  3. Publishing Status (+ Number of Volumes/Chapters)

This is what tethysdust said this week:
Quote:
Not much to say this time. Kami Yome and Tama Riba seem to fill this week's cute requirement. Vanilla Spider was interesting, but it has kind of a weird combination of serious and absurd.
Here's what vyc had to say:
Quote:
Loved the series this week. Great new series waiting to be picked up. Winners Circle - college kid who has no direction goes into horse gambling and is really good at it. I like the idea, the comedy is good, the romance part doesnt interfere with anything and I feel like I will learn about horse racing from reading this.

Tsukimi Soba - plays on the idea that the moon is inhabited by bunnies. Romance comedy. Isnt too mushy so everyone can read it.

Sins - new series of elementary school kid fighting supernatural beings. I hope it gets picked up as a series and not just a one shot. The drawings are well done, comedy is good and overall plotline has a lot of room to expand.

Monster Hunter - imagine your old school RPG characters coming to life in a manga. This is exactly what that is with dragons, warriors, weapons and action. Loved it.

Tenshi no Frypan - cooking series about a genius kid and the harshness of the cooking world. I feel I will learn a lot about cooking from this. Informative and interesting. What better combo?

My opinion:
I'd check out Hishintan since there are so few european historical manga. The idea behind Meteor-san Strike desu! sounds interesting, although I'm less inclined to check it out due to it featuring pervy tests... Tamariba sounds like a cute romance, and we can always use more of those manga being scanlated. :p Probably the manga I most want scanlated is Winner's Circle e Youkoso due solely on the fact that it's from the mangaka of Liar Game. I hope it's as interesting as Liar Game, though, since it's currently on hiatus...

Translated items that need some love/scanlation:
myao - Circle Game: Chapter 1

Hishintan seems to be the only series that catches my attention.
The fact it has a big breasted woman at the cover of the page, and it seems to be action-packed. I love seinen series like this.

Monster Hunter: Senkou no Kariudo, and Tsukimi no Soba also seem interesting.

Monster Hunter is one that I'll read for curiosity... but actually is just curiosity.

Maybe I'll read Tsukimi Soba...

By the Way, SINS artwork reminds me of Magico... :P

What's so good about Monster Hunter that it's so popular and has so many spin-offs and whatnot?
