ah... changing the theme... now why didn't i ever thought of that. Silly me. btw, it would be nice if there's a direct link for latest scanlation/ translation, like the old theme. It'll be easier for the translator/scanlator to post their work.

And the links that are in the Manga Nav don't cut it? :3 though, yeah a direct link would be nice hmmm we'll see what we can do :3

i just liked how you had each of th major manga as categories on the left side in the original design...made it real easy to quickly get to whatever section you wanted in whatever manga you wanted...not that this is no good, just that that was simpler

Why was pink chosen as the new color? blue was so much better and how do you make it so that you have the menu to the left again? that was extremely convenient

I really like the change, but I can't use explorer with this new site properly, no problem for me since I use mozilla too, but I just wanted to ask, what the ones with old-explorers should do... download the new expl.?

It is recommended to use Firefox or Opera generally, not just to view MH. Better, faster and safer than IE. And on another news, we are adding the menu into the forum (on top of the boards as opposed to the left previously). We're still doing it, so it might look weird atm. We'll finish it up soon =)

At first i was confused with the layout because i'm so use to the other one. But the more i come on the more it sinks in and i personally love the manga nav and think it works better than the original side panel. I really do like it.

Woot, that does look awesome! One think i'd complain about is the manga nav, took me few minutes to notice it, you should put some flashy color to it (like orange/red) so you now where to quicly start... Edit : oh and a "page up" added to the right clic so you can go up the page, so you can access manga nav quicly without scrolling...

I liked the old site, but still welcome this refreshing update. I definitely like the new Manga Nav (I love discretely checking for RAWS during the workday :D). My only real problem is the text. I find the blue, pink and especially gray quite difficult to read. I think it is likely that other low-vision members are experiencing similar problems. Please consider a darker font or a dark background for future updates. I updated my profile to use the Dark scheme, but that does not change the background color of the front splash page. Thanks!

Oh man - I know how it feels ... I can tell everyone's obviously put in a TON of work - from the art, to the design, to that fancy little pop-up menu you've got going there. :) Tons of work and WOOT! People don't like it. IMO - when I do a design, I ignore all of the "omg nice!" and focus on the complaints. Nodding heads and yes-men get you nowhere. Complaints fix your problems and bring you closer to a better output/result/product. Of the whole navigation thing - the worst aspect that I can immediately point out - is the main set of popular links is hidden. That's a major flaw IMO. Fix it. I see more grey in the design today too - my eyes are 50% happy. Still, it burns. With this bloody monitor I've got "yay, our contrast is OVER 9000!" monitor I've got - it REALLY burns. It's getting there. Perfection is within your grasp. ( -> head on over to the boobies thread if you want to grab some perfection real quick lol. I couldn't help myself there. ) And the brown/tan ... looks sorta like poop. :) Ah, I shouldn't say much. I'm wearing a brown shirt. ---- About the "pink" - I was doing some graphics for a CHICK - and when I presented the finished product ... she said: "Um... I don't know what to say. It's ... pink." ( I was actually in shock. ) Like! Cherry blossoms! Hello? Pink Pink! Dangit ... we went to a dark-brown/ivory style color scheme from there. :( And the flowers looked so nice.

My first thought about the new layout was "awful"! I guess I became too much used to the last one, hahaha. The day after that, I started to look more carefully, and found out it is much better! It is more beatiful and more interactive, and easier to navigate (altough I'd really appreciate if that tab with all the mangas that was at the left bar reappered, it was easier to look for the mangas that I was looking for). Nice work, you all! Keep up the good work, the new look was a great idea!

it looks nice, one thing i think that would be useful is to have the latest scanlation, translations raws clickable so that they go straight to the forum list.

RE 2: Viewtiful's comment: Personally, had I been the one to do the design, I'd make a thin bar under the navigation bar - in a different color - with the main categories (Naruto, Bleach, OP, Seinen, Shonen, etc) & drop down menus. It sounds like it's "busy" - but - I see about 12 extra pixels that can be shaved off the "Navigation" bar - and the "popular sections" bar can be made very slick, so it fits nicely. Putting popular stuff 3 menus deep - is asking for confusion (and less traffic.) Sure, having multilevel menus is cool & takes skill to set up -but- it's not cool to draw quick traffic & optimize usage. Popular stuff should be *bam* right off the front page with zero brainwork involved. That's my personal design style. Now, if the techies are feeling industrious - ;) How about a "MyMenu" set in the profile instead of the MangaNav. THAT would be cool.

KyanWan a "my menu" thing is planned for since a while back, we just have not had the opportunity to do the coding behind it. It's a pretty extensive project to add while doing it properly, although it doesnt sound like it. Btw... I'm working on a massive improvement for all! ~

lol, the first time I saw this site after the revamp I thought someone had hijacked it, or the domain name expired. I mean, the top navigation bar, combined with the font and color, reminded me of those temp sites that are placed when a domain is taken over. It just had that "mundane template" look :( Don't know what I can suggest other than do something about that navigation bar as well as pink logo. Thx for the hard work though :D

First of all I'd like to state that I've always appreciated the great service Mangahelpers provides to the fan community. Your website has kept me up to date on everything concerning mangas for quite a while! That being said I must admit that I was grossed out by the new design of your site - at first glance it looks like advertisement for teenage girl jewelery. Furthermore the site completely lacks lucidity; I didn't have any clue how to navigate and how to find the stuff I'm interested in. Well, that's my - rather personal - opinion.

RE: Nimloth -- Don't need to say another word to me. I know all too well. Gah, try managing a commerce system where you've got to take PCI (*Payment Card Industry) standard into account when doing any system & interface changes. That's *my* job. I know ALL too well. Adding nice "Web2.0" features -sure- I know how nightmarish that can be too. Ugh, the main site I maintain - I "advanced" our GUI and added features.... it's nice, but it's so complex that ... I forgot how to update it. T_T (What's worse - is I WROTE IT LOL!)

For a second, I thought the domain for MangaHelpers expired and turned into some fruity blog >_> It's kind of hard to navigate around the website, but it seems like I'll get used to it :D

What works of those scanlator/translator/leecher pictures from?

They are from random original arts. Can't remember exactly from where. But the leecher image is from Yotsubato, iirc.
