Script Note: Hmm, my head hurts; I've been knocking back asprin since last night and the bugger won't go away. Anyway, I hope I did the script justice here since AkiDot's away for Spring Break. I'll get around to posting Translation Notes here and there in a few minutes or so. Oh yeah, I haven't done the fanning lines just yet; maybe later? Catch you guys with more updates in a few.

Also, don't crosspost this script. Just link back to it so all the edits I make after the initial posting are made clear.

Let's see if bolding this request will help. *crosses fingers* Oh, and the BF and NF kids are exempt since they usually do a good job of updating their posts.

煽り:元柳斎より直々にもたらされた緊急報告!藍染の恐るべき計画が、今明かされる・・・!!

Hitsugaya: ...Aizen's... true aims?

Yamamoto: Indeed.

Orihime: ...Ah ...Th- ...This sounds really important, so... I should take my leave!

Yamamoto: ...Wait.

----- Page 02 -----

Yamamoto: This revelation will involve humans as well. ... You should lend your ear to this.

Orihime: ------Okay...

Bleach c223 - The Scarlet Creation
煽り:一人の夜━━考えてしまうことがある。考えてしまう人がいる・・・
表紙はバーのお姉さんみたいな乱菊。

----- Page 04 -----

Yamamoto: ...It has now been a month since Aizen's departure. Since then, we've built up an idea of what Aizen was doing at 5th Division HQ. Furthermore, we know where under the Central 46's main chambers in the Seijoutou Kyourin he had been lurking. The results of our investigation into the Daireisho Kairou are forthcoming.
_________________________________________________
Translation Notes: For those of you who don't remember, the Seijoutyou Kyorin appeared in the last arc as the area beneath the Central 46 Chambers where the politicians resided when not working. It's also infamous for being the site of Aizen's betrayal of Hinamori, owning of Hitsugaya, and revelation to Unohana and Isane.

The Daireisho Kairou is the Great Spirit Record/Library, presumably the summation of all knowledge accumulated by Shinigami over the history of their existence. Think of it as a huge library; it also appeared in the last arc as the area where Aizen stole the knowledge regarding Urahara's procedure to implant and extract foreign objects within souls.

_________________________________________________
Yamamoto: It's been difficult to continue however, since there are significant limitations to analyzing the area. Only I alone have the ability to bypass those restrictions.

Hitsugaya: The introduction was nice, Commander; now, the big picture---

----- Page 05 -----

Hitsugaya: If you please.

Yamamoto: ...Well... Ukitake has directed the survey of the Daireisho Kairou, and he's found something strange.

Yamamoto: The Hougyoku was only affiliated with one record, the research data compiled on it. However, two days before Aizen escaped, records completely unrelated were also removed.

Hitsugaya: ------...And they were...?

----- Page 06 -----

Yamamoto: About the "Royal Key."
_________________________________________________
Translation Notes: You may also see this term referred to its romanization (Oukagi) in future translations. Depends on whether or not I choose one or the other. Of course, I'll notify you guys if I do.
_________________________________________________
Hitsugaya: !

Orihime: ..."Royal Key"... may I ask what it is?

Matsumoto: "The Key of the Royal Family"、it's just what it sounds like.

----- Page 07 -----

Matsumoto: Soul Society has a royal family. The King of Soul Society leaves state affairs to the Central 46 because he does not wish to dabble in politics, in fact there hasn't been a Captain who has seen him in person.
_________________________________________________
Translation Notes: The way Rangiku says it is probably the official and proper term for the "Oukagi"/"Royal Key." In Japanese, it'd be the "Ouken no Kagi."
_________________________________________________
Yamamoto: The natural way to address him I suppose would be the "spirit king;" a symbol of Soul Society itself, an absolute being. His domain exists in another realm within Soul Society, safeguarded by the Ouzoku Tokumu
_________________________________________________
Translation Notes: The "Ouzoku Tokumu" is literally "Royal Family Special Duty." It sounds more like an organization than an object to me; especially since they look like a group of people in the SOULs databook.
_________________________________________________
Yamamoto: The "Royal Key" is the only way to open the path that leads to the King's domain.

Orihime: So... Aizen... wants the King...

Yamamoto: He wants the King dead. ...The problem now is that of a certain location.

----- Page 08 -----

Hitsugaya: .........Even if Aizen has the "Royal Key," no written record has ever made mention of the right place.

Yamamoto: ...Indeed. The answer to the puzzle of where to use the "Royal Key" is passed only through successive generations of Gotei 13 Commanders.

Yamamoto: As for the "Royal Key" and the records on it------ A person who chronicles the efforts into its creation would know the "Sousei" method of fashioning a Key.
_________________________________________________
Translation Notes: "Sousei" is written with the kanji for "start" and "pure." Looks like Aizen's trying to create an authentic key from scratch.
_________________________________________________
Matsumoto: In other words, you mean to say that this "Sousei" method is a factor now?

Yamamoto: Partly.

----- Page 09 -----

Yamamoto: Tthe actual method itself is of no alarm, but the base materials are the real concern. To initiate the "Sousei" for the "Royal Key," 100,000 souls situated in a small area with a large deposit of spiritual activity is required.

Orihime: 100,000... souls...

Yamamoto: Well, that and the souls can't just be of any sort. They must be in a location considered to be "Juureichi" which acts as a nexus between the Living and Spirit Worlds. The "Juureichi" changes with the passing of time, but each time it marks a place where spirits can effortlessly pass into and gather in the Living World.
_________________________________________________
Translation Notes: Going by context I think "Juu-" is written first with "genesis" or "origin" in mind here instead of its other meanings like "injury." "-reichi" is written as "holy ground."

Oddly enough, the entire description Yamamoto gives for the "Juureichi" is another specialized phrase in itself "gense ni okeru reiteki tokui ten." I gave it my best without Aki here and had it as a nexus between the worlds. In the context given, it truly is a unique point of spiritual composition.

_________________________________________________
Yamamoto: ... So now you understand. Aizen has already found that vital location.

----- Page 10 -----

Yamamoto: Karakura Town is presently the "Juureichi."

Orihime: !

Yamamoto: The 100,000 souls and the place which compose the "Juureichi," there are those skillful enough to sense that this place is becoming more and more surreal. Simply put, this knowledge must be passed to others.

----- Page 11 -----

If Aizen completes the "Royal Key" according to the records he stole------ Karakura, the ground beneath it, and the people in it, all will disappear from this or any other level of existence.

Orihime: ...N-... No... Aren't there any steps... that can... that will stop all of this...?

----- Page 12 -----

Yamamoto: ...-------There may be no way to stop him. But, the Gotei 13 must at try at least.

----- Page 13 -----

Yamamoto: We hardly have any time left. Captain Kurotsuchi has reported that opening the Hougyoku's seal must have sent it into a four month hibernation. We will have just that long till it can be used again.

Yamamoto: Without it, Aizen won't be on the move.

----- Page 14 -----

Yamamoto: So that will place the deciding battle sometime in Winter. Until then, I expect all of us to develop our abilities and prepare for war!

Hitsugaya, Rangiku: Yes, sir!

Yamamoto: ------As for you, Inoue Orihime, since Aizen's goal lays here in the Living World, it will affect all of you there as well.

----- Page 15 -----

Yamamoto: ...We shall require the cooperation of those in your world; please forward this to Kurosaki Ichigo.

(Orihime is shown with a serious sense of duty.)

Orihime: Yes, sir!

(She leaves to start her mission.)

Matsumoto: All right...

----- Page 16 -----

Matsumoto: I'll pass this to Ikkaku and the rest of the team, Commander.

Hitsugaya: Ahh, I'll keep you company.

Yamamoto: ...Please hold, Captain Hitsugaya. It seems that there is someone here who has been waiting patiently for a word with you. I'd like to have you converse for a while longer.

----- Page 17 -----

Hitsugaya: ------...You...

(Panels show Sado getting creamed.)

Sado: ....Ug...hhh...

???: Is that all you got? You through now, Sado Yasutora?!

----- Page 18 -----

(The voice belongs to none other than Renji.)

Sado: ...Not yet...!

Renji: That so!?

----- Page 19 -----

(Urahara keeps an eye out on the pair as the panels switch to Orihime dashing around town, then to various people (Rukia, Sado, Uryuu, Ichigo).)

Orihime: (Kuchiki-san... Sado-kun... Ishida-kun... ...Kurosaki-kun...!)

Fanning: The big picture makes a big impact! Not much time is left with the crucial battles in winter. It'll be a season of training---!!

End of c223.

makes me wonder why you don't post the raw!
#14. by Djudge ()
Posted on Apr 14, 2006
Well, I don't have the raw when I make these scripts with Aki. Most of the time, we only have a loose JP script on hand from the Bleach thread moderator over at 2ch and maybe a few cam shots to confirm its authenticity.

Since Kaien, the moderator over there, has been posting consistently accurate spoilers and scripts for several months now, many of the Bleach translators see him as a reliable source of information. Plus, he's also very fast in his reporting, outposting the raw by several hours or even days in advance.

Heh, if I did have the raw, I'd at least put page breaks to denote how the dialogue broke down as well.

That was uncalled for, SpottheCat - geez, the man gives you a translation and you nearly bite his face off. Do it again and you're gone.

Anyway, thanks Djudge. This was one pretty interesting chapter - looks like we're going to have a lot more plot from here on. Good work on translating this one.

Since I had a chance to look at the panels for myself (now that the raw is out), I went back and made a few minor touch-ups:

*Added in page breaks to help you guys follow the dialogue using this script and the raw.

*Changed "Rangiku" to "Matsumoto" since most of you know her by her surname better.

*Got rid of the Orihime-hate; apparently the 2ch kids were just kidding when they described her as aloof; she looks pretty serious in that particular panel.

*Just noticed, but the JP script I used omitted Orihime's mini-monologue at the end; tossed that in there as well.

*The script also placed the Juureichi location as being the legacy for 13th Div. Captains. The raw places it with the Gotei 13 Commanders.

Hmm, barring anything else, I suppose this is pretty much done unless you guys want the fannings finished; though I suppose the scanlation groups will touch those up for you in their releases.

Catch you guys next week!
