Kyouko: If you don't use the kanji for 'Ignorant masses', no one will get what you mean.

(TN- First of all, I'm not sure if that's Shizuka or Eiko, though the way she talks suggests that it's Eiko. Second of all, she uses the hiragana for 'Gunmin' (Ignorant masses.) in her speech, and Kyouko uses the kanji. I guess if you (could) read that sentence in Japanese it would be hard to understand what she meant without looking it up, while with the Kanji it makes a little bit more sense.)
