Hello members!

I was just alerted to some fake emails that have been going around requesting for you to click on a link to confirm your account.

The mail that I was alerted to says:

Quote:
Dear Customer,

We have reasons to believe that your account may have been accessed by someone else.

Please click on the link below or copy and paste the URL into your browser:

This email is a scam and was not sent from us.

For further reference to know if a mail was sent from us or not. Please check the following:

1) Are any of the links shortened?
We will not use any services to shorten links.

2) Does it address your username?
We will contact you using vBulletin's mailing list - as such it'll address your user name.

3) Does it look suspicious?
If so, it probably is. Send an email to admin (at) mangahelpers.com to check if it's a legit mail.

"We have reasons to beleive that"

They can't even type correctly, things like that are always in scam-mails, I always noticed typo's in such things.

But then again, "3) Does it look suspecious?". *glares*

Standard advice for these types of E-mails: NEVER use any of the links in the E-mail.

Instead, go to the web site at the URL you have bookmarked and check on your account status there.

Some ot the bogus E-mails can look pretty convincing, so even if you think the message is legitimate it's safer to use the address you have bookmarked for the web site rather than using one in an unexpected E-mail.
