そこで　私は
一流の料理店をもつ
一流とよばれた
料理人の子として
生まれた
i was born into a family of first class cooks that owned a first class restaurant


私は父の店を継ぎ
一流の料理人に
なるよう
育てられた
i was raised as a first class cook to become the successor

だが　私は
料理人には
なりたくなかった。。。
どんなに努力しても
父をこえられないと
わかっていたからだ
but no matter how hard i tried i knew...that no matter what i did i wouldnt be able to live up to my fathers expectations


それに　私には
父に内緒で
もちつづけている
夢があった。。。
besides i had my own dream that i kept a secret from my father...

そんな時　父が倒れ
私は店を継ぐように
迫られた。。。
あまりにも急な
できごとに私は悩んだ
but when my father collapsed i took over the restaurant...it happend so sudden that it troubled me

その悩みの答えを
くれたのは　父に
内緒で　もちつづけて
いた夢だった
そして。。。。。。
私の父に言った
ironically...the answer to my troubles was my secret dream..........thats when my father said

すべて私のやり方で
料理を作らせて
くれるなら
店を継ぐと。。。。。。
父は　それでいいと
言って死んだ
take over the restaurant and cook everything according to your own ways..........shortly after he told me that he died


ところが。。。
私の作る料理は
食通や美食家と
よばれるヤツらから
ofcourse...many of those gourmets and food critics came to sample my cooking

酷評をうけ
扱き下ろされた
「父の料理と違う」
「父の味と違う」と。。。
the criticism and bad reviews were all the same
stuff like 「its not the same as the fathers cooking」 and
「it doesnt taste anything like his father」...


しかし　私は
自分のやり方を
変えなかった。。。
but i didnt change my ways...

私は父と同じ
やり方や同じ味を
作るつもりは
なかった。。。
i had no intention of doing things my fathers way
no intentions of creating his flavour...


やがて
一流とよばれた
店はつぶれかけ
私は絶望した
slowly the first class restaurant fell from grace
and i became despondent
　そんなある日
　鬼頭様が
　私の前に
　あらわれたのだ
but then one day kitou-sama appeared infront of me

always resented being called the son of the first class cook...the sadness from abandoning my own dream...the despair of not being able to live up to my fathers expectations-------

暗い。。。陰の
思いを。。。
the feelings of those...dark yins...

すべて
料理に込めて
いたんだ。。。
all came out in my cooking...

ever since i was young i yearned for strength...

いつかは
武道家に
なり。。。
to become a martial artist...


いろいろな
中国武術を極め
世界に広め
るんだと。。。
to spread chinese martial arts around the world...

それからというもの
あらゆる中国武術や
憲法を
独学で修行し
身につけ
and after i had learned all the chinese martial arts and kempo by myself

父に知られぬよう
遠くの道の大会に
出場しては
優勝や入賞を
くり返していました
i would go win tournaments far away so my father wouldnt find out about it


やがて父が倒れ
店を継がねば
ならなくなった時
before my father collapsed and i had to take ovcer the restaurant

私は
ある中国拳法の
ことを
思い出したのです
i came across this certain chinese kempo

それは
手刀を主体とした
奥義をもつ
特殊な憲法でした
a special kempo that used secret knife hands

その憲法の
最終段階の修行に
山ごもりというのが
あって。。。
to perfect that kempo i secluded myself in the mountains to train...


道具や武器を一切使わずに
自分の手刀のみで
ある期間　山中で
生き延びるというものです
without ever using any tools or weapons i lived by myself for some time in the mountains

手刀で薪を割り
魚をとり
動物や獣を狩
さばいて食べる
ーーーーーー
i used the knife hand to cut firewood
slice fish
hunt beasts and animals---------


その時　偶然気付いたのです
包丁などの道具を使わずに
さばいた肉や木の実の方が
旨味がげていないことに。。。
thats when i started noticing that meat and plants didnt lose thier taste like when they were cut with a kitchen knife...

いつしか　私は
その憲法をもとに
料理をするための
独自の手刀を
あみだしていました
and before i knew it i started using that kempo to form my very own original knife hands more suited for cooking

the essence of cooking with the knife hand


なるほど。。。
道具を介さず
自らの手刀で
調理する
ことによって
i see...instead of using tools you use the knife hand to form a connection

その食材の

より込められたと
いうわけか。。。
keeping the flavours from escaping
even more than the "yin power"...

and then i wasnt confused anymore

i had no idea how many years kitou-sama had left

料理を作り

but until then i will continue to cook for him...

見ぬき。。。

perfecting my cooking...and have him acknowledge my cooking...
