Afterword

This is the second volume of Nononono.

Before serialization, I went to take a lot of pictures for reference. I even bought a single-lens reflex camera for that purpose!! I believe I took thousands of photos, mainly in Nagano and Sapporo.

Even after taking so many pictures, when I actually started the manga, I didn't even have one single shot of the jump ramp from the angle on the next page! I was really in trouble. Because of my tight schedule, I didn't have time to go see the real thing for myself, so I had to piece it together from many photos using my imagination.
I can't go collect information often because of the weekly serialization, but when I do have to go, I have to do things like going all the way to Shinkata at dawn to watch the inter high, or taking a day trip to Hokkaido to interview ski jumpers in the morning. It is very lonely work. However, if the manga stops, I will no longer need to collect data, so I will try very hard for it to not happen.

This volume didn't have much ski jumping, but volume 3 will be full of it.
