Two Japanese Films in the Running at Annecy 2011
"Colorful" and "Tibet Inu Monogatari" make the in competition category at French international anime film festival Annecy 2011. From the 6th to the 11th of June, an international animation film festival called Annecy 2011 will be held in France. The official selection for full-length feature films has been announced. 9 movies were selected for the in competition category and 6 were selected for the out of competition category, all from a pool of 64 nominees.
Representing Japan in the in competition category is Director Hara Keiichi and Sunrise's film "Colorful" and Director Kojima Masayuki and Madhouse's "Tibet Inu Monogatari". Furthermore, in the out of competition category, Director Kurosaka Keita's "MIDORI-KO" and Director Morishita Kouzou and Toei Animation's "Tezuka Osamu's Buddha - Akai Sabaku yo! Utsukushiku -" will be screened.
"Tibet Inu Monogatari" had also been introduced at Annecy 2009 under the "Work in Progress" category, and is now running for an award two years later.
