The traitorous samurai took the opportunity of Japan's opening to the world to stage a revolt against the Bakfu. They all united under the same flag as patriots and made their move.

The relations with the Amanto only got worse, and we the supreme power at the Baku ended up getting into a long civil war with the samurai.
