Holy Brownie is a compilation of short stories centered around two creatures Piola and Fio, servants of God. Their appearance resemble dolls and are able to travel to different points in time, past, present and future to do work of God. Each chapter follows their mission to use their powers to take over human beings to do seemingly impossible things, usually involving giving life to something inanimate or dead.

Piola is a ill tempered character who disagrees with some of the missions she is assigned because it involves immoral or obscene subjects. She expects her missions to be happy ones like making flower gardens but instead everytime she is paired with Fio, she is forced to see questionable images. She takes her anger out on Fio, the calm yet bad mouthed character in multiple hilarious ways, including slicing her with a razorblade, burning her with a blow torch and stuffing her inside a beaker.

Reading this, you may think that Holy Brownie is a dark manga but in truth, it is very funny. The reaction of the characters to each mission is brilliantly hilarious and will have you glued to the pages for hours.

This is what tethysdust said this week:
Lots of interesting manga this time! Of the ones I read, I was struck by how strangely serious in tone both a Methed to make the gentle World and Akatoki Residence were. Unless the way it's written changes very drastically, I don't think Methed will go the ecchi/harem route. Douken - Nanohana Koukou Douga Kenkyuu would, I think, be pretty fun for anyone into reading about romance and people aspiring to be animators. God Seeker-- I believe she isn't a tsundere, unless she's keeping it well hidden . Monochrome Myst seemed pretty promising, as did the Unstable Castle of Tokarev. Again, the serious atmosphere of Unstable Castle makes me think it probably won't dissolve into a generic ecchi/harem type thing.
With a new manga magazine (Dengeki Daioh Genesis) starting its publication, we got a lot of new mangas starting in addition to a bunch of 'older' mangas that are newly uploaded to the site (thanks to NFKira). Since we had so many new mangas uploaded to the site, like a few times this has happened before, we're splitting up the article so you're not overwhelmed with all the new mangas (or so we say...). ^^;; We just need more time to write all the summaries so look forward to checking out the rest of the new mangas in 2-3 days time~

Anyway, quite a few of the mangas piqued my interest in this shout out. For Akatoki Hoshi Residence, who would claim to be an alien to get divorced? Well, the description sounds interesting and I'd give it shot if it's scanlated. I'm on the fence on whether or not I'd check out Ashita no Kyouko-san. It reminds me a bit like Hajimete no Aku or something familiar... I just LOLed at the premise for Cherry Paradise - Million Paradox. Who'd think that a robot would protect a boy's virginity - that's just too hilarious, although it'd probably be full of ecchi fan service... >_<. Ah~ the sister in Good Seeker looks like such a yandere in that cover shot~ I'd check out that series just for that reason alone; well, I'm pretty willing to check out any series that has someone wanting to take over the world. ^_^ Mousou Kikou - Adolescence Avatar sounds a bit too like a Suzumiya Haruhi manga rip-off, although I'm interested in how his imagination is going to ruin his life. =P
