Are you guys punishing me for complaining about late raws by giving me unreadable ones? O_o I think i damn well went blind tonight! Gintama's bad enough by being wordy.....

In any case, happy fifth year anniversary Sorachi! And i'm celebrating a year of translating Gintama weekly! It's been a lot of complaining, hard work, complaining, sacrifices, complaining, and complaining but I'm here! And it feels damn good! Gintama's the reason why I picked up translation, and I thank everyone from MH for getting me raws (eventually) to Sorachi for making a manga interesting enough for me to pick up a Japanese dictionary and struggle for six hours on a school night through lesson 56. XD Lets hope that 2009 is the year where Gintama makes it big!!

CARDBATTLE?!

Announcer guy: The rules are simple. Using Otsuu-chan’s image, you will use cards to adjust attack points, or defense points as you battle.

Shinpachi: SINCE WHEN DID AN IDOL’S CARD HAVE THAT FUNCTION?!

Announcer guy: This is the Rising deck, and you can use strengtheners in tandem to increase your chances of victory in battle.

Shinpachi: I’M ASKING YOU! WHY ARE WE FIGHTING WITH OTSUU-CHAN PICTURES?!

Announcer Guy: Both combatants will be given 2000 life points, and allowed to use a card each turn.

As the battle rages on, LP will slowly start to diminish. Whomever reaches zero first loses, and their team will be disqualified.

I should add that we will not be supplying you with cards.

As fans, you should already have the materials ready to make cards of your own.

Using the merchandise that you have, it should be simple enough to grasp victory.

Announcer guy: And the leader of the Tsuusengumi Tosshi, makes the first move!
His first card is ‘Raising the curtain from 5 minutes before curtain time!!’

(Black box- Raising the curtain from 5 minutes before curtain time. Before going on stage life in Kaguya…Otsuu sits at the counter afraid of going out in stage because her favorite drink isn’t being served. (She’s waiting for Kimura to show up.) AP 460 DP 3.)

Shinpachi: WHAT THE HELL KIND OF CARD IS THAT?! WOULD AN IDOL OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER WANT LITTLE DETAILS LIKE THAT KNOWN?! MOREOVER WHO’S KIMURA?!

Announcer guy: And now the manifestation of Tosshi’s attack will make it’s debut!!

Lady: YOU HAVE NO PERMISSION TO COME IN KAGUYA!!!

Shinpachi: GYAHHHH!!

Announcer guy: Shimura-shi has no defense against the attack of Otsuu-chan, who bursts out in anger! But is there any defense for something like this in the first place?

Shinpachi: WHY DOES THE ATTACK IMAGE LOOK LIKE THAT?! IT’S THE SAME AS BEING ATTACKED BY AN ACTUAL PERSON!!!

(Sfx- ORRAAHHHHH!!!)

Shinpachi: MOROVER WHO THE HECK IS THAT?! THIS GAME’S GOT ONE TOO MANY BUGS!! THIS PERSON ISN’T OTSUU-CHAN AT ALL!!

Announcer guy: And now it’s Shimura-shi’s turn. If he doesn’t act quickly, his precious LP will take a massive hit!!

Gintoki: Shinpachi!!

Shinpachi: Gin-san! Just in time!!

Shinpachi: WHO IS THIS?!

(Black box- Bass player Kim. A member of Otsuu’s other band Oh! Two. Plays the bass, although in some rare cases, will use a castanet.)

Shinpachi: WHY DID I GET SUCH A PLAIN LOOKING CARD?! MOROVER WHERE ARE THE ATTACK POINTS?! DOES IT DO SOMETHING SPECIAL?!

(Black box- The mole is in fact drawn on. The reason being that it made him stand out from all the other mystery men in audition. (The name Kim is derived from Kimura Motarou.)

(TN- I can’t read the first name on this scan, so don’t harp on me for accuracy.)

Shinpachi: SO THIS IS KIMURA?! THIS IS THE PERSON THAT THE OTSUU ON THE EARILER CARD WAS PISSED AT?! WHY WOULD HE GO AS FAR AS DRAWING A MOLE TO MAKE HER NOTICE HIM THEN?!

(Black box- This card has no AP or DP, as it is an assist card. At this time however, all it ‘helps’ is the irritation Otsuu’s card feels for being left behind earlier. Because of this her AP goes up to it’s max.)

(Black Box- Raising the Curtain five minutes before curtain time. AP 920.)

(Handwritten- Hey what the hell do you think you’re doing with that mole? Are you trying to stand out from me with that sketch on your head?!)

Shinpachi: …Huh?
(Sfx- Dokaa *Smack!*)

Announcer guy: And Shimura-shi’s attack fails!!

It seems that this was a bad place and a bad time to draw a card such as this one! It only powered up the opponents card, leading to a defeat and loss of LP!!

Kagura: Shinpachii!!

(Sfx- Pori pori *chew chew*)

Gintoki: What are you doing idiot?!

(Handwritten- I’d better go back and get more beef flavor…)

Announcer guy: Morover, the support card ‘Bass Player Kim’, cannot be recalled for five turns!

If Shimura-shi doesn’t want to lose this battle, he’d better call out a card with attack points quickly!

(Handwritten- Hey Kimura! Take your ass back home!!)

(Sfx- Guii *reee*)

Hijikata: Is this really the time to hang out?!

(Sfx- Guaaa *wiffff*)

Hijikata: My turn! I’ll school you in how to use an assist card correctly fool!!

Announcer guy: It’s the card ‘That day!’

(Black box- ‘That Day’. All the female cards in your deck become agitated, and as such their AP goes up 3 times starting the next turn. This card cannot be recalled.)

Shinpachi: WHAT DAY IS ‘THAT DAY’?! IF IT’S WHAT I THINK, CAN WE REALLY CALL THIS AN IDOL CARD GAME?!?

Announcer: With the card ‘Bass player Kim’ bringing out her bad side, and the card ‘That day’ agitating things, Otsuu-chan’s irritation grows mighty, and Shimura-shi’s hopes for victory have taken a turn for the worse!

(Sfx- ORAAAAAHHHHH!!)

(Sfx- ZUN *doom*)

Announcer guy: Whoa!! Her attack power is 2760 now!! She now stares down at Shimura-shi with no remorse! With nothing to defend him, she can now take him down in one mighty blow!!

Shinpachi: GUAHHH!! There’s got to be something here!!

Come on! I need a good card bad!!

Shinpachi: Uh…Gin-san, Did you get Otsuu-chips?

Cause it really looks like you got Kimura-chips instead…

Shinpachi: ANOTHER WORTHLESS ONE COMES UP!!!

(Black box- ‘Drum player Kiyoshi’. The drums player of Otsuu’s other band Oh! Two! Though on occasion, he’s known to play the tambourine.)

(He and Base Player KIM were friends, until a certain day in a pizza parlor in Kaguya, where their food mysteriously vanished, leading to the fight that split them forever.)
Shinpachi: IT SEEMS MORE AND MORE THAT THIS KAGUYA INCIDENT IS TAKING OVER THIS GAME!!

(Black box- The pizza card brings back bad memories, and henceforth they cannot become allies..)

Shinpachi: WHO CARES?!

(Black box- Stylist MIYABI. A rotten stylist. While at Kaguya, she forcefully styled Otsuu’s hair, and ate some of her food before disappearing to never return. She’s Otsuu’s greatest foe.)

(Black box- Using this in tandom with Otsuu’s Kaguya card, the AP and DP go up by 1000.)

Hijikata: The buck stops here.
