations. EVER.
Things covered are:
1) The first groups.
2) How the scene has evolved.
3) Major contributors.
4) Much much more!
From the heroes and the villains of the scene, to interviews, time-lines, and terminology you might want your friends to know without having to explain yourself, this site has it all. So take a minute and educate yourself about why things are like they are today.
Leave some comments about what you think :). I'm sure Gum would appreciate the feedback ;).

And who's deciding who the villains and heroes are? Isn't it all up to point of view?
Yeah it is^^ they don't say who they are that's up for you to decide :p
Drama section was too short.
Nice work for the guy who did this.
I had known manga scanlation since 2005, used to download it via IRC... But i had always been in the dark on what and how it started.
I kinda feel the shoujo group part is a bit biased :D there are a lot of notable shoujo groups that never mentioned or mention only onced, well they are small or they are dead/struggling by now, or maybe because it is shoujo.
Awesome
