[Side text: His dreaming self should be undetectable. Yet the eyes of this woman see Watanuki's figure clearly.]
Watanuki: (Is there someone behind me...?!)
Woman: I don't think... / ...there is anybody behind you.
Watanuki: (She's not simply sensing my presence. // This woman can actually see me.)
Woman: Is there something you want?
Watanuki: No, ah... / I...
Watanuki: (She isn't just "seeing" me... / She can hear my voice as well... // I don't know why, but now that I have met this woman here... // If I wake up now, I have no guarantee... / ...that I will be able to enter this room again afterwards...)
Watanuki: (The Crimson Pearl is here; that much is certain. // In which case...) // I'm...
Woman: Are you a friend, then?
Watanuki: ...A friend of who?
Woman: Of the person who lives in this room.
Watanuki: ...Do you not live here?
Woman: I am being allowed to stay here.
Watanuki: ? / You're injured...
Woman: So I am.
Watanuki: And this room... // Why is it...?
Woman: Well, I have tried to explain... / ...that lashing out in this way is a bad idea... that it will do nothing but cause meaningless pain... but...
Watanuki: ...You don't mean... // Those injuries of yours...
Woman: Yes... // I have tried to explain that it will bring pain, but...
Watanuki: ! // That's just...!!
Watanuki: ...I got too excitable and woke myself up...
Watanuki: I managed to pass through the dream... / I managed to enter the appropriate room... // ...If I made a mistake, then I should have some kind of injury... / ...but there's nothing. // Still... // That woman saw me, and spoke to me.
Watanuki: Is this because of the item the Jorougumo is seeking...? / Or else... // That woman......
Watanuki: What is it? / Maru, Moro.
Maru/Moro: Do you mind if we talk?
Watanuki: Not at all.
Watanuki: Come on in.
Maru: You have a phonecall.
[SFX: patter // patter]
Watanuki: Oh? From who?
Watanuki: I see. / Is she on the line waiting for me?
Watanuki: Thank you both.
Himawari: Good evening, Watanuki-kun.
Watanuki: Good evening. / Himawari-chan.
Himawari: Were you sleeping again?
Watanuki: I'd just woken up.
Himawari: Work, then?
Watanuki: Mm... yes. // But I've been up and about a fair amount today. / I had things to mend, and such. // How about you?
Himawari: I'm at university.
Watanuki: I see. // Your university is pretty far away. / It gets cold up there, so make sure you keep warm.
Himawari: Don't worry. // I've been wearing the gloves that you gave me.
Watanuki: I'll make another pair. / Doumeki can take them to you.
Himawari: Doumeki-kun is busy too, isn't he? / He has his folklore fieldwork to deal with...
Watanuki: He says he'll keep it up until he feels like stopping. / Running errands for me.
Himawari: Sounds like the two of you are getting along as ever.
Watanuki: We are not! / Not at all!
Watanuki: Never have been, never will!
Watanuki: Well, until he starts complaining, I'll keep using him for all he's worth.
Himawari: ...I suppose there's no chance of you giving them to me in person.
