One Piece Mangaka, Eiichiro Oda, Gets Death Text Messages

Eiichiro Oda, Mangaka of One Piece received around 100 text messages to his mobile phone from September 2007 to December all with the message "Die. Die".

The culprit was apparently a previous assistant drawer's wife who held a grudge for her husband getting fired.

She was arrested on the 7th of this month.

My opinion:
I kinda understand how she could be a bit upset. I mean, I'm sure she bragged to her friends about how her husband was working on the greatest manga in Jump but... To then go and send death threats? >.> She's now my own personal enemy >.>...

She is now my enemy as well. Screwing with Oda is bad enough but messing with him is messing with One Piece and I'm not gonna tolerate that. Plus Oda seems like a pretty cool guy from the interviews I've seen. I'd like to know why the woman husband was fired though.

Imagine... for more than a whole year you get messages like this... o.O That must've been hard on Oda-sensei :S
Good thing everything has been settled.

And yeah, I understand she was upset, but I think there's a line we won't step over and she just did it. She needs to get a life as someone before me commented. (Well, I guess... after getting out of prison...)

Not a smart move o her part. She would get than threats from all of Oda's fans if she was ever stupid enough to act on it. There would be an army against her.

Oda is like a mafia Don, unless you wants countless acts of retribution he is to remain untouched.

I think that we need to be fair. I really want to know why the lady did that and why Oda fired his assistant. I like oda, but I really want to know the reason why she did that. Maybe the rumor about getting fired by Oda caused the assisant being rejected everywhere. And they're having hard times to live.

About Oda, he can always change his cell phone number, if he ever receive sms like that.

Thank good-ness nothing serious happened. You never know what someone who threatens you might do now a days sadly. Oda probably feels sad for the woman as well. Hopefully after an apolgy from her to Oda she can go back to a normal life...

Personaly I feel sad for the woman, even more for her family to go through all the shame and embarrassment, after her husband's firing to now all this media attention they're going to get.

Wow, now that's taking things to an extreme... I mean, even if they did do something bad, I don't think sending death threats is very sane....>__________> To send it for a year is just batshit crazy O_O

I just hope that her sentence will be harder, than the one she would get here in germany... normally some days of social work.

From which chapter is that color-spread? And yeah... One Piece is the greatest manga in Jump.
