Man Arrested for Uploading Copyrighted Content 38 year old caught uploading games, anime, manga, and obscene videos.
Police arrested a 38-year-old male company worker from Nishinomiya City on Wednesday on suspicion of using the file-sharing software to upload Nintendo DS games online without the copyright holders' permission. According to the Association of Copyright for Computer Software, the suspect uploaded Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations, New Super Mario Bros., and Mario Kart DS around July 14. He allegedly uploaded about 1.6 terabytes of games, anime, manga, music videos, and obscene videos. The suspect was also arrested on Wednesday for allegedly distributing child pornography via Share.
Sekai-Ichi Hatsukoi's 2nd TV Anime Season Sekai-Ichi Hatsukoi has 2nd season confirmed for October.
It has been decided on who will produce the music for the anime's opening & ending. For the ending music, the artist was decided that "Sakura Merry Men" will take the position. For the opening music, the artist will be "Shuhei Kita." Starting October 2011, Sekai-Ichi Hatsukoi's 2nd season will once again appear in front of everyone. The media distribution site Crunchyroll has been streaming the anime 1st season outside Japan since it premiered in Japan TV broadcast in April.
The main story follows the tension between a newly recruited manga editor (Takashi Kondo) and his tyrannical editor-in-chief (Katsuyuki Konishi) — who happen to share a common past.
Legend of the Millennium Dragon Trailer Streamed Onigamiden, latest by Spriggan's Hirotsuga Kawasaki, ships in October on DVD/BD
An English-subtitled trailer for Legend of the Millennium Dragon is now posted on the internet, the film originally called Onigamiden in Japan. Sony Pictures (Japan) streamed the original Japanese-language trailer, without English subtitles, in March. The American distributor arm of Sony acquired the film, and it will release the film on October 4 in a standalone DVD and in a Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo pack.
Produced by Studio Pierrot and directed by Hirotsugu Kawasaki (Spriggan), the story revolves around a 15-year-old boy who travels back in time — over 1,200 years ago to the Heian period — and faces a war between oni (demons) and humans in the former Japanese capital of Kyoto. The anime adapts a 2004 two-volume novel from author Takafumi Takada.
Touhou-Based 'The Memories of Phantasm' Anime Streamed Fan circle Manpuku Jinja posts 16-minute anime based on Touhou Project games for free
The dōjin (self-published) circle Manpuku Jinja began streaming the full "Gensō Bankakyō ~The Memories of Phantasm~" ("Kaleidoscope of Illusions: The Memories of Phantasm") Shunsetsu Ihen no Shō, the anime that the circle created based on the Touhou Project games, on Tuesday. The circle had just released its full 16-minute anime at Comic Market 80 on Saturday.
The anime features numerous characters from the dōjin shooter video game franchise Touhou Project, including Reimu Hakurei, Yukari Yakumo, Marisa Kirisame, and others.
JManga Site Launches with Works Never Printed in U.S. JManga.com is finally launched
JManga, a platform for reading legal manga online, was finally launched on Wednesday with titles that have not been published in English before. Among the new titles are the first listing of Macross Frontier material in the United States, the manga Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru, and Crime and Punishment (Naoyuki Ochiai's re-imagining of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novel classic that is inspiring an upcoming live-action film). There are never before seen interviews that Jmanga is posting on a monthly to weekly bases. Jmanga claims to build an interaction community (similar to facebook/twitter) for manga fans on their site - to build global interaction fan base between authors, artists, publishers and fans.
Aquarion Evol's Sōsei Trailer | Streamed Sequel set 12,000 years after Shoji Kawamori's combining robot series
The Japanese production company Media Factory began streaming a 70-second "Sōsei ver." trailer on Friday for Aquarion Evol, the new television anime series in director Shoji Kawamori and Satelight's Aquarion robot anime franchise. The trailer was shown at this past week's Comic Market 80 event in Tokyo.
The story of Aquarion Evol will take place 12,000 years after the first Aquarion television series at a city modeled after Hong Kong. A new cast of characters, piloting a new Aquarion robot, will fight enemies from another dimension. Kawamori has hinted that the characters might be reincarnations of Apollo, Silvia, and the other characters from the first series.
Milky Holmes Anime Gets 2nd Season in January 2012 Bushiroad's Detective Opera Milky Holmes already has 1 TV season & special.
The public relations department of the game company Bushiroad announced on Saturday that production on a second season of the Detective Opera Milky Holmes (Tantei Opera Milky Holmes) anime series has been green-lit. The second season will premiere on Tokyo MX and other television stations in January of 2012.
The Milky Holmes television anime series and detective romance adventure game follow four budding female private eyes. The website Crunchyroll streamed the first anime season outside Japan as it aired last year. A television special was already green-lit for this summer.
Black Rock Shooter gets anime On January the anime is set to be aired.
A short advertisement during the broadcast of Japan’s Noitamina programming block (which is currently airing Bunny Drop and No.6) revealed that a Black Rock Shooter television series is set to air in the timeslot beginning in January. Animation production is being handled by Studio Ordet (who also handled the production of last year’s Black Rock Shooter OVA episode) but the other staff have yet to be revealed.
