Junk Record of the Last Hero Volume 7
Yaaaaaay!
Last JUNK volume. I've been doing a lost of last bit stuff, these days. That's kinda creepy, when you think about it.
Okay, damn those Freesia chapters, I'm getting paranoid, now!
This is (yet another) Gantz Waiting Room release.
This way for the scanned volume when it's done.
Further, all our scanlations may be found on Mangatoshokan, shortly after their release.
--------------------------
Author's Foreword.
Releasing JUNK, last volume.
The 7th volume is the one that completes the story, but I had ideas for a story about twice as long, so the last volume feels a bit rushed. There was a mountain of things I would've liked to do, but at least I've been able to accomplish a minimum.
Change as people imagine it and change as it is perceived are definitely two different things. Or rather, they don't have very much in common. How much of a change has Hiro undergone throughout the JUNK series?
JUNK has come to a conclusion. By all means, try reading it all in one go, starting with the 1st volume.
There's a lot I'd like you to think about. I believe that with personal growth and strength of purpose, people can ultimately change their country, and the entire world. How will Hiro live his life from now on? One thing is for sure: one step at a time, he's been able to advance towards greatness.
From somebody else's point of view, it may not seem all that much but as far as Hiro is concerned, the transformation has been far from negligible. Yes, much more significant than his JUNK transformations.

Hiro: JU...//JUNK?

Hiro: What do you mean, "slightly"...?
015
Hiro: Oh, well. Nevermind. I'm grateful.*vrrrooom*
016-017
News: Last night, a few hours before dawn, the Koufuku group's offices all over the country have been put to the torch, by arsonists unknown. Accounting for the possibility that most of them were acts of terrorism/Some are wondering if it isn't retaliation from the same terrorists who caused the simultaneous explosions all over the country./All of Koufuku's branch offices are currently on fire, and the flames don't seem ready to subside. The police is extremely busy, with a confusing situation on their.........*woooooo*
Ayano: Hey, you. The student over there.
Hiro: !
Ayano: The school is temporarily closed, for now.
Hiro: Hoshi-san...
Ayano: It's sensei, here.//But to think that most of the students had entered the Koufuku group.
018
Ayano: 4 students out of 5 are undergoing rehabilitation from Koufuku's brainwashing.
Hiro: So the school's open, but no classes?
Ayano: More profit for the private schools, then...
Hiro: Well, I'll be going home.
Ayano: What did you come to school for?
Hiro: Pick up the reference book.
Ayano: Eeeh?!/What's going on?!
Hiro: I've got nothing to do./So I might as well get some studying done.
Ayano: What was that...?
019
Ayano: Um. If that's the case
Hiro: What is it?
Ayano: Can I drop by this evening?
Hiro: Er... Well, I don't mind. What for?
Ayano: Today, I'll be completely relieved from my duty as your partner./I thought I'd like to spend some time with you, at least one last time.
Hiro: Well, fine by me.../But Natsuki's still there, you know.
Ayano: (Bratty little girl.)
020
Voice: Good job. You have done well./Everywhere, the operations have been completed within schedule, with great results.
Tsujidou: Yes sir.
Voice: Please refrain from JUNK activity until the next mission.
Dudes: Roger.
Voice: Good.
Tsujidou: That's about it./We're done for today.
021
Partner: What now?
Tsujidou: We proceed just as planned.//Contact everyone by postal mail./Right now, that's the best low technology has to offer.//Everyone's got their deciphering charts, right?
Partner: Yeah.
Tsujidou: No problem, then.//Now the 13 of us have everyone else’s lives between their hands.
022
Ayano: .......
Natsuki: Wha... What is it?
Ayano: Nothing.
Natsuki: If you got anything on your mind, go ahead and say it.*baf*
Ayano: Nah, it's nothing. Just thinking about how I could have been enjoying the last moments I'll ever share with Hiro-kun./That outfit of yours, what is it for?
023
Ayano: Is it something she put on to suit your tastes, Hiro-kun?
Hiro: I... It's not!! She didn't consult me...
Ayano: Humph.//So what if I dressed up like that? You'd screw me?
Hiro: What the hell are you talking about?//You've returned the JUNK transformation tool already?
Ayano: Of course I have.//Sigh. I might as well go take a bath.*flap*
Ayano: Let me tell you this. Now that you've returned to normal/asking me to give it back to you would be pointless.
024
*flap*
Kaji: The Koufuku group has been terminated! The ad-balloon terrorism acts all around the country were their handiwork.//I guess that settles the affair, don't you think?
Fujiwara: What are you talking about?//We don't even know who's responsible for destroying the Koufuku group through sheer brute force!/It wouldn't be out of place to assume whoever did it was on par with them regarding access to influence and power.//They were nested in the middle of towns, or on top of mountains./Hauling weapons all the way there couldn't have gone without a large host of massive issues.//But there weren't any traces of caterpillars or aircrafts of anything on the premises.
Kaji: Uh-huh.
Fujiwara: So what does that leave?
Kaji: Supermen........?
Fujiwara: Who knows?
025
Kaji: Come to think of it, that's pretty much the only viable option.../Which means...
Fujiwara: The fires started simultaneously, in various places all over the country/The supermen would have had to be at least as numerous as the affected locations.
Kaji: We are aware of the existence of 4 of them, for now.//The Black./The Red./The White./And the Blue.//And the damaged areas are Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka and Fukuoka./That's 7...
Fujiwara: Which is to say there are more than 7 JUNKs running around.
026
*gwwoooo*
Phone: You still haven't recovered the JUNK tool?
Ayano: Eeerm. Sorry. I'm still trying to persuade him.
Phone: You know what to do should it become necessary.......*fidget*
Ayano: No, no, no. It's gonna be alright. Give me a few days, and I should manage something.
Phone: It's like the 5th time I hear that from you.*clap*
Ayano: Yes sir. I know, sir.//If only things could remain the way they are forever.../Sigh.//Dang it. I must look like a complete fool.
027
Fujiwara: Crimes, catastrophes... a town in shambles, no matter what happens./People have the power it takes to rebuild from the ashes. Really, the people is where true power takes its roots.
Kaji: Yes...? I wasn't expecting that. What's going on?
Fujiwara: Nothing. Just something I think whenever I get on this rooftop.//When I was younger, I used to be in Kobe./Then the Great Hanshin Earthquake happened.[tn: Hanshin is the zone comprising Osaka and Kobe. The earthquake is the one that happened in 1995. Look it up.]//Amidst the rubble, I saw for myself those who had survived./And I was impressed with humanity.//It's pretty much the same with those acts of terrorism across the country./But we can be sure the confusion will subside, and things will be fixed again.
028
Fujiwara: They say there's no way to stand up against the forces of nature, right?
Kaji: Yeah.
Fujiwara: But ya know, we shouldn't underestimate the power that is humanity either, lest we be surprised.//That's what I think, whenever I come here on the headquarters' rooftop.[tn: The Police HQ, of course.]
Kaji: Ah, yeah.
Phone: *prrrrrr*
Fujiwara: Listening./Ah, yes? I see...//Uh?!/My brother?!
029
*step step step*
*baf*
Jouji: B... br... bro......
Fujiwara: You've regained consciousness!!/Hey!/Hey!!
030
*chirp chirp chirp*
Ayano: Well, I guess it's time to go our separate ways.
Hiro: Eh? You're going?
Ayano: UH?!!//What? What, you wish I could stay longer?!
Hiro: Nah... That's not what I mea...
Ayano: Tsk./What was that?//By the way, Natsuki. How much longer do you plan on freeloading here?
Natsuki: How much longer? Well...//Until Darling tells me to get out. That's how long.*glomp*
Hiro: Darling? And who's that supposed to be?[tn: Yuuki “Chick Magnet” Hiro strikes again!!]
031
Ayano: Joking aside, Hiro-kun is not a JUNK anymore./He won't be able to do anything when JUNK Systems comes for you.
Natsuki: I know./But I have nowhere else to go.
Ayano: Oh, well. Suit yourself./So long.
*slam*
Hiro: Hoshi-san........
Ayano: Mh?//What is it, my boy?
Hiro: Tha...
032
Hiro: Thank you.
Ayano: .........//Huhu.//Well done.
033
Natsuki: Aaaaaah. What the heck are you doing?!!
Ayano: Go for it. Live on, and become an adult!/Young boy!
Hiro: Hoshi-san./Will I ever get to see you again?
Ayano: Who knows?
034
JUNK!Dudes: November 15th...//November 15, is it...?//November 15th......../I see.//That's when we proceed with the plan then.../November...[tn: November 15th is Sakamoto Ryouma's birthday, and incidentally the day he was assassinated. More on that later.]
035
Narrator: October.
Hiro: How goes, Ayu?
Ayu: Fine. Things have been settling down, lately.//I no longer have my counselor, though.
Hiro: But you've become able to smile a little bit./Coffee. Wanna drink some?/Looks like bit by bit, you're reverting to your old self.
Ayu: Maybe you're right... Will I ever get to laugh as heartily as I did before?/Can I?
036
Hiro: You'll be doing just fine! You're working hard at it, aren't you?
Ayu: Yeah...//I wanna go back to my old self./The way I was before I entered the Koufuku group...
Hiro: Ayu...//I know!! Let's graduate together!! 'Kay?!
Ayu: Graduate? ........//Yeah, I'd like to./Sounds good.
Hiro: You're smart, Ayu. It shouldn't be a problem./I'm not halfway as confident about myself, though.
037
Ayu: Huhuhu./What are you gonna do when you graduate?
Hiro: Uh? Me?/Ummm.//Now that you mention it, I never thought about that./So what after graduation?
Ayu: You don't wanna go to college?
Hiro: College?//Yeah, that's right.../There's only half a year until term ends...//Hummm./What should I do?
038
Narrator: November 11th.//Kyoto.

Justice 32: JUNK Occupation
042
Narrator: JUNK Systems
Ayano: Sorry I've kept you waiting.
Boss: Indeed... Took you long enough.
Ayano: My apologies.
Boss: What about him?*rustle*
Ayano: Him? He's become an ordinary student, by now.
Boss: Ordinary?*crease*
Boss: I see.
043
Boss: Bracelet. DVD. Manual. Battery kit. Code number.../Indeed. It's all there.//Good job.
Ayano: Don't mention it.//If you'll excuse me.
*slam*
Boss: We're going to seal away everything about the prototype JUNKs./The fabrication of the second line of mass-produced units has been launched.//Then, no one will have the power to stand against JUNK./The second batch of product will be completed and delivered to the government in half a year.
044
Narrator: November 14th
Hiro: Achoo.
Ayu: Cold?
Hiro: Dunno.//It's not like anyone would be spreading rumors about me./Guess it's a cold, then.[tn: Japanese superstition: when you sneeze for no obvious reason, it means somebody's been talking about you.]
Ayu: We'll be taking the end of term exams shortly. You need to take care of your health.
Hiro: Ah... Yeah.//........
Ayu: ?//Something wrong?
045
Hiro: N... No. Nothing at all.
Ayu: ?
Hiro: (Feels like something's changed about Ayu's mood.../She used to be wilder and crisper...//Since that incident.../She's been acting strangely woman-like...)//I'll say, we still have some time left before we need to concentrate on studying.
Students: Heya./Morning.
046
Dude: You've been drinking since noon. That's no good at all.
Tsujidou: Look who's talking.
Dude: Mine are alcohol-free.
Tsujidou: Gimme a break.
TV: Today, the US President Phillip Edwards-shi has arrived in Japan. He'll be visiting the Diet tomorrow, for a speech he'll be pronouncing before both Houses of Parliament.//President and Prime Minister have been all smiles, and this since today in the morning.
Tsujidou: No, really.//Having that President guy coming here now of all times is a real treat.
Dude: How agreeable of him, eh?
047
Tsujidou: Tomorrow's November 15th. I'm wondering if it's a coincidence......../No. It was inevitable. If we are to do anything about this country, this is probably a good day to act.
Dude: November 15th. That's like, Sakamoto Ryouma's birthday, right?*slurp*
Tsujidou: Yeah./It's also...//The day he was assassinated.[tn: Sakamoto Ryouma, 1836-1867. Brought about the end of the Tokugawa shogunate. He's also regarded as the "father" of Japan's modern Imperial Navy. Wiki it for more info.]
Dude: Yeah, a Ryouma fan like yourself would know that much./But does it mean it's gonna be a fateful day for us as well?
Tsujidou: Yep./Exactly.
048
Tsujidou: Through this power that Japan has created, Japan shall know revolution once more.//This is what Ryouma... tried to do in the past...*gulp*
Tsujidou: However...//He was never able to concretize it./And that's what we're going to do.*bang*
Dude: It's not really my problem, but I think you've drunk too much.
Tsujidou: No problem. I'm not wasted.
Dude: Well, well, well.
Kids: Kya hahaha.//Daah!/Uh-huh. I'm in big trouble!!//Transform!!*schlink*
049
Kids: Hey. That's cheating!/I am Justin Biker!!
Dude: Aaah, children./*chuckle chuckle*/So peaceful.
PreachydouTsujidou: Ever wished you had a transformation belt when you were a kid?
Dude: Um... well
Tsujidou: It's not much of a stretch to imagine that a company would want to assume sponsorship for a toy transformation item.//But you know, I noticed this since when I was a kid: what would someone want to transform for?/Why the need to hide one's identity? .......
Dude: ........
Preachydou: Keeping one's identity from being discovered. Isn't that a way to avoid actually bearing one's responsibilities?//No matter how much your transformed self makes itself responsible for...
050
Preachydou: The real you can't be made to answer for it.../You can also go wherever you perform your misdeeds without anyone noticing. And you can withdraw from there in the exact same fashion too.//And assuming the power has any kind of effect on your body, transforming also lets you conceal that and live undisturbed.
Dude: Yeaaaah./We did have some superheroes like that.
Tsujidou: And there's something I found out while I was thinking about it.*pop*
Tsujidou: The two of us more or less live by the rules. Within the limits of legality./Which means... the reason why a superhero vigilante/is able to move freely, smiting evil wherever the law cannot may be because it is bound neither by rules, nor by law.
051
Tsujidou: Which is to say superhero vigilantes are unlawful by nature.
052
Tsujidou: And this one, the country has created itself./The JUNK suit.
Dude: That kind of transmuting heroes were the stuff of fiction...... But now they've become a reality/I reckon it's legal.
Tsujidou: Nope. From an official standpoint, the government doesn't acknowledge JUNK at all./They're still illegal, for now.//The current government would end the moment they admit to anything./Because no matter how you look at it, that superhero is a money sink people are taxed heavily for.
Dude: And you thought you'd use that method to do something about this government... and this country, didn't you?
Tsujidou: Nope.//I'm not aiming for a mere alternative./But to restart everything from scratch.
053
Tsujidou: To reset Japan... in the true sense of the word.//I have obtained the power I need to do so. JUNK is illegal. But that same illegality is precisely what makes things possible!//Now the only thing left to do is to wait for the right time... for tomorrow.
054
Hiro: What are you gonna do when you graduate?
Ayu: Eh? Me? Eeerm. Enter college, like everybody else...
Hiro: College, eh... I see. So that's what you had in mind.
Ayu: Something's gotten into you?
Hiro: It's about what I want to do...//What I'm gonna do... when I get out of high school./What I'd like to do.
Natsuki: ?/What's the matter?
055
Hiro: What are you planning to do, Natsuki?
Natsuki: Well about that, I guess I'll manage something./Just find some place where I'm needed, I think.
Hiro: Some place where you're needed?/Needed...
Natsuki: For now, my darling needs me. That's what I mean.*glomp*
Hiro: Who are you calling your darling again?
*sbaf*
Natsuki: It's about time we got laid, don't'cha think?
Hiro: I can't get it up for children.
Natsuki: ASSHOLE. You and I have the same age!!*whack*
Hiro: Ow
056
TV: The government has repeatedly stated that it had nothing to do with JUNK/and had absolutely no ties with the JUNK Systems company.//Kantou Television Network, which broadcasted that information has already claimed to have been misinformed/and is striving to restore good relations between itself and the government as we speak.
Hiro: ........
Natsuki: ........
TV: President Edwards, currently in Japan had dinner in Roppongi with Prime Minister Izumida, in a Japanese cuisine restaurant./Surprised, the other guests forgot about their own meals, busy as they were taking pictures of these unexpected VIPs.
Hiro: Wooow. The President of the United States is here.//Not like it's got anything to do with me, though.*slip*

Ayano: Shoot.*tadap tadap*
059
Narrator: November 15th.
Hiro: Well, I'll be going.
Natsuki: Have a nice day.

Hiro: Phewww. What, more school today? .../But I guess I should be thankful for having something to do.//The sky is heavy again/How depressing./Sigh.
060-061
*clap clap clap* *yeaaahh* yeahhh*
TV: President Edwards has been applauded as he climbed the stairs to the House's platform.
062
TV: And it's with Izumida-souri's undivided attention/that he begins his speech.
Tsujidou: (3 minutes till 1 o'clock./The time is at hand.//I had to disguise my transmutation device that way so it wouldn't get noticed until I made it to the premises.)*clank*
*grr grr grr*
Tsujidou: Gotta be thankful for a system like that.

Boss: You haven't found Hoshi yet?/All her likely destinations ought to have been confined, right?
Squint: Yes sir. Seeing as she's been wounded, it's only a matter of time.
Boss: She looks at me like everything's fine, and she brings me a fake bracelet./God damn that vixen.[tn: Not quite the same meaning as in English, but too good to pass up. In Japan, Fox spirits (or Kitsune) are reputed to be tricksters with degrees of mischief varying from harmless pranking to outright malice. Among other things they would turn into attractive young women to seduce human males.]
Squint: Experiment Subject Number One still has a mark on him.
Boss: Of course he does.
Squint: There's something else that could prove troublesome.
Boss: What is it?
Squint: I have no more feedback from the 13 members of the First JUNK team. Even their markers have disappeared...
Boss: What?
064
Dude: Where did you find that buckle?
Tsujidou: Yeah, well... I got my hands on it not so long ago./See, you make it work like this.//Change.
JUNK Team: Change.//Change.//Change.

Tsujidou: To the other five, split yourselves between the Cabinet Office, the Prime Minister's quarters, and the Parliament members' assembly hall!!//Casualties that may occur during the takeover don't matter./Parliament members aside, whether people make it out is equally unimportant.../but feel free to kill them!
*AAAAH*
Staff: Take the Prime Minister and all Parliament members to safety!!
Tsujidou: Take the surviving hostages to the 8th floor of the central tower!!/Assuming there are survivors at all!//Evacuate the US President!!//This is a Japanese problem!!

Fujiwara: JUNK?!
072
Fujiwara: JUNK has taken over the Parliament? What are you talking about?
Kaji: Fujiwara-san./The information is still.......
Fujiwara: What is the meaning of this? Wasn't JUNK meant to be a governmental project?
Kaji: It can't possibly... be a coup d'etat?
Fujiwara: Because they have the power?
Audience: What do they say on TV?!
Fujiwara: Well, things seem pretty chaotic, out there...//And the staff relaying the information is also right in the middle of this.//What should we do?
073
Ayu: Well, see you tomorrow.
Hiro: Yeah.
*tow tow tow tow*
Hiro: !//More helicopters? I got to see quite a lot of them today.*tow tow tow*
Hiro: I'm back.//Duh? Something wrong? You're like Scotch taped on the TV screen.
Natsuki: Someone is occupying the National Diet!!
Hiro: Eeh?/Someone? And who would that be?*slip*

074
Journalist: Ah! Some people have made it out of the building!! Cameras!! Can you please zoom in on them?//The President!! President Edwards has made it out, with members of the secret services to help him stand!!//Whatever's going on inside, we're completely unable to tell!!//We're absolutely without news of our own TV crew...
Hiro: What's going on? ...
Natsuki: Must be an act of terrorism, or something.
*step*
Hiro: Mh?
075
Reporter: Unbelievable!//The Diet, the very backbone of Japan has been taken over./Who is behind this? Why?! ... We don't know!! We are absolutely clueless about what's going on inside...
076
Ayano: Howdy, my boy. We meet again.
Hiro: Hoshi-san!!//Ho... how come?/And... what's with the blood?
Ayano: Hah... haha. I had a little something for you./So I came back to give it.[/End

JUSTICE 33: JUNK Congress
Narrator: 7th US naval fleet.
Marines: The President is safe. But remain on the lookout!!//We never know. Japan might fall apart within days... No. Within hours.//If by any chance, we need an opportunity to act...//We might as well prepare it ourselves.[tn: LOL @Babelfish bot translations. Journalist: Here in the Diet's building, silence has returned! The place has been occupied for 6 hours by people unknown!/We are yet to receive any contact from the perpetrators. The Prime Minister and the Parliament members remain inside. Whether the personnel is safe and sound...
Announcers: We don't know how they managed to occupy the building/but most likely, it's a group wherein the chain of command works impeccably.//It can't possibly be a single person./So we can assume this to be the work of particularly good planners.//All members of the House of Councilors and the House of Representatives are assembled in the same building on a rare few occasions./The New Year salutations from His Imperial Majesty, or like now, when a state guest comes in Japan.//In other words, they might have been aware of President Edwards' coming in Japan... and they planned accordingly.../Are we heading towards a Japan deprived of a government? ... Perhaps a temporary, extraordinary administration should...
079
Natsuki: That's JUNK./They did it.
Ayano: You're probably right.
Hiro: Shouldn't you be lying down? I mean, you should go to the hospital...
Ayano: That's not an option.//JUNK Systems probably has contacts in every hospital in the metropolis.../Even here, I won't be able to stay for too long.//Good thing you have a first-aid kit around.
Hiro: You told me to get that one. Because "Even JUNK is not invincible, and you might get hurt once or twice", you said.
Ayano: Ah, yes. I see......//Natsuki, I'd like you to go buy a little something for me.
Natsuki: Uuuh?
080
Ayano: I haven't changed clothes since yesterday./Could you at least go get me some underwear? I could settle with that.
Natsuki: I'm not here to run your errands, you know?
Ayano: But I can't exactly ask Hiro-kun to go buy female undergarments.//Come on. You're already dressed up as a maid.
Natsuki: Even so, I put on a coat when I get outside./Sigh.*trudge*
Ayano: Very well... How about we take that bath together?*teeter*
Hiro: Uh? What are you talking about? Have you seen those wounds?!
Ayano: Sorry, but I won't be around for long./There is something else I need to teach you.

Narrator: Japanese Defense Agency.[tn: Now Japanese Ministry of Defense, since January 2007.]
Glasses: The Parliament members' cell phones and all other means of contacting the Diet are completely cut off.//Now the report for the other instances of damage./The Cabinet Office, the Prime Minister's quarters, and the Parliament members' assembly hall have been destroyed, most of the personnel dead./Most of them found death as the buildings collapsed, it seems. The JUNKs didn't come out and slay them personally.//Head Officer. Let's make this place our headquarters for now, in order to reestablish a chain of command.[tn: Head Officer of the Joint Staff Council (the Japanese National Security Council). It's called thus because it is presided over by the Prime Minister and several other ministers (foreign affairs, finances...).]
Head Officer: Yes...//Still, is it really JUNK?
Glasses: Yes sir! Several of them are taped on the security cameras.
082
Head Officer: The people from JUNK Systems have arrived yet?
Glasses: They're on their way here as we speak.
Specs: Blast it. Organ under the direct control of the Prime Minister or not, they did create something troublesome.
Nose: The Parliament members are all dead now.
Dude: So the JUNKs are the only ones remaining.
Specs: We put up a strategy to get back at the JUNKs the moment the JUNK Systems people arrive.
Someone: The police and the riot police force are currently arrayed around the Diet./The JUNKs who perpetrated the other acts of destruction have also returned inside the building.
Nose: The current state of affairs is being displayed abroad as well. We can't allow Japan to be wounded any further./We have to make it known everywhere that we're gonna fight that mysterious terrorist group called JUNK.//Head Officer.
Head Officer: Yes.
083
Head Officer: Proclaim Self-Defense Force's march out to reestablish public order!/Concurrently declare martial law on Tokyo!! Notify all the media and every reporter club that we assume control of all information!!//Request that the special police squads deploy as well!/Whatever contacts there are, even among criminals, have them cooperate secretly with the Defense Force![tn: He probably means Yakuza. They're particularly influent in Japan, and have been known to provide humanitarian aid on occasion.]

Ayano: It's alright.
Hiro: Oh, well...*wash*
Ayano: Aren't you feeling a little itchy somewhere?
Hiro: N... No I don't.
Ayano: Huhuhu.
089
Hiro: Wha... what...*buzzzzzzz*
Ayano: .........//You should have a look at your head.
Hiro: Eh?//No way. I must be hurt...
Ayano: Not quite.
*fshaaaaaa*
Hiro: Yikes.
Ayano: You're unharmed. Don't worry.*shaaaaaa*
Hiro: So what's the matter?*splash splash*
090
Ayano: Here. Your towel.*flap*
Hiro: Ah... Yeah.
Ayano: Be sure to wipe yourself properly.*clip*
Hiro: Oh... Right.
Ayano: There. On your scalp. Can you see?
Hiro: Eh?//Mh? What?
Ayano: Take a good look. You have red spots on your scalp.
Hiro: AH! You're right. What are they?/I never noticed. Could it be some skin disease...?
Ayano: It's proof of JUNK's existence.*swip*
Hiro: Duh?
091
Ayano: The JUNK suit aims to bring people's true power to the surface in its entirety./It's not a superpowered suit by any stretch of the imagination. At most, it's a conduit... for a human being's true strength.
Hiro: Wai...*slip*
Ayano: Mh...//Ha...Mh./The JUNK suit's helmet has countless needles implanted within.//As you transform, they perforate their way into your head, and plant themselves directly into your brain./They release a weak electric current... delivering power-releasing instructions...//Ah. Hah.//They're made to bring out the power that usually lies dormant in people at 100% capacity.../Ah./Hah./The human brain barely works at 20% of its capacity... They compel it into achieving a 100% activity rate.../Ah.
092
Ayano: And that triggers the body... into releasing its full power in turn.//Ah./Unh./Hah./Of course, this varies from one individual to another... The suit is hardly more than a protection for its wearer's body...//Having the human body... constantly work at full capacity... In a way, that's the ultimate form of doping./Huuff./Anh./That's why it comes with a time limitation.
Hiro: Wai... Wait up. So if you keep on using the suit forever.../what kind of effect will it have on the brain... and the body...
Ayano: There's no way to tell...
Hiro: No way...*rustle*
Natsuki: ..........
Ayano: Ah... AAAAAAHH.

Narrator: Police Headquarters.

*vlam*
Fujiwara .......
Chikaishi: Couldn't you have made a slightly less conspicuous entry?/Fujiwara.
094
Fujiwara: It's all that built-up tension. Because on the phone, you told me to get my ass to the Headquarters./So. What is it you want with the Number One detective of the extreme?
Dude: Fujiwara-kun. Take a seat.
Bloke: In light of the current state of emergency, we will overlook your coarse attitude.
Fujiwara: Humph.......
095
Specs: You took part in the investigations regarding the supermen... the JUNKs, and their crimes./Am I mistaken?
Fujiwara: No ./But let's dispense with all the foreplay. You want me to do what?[tn: In Japanese, Fujiwara is using a particularly casual form of speech, which in context shows his utter lack of respect (the respect he lost) for his superiors. I did my best to convey that.]
Specs: From our examination of the images from the security cameras... we've gained confirmation that the one occupying the Diet is the blue JUNK we've observed at the Government Office.//What's more: there are several of them.
Fujiwara: Maaaan.
Specs: Which brings to 4 the varieties of JUNK we've been able to observe so far. However: the red JUNK, a man named Suzuki is dead. The white JUNK hasn't shown herself at all for months.
Fujiwara: And?
096
Dude: We've looked into your preliminary report./The one about the black JUNK.
Fujiwara: ........./So?
Dude: The only one you suspect to be the black JUNK is a young boy?
Fujiwara: What of it?
Dude: Let us in on your reasoning./How you came to that conclusion.
Chikaishi: Fujiwara!
Fujiwara: I was unable to gather any conclusive proof.
Dude: So let me rephrase my question.../If he was indeed the black JUNK. What would you do?
097
Guy: Arrest him.
Fujiwara: Yeah, I guess so.
Specs: The only thing that can oppose JUNK is another JUNK./We must consider this.
Fujiwara: So we ask him to go kick the blue JUNK out of the Diet?/Hah!//Now that's funny./Hih Hih Hih./A real killer.
Dude: We shall abandon all pursuits for all the offenses he's perpetrated so far.
Fujiwara: A judiciary transaction.../You can't be serious.
098
Tsujidou: The plan has been going on smoothly so far./You guys are on your own now. You're free.//Within 30 minutes from now, we'll be releasing hostages. Under that pretense, the staff members and other civilians will be getting out./You guys leave the belts behind and get out too.
Squint: JUNK Systems still has our data. We can't possibly hope to run away from them.
Tsujidou: Wrong. You'll be alright. JUNK Systems has deleted all the data concerning its members.
Squint: What? Really?
Tsujidou: Yeah.//The company's building should also disappear by the time the day is over./They're erasing all the proof.
099
Tsujidou: Now you know what's going on./If you still feel uneasy about this, just take a belt with you.
Squint: Tsujidou-san. What are you gonna do?
Tsujidou: Me? I'll be proceeding as planned.//Once the civilians have been released/I will make a declaration on the Internet.
Dude: Well well well. First the mails, now the Internet. That's variety alright.
Tsujidou: Well yeah.//It's possible to be heard all over the world in real time today, thanks to the web.//Oh, well. You could call it adapting one's methods to the situation. If Japan hadn't done that, it would've gone to waste.
100-101
Preachydou: On top of this the media in this country are already as good as dead. In the beginning, it was fairness or nothing. Journalists are bound by their connections to politicians, business, money, and God knows what more./Television, the newspapers, and even the Internet news twist the truth before it can reach us. Just like history has been./The reporter clubs are a good example of this.../When you write... The expectations of those in charge of distribution kick in. The truth is merely used as a tool.[tn: Preachydou Returns!!]
102
Tsujidou: The Japanese press is no more than a parasite clinging to political power./The one and only space of freedom left is on the net. Well, you'll find both good and bad in there because of this, though...
Dude: True enough... This country is trying to take control of the web, in the name of the law./ Laws... It doesn't take long for them to turn into mere tools for profit.
Tsujidou: Politics... the country has been perverted. I just want it to return to its roots.//To those days when the Imperial rule was being restored...[tn: The statue Tsujidou's looking at portrays Taisuke Itagaki (1837-1919). Meiji statesman, and eventual leader of the Freedom and People's Rights Movement (later know as the Liberal Party, the first Japanese political party to date) and considered one of the greatest contributors to Japan's parliamentary system, along with Hirobumi Itou (1841-1909) and Okuma Shigenobu (1838-1922), who also have their statues in the Diet's Great Hall along with his.]

Narrator: Haneda Airport.//Air Force One.
Attendant: Mister President. We're taking off.
Edwards: Right.//Never thought I'd ever see this country in such a state.//But there's not much we can do about it.[tn: Translated from Kia Asamiya's catastrophically bad (and thankfully subtitled) English.]
104
*vroooaaaar*
Edwards: Farewell, Japan./The next time we meet, will you have joined America as its 51st state?//Or else disappeared from the map altogether?/Oh, God...
105
Ayano: Here you are./You can have it back.
Hiro: This is...
Ayano: Your JUNK transformation tool./How do you wanna use it? You decide./Of course, you're free not to use it at all.
Hiro: But...
Natsuki: .........
Ayano: Well, I won't be staying much longer./There will always be a place for you in my heart, Hiro-kun.♥

Cop: Capture the boy./We're taking him in custody.
Hiro: Ah...... Ah........*chatter*
Cops: You're coming with us!!/Stand up!!
109
TV: This is the Diet building!! We have received an announcement from someone we think is the criminal inside!!/He's talking about releasing the personnel as well as the civilians, within 5 minutes from now!!//After that, he'll be making a proclamation on the Internet!!/The details on the following site...
Tsujidou: Thank you for everything, men./Be sure to stay alive.
Man: You too, Tsujidou-san.
Bloke: We'll be praying for your success.
Tsujidou: Yeah./It's almost time now.
Dude: .......
110-111
*vvrooooaaaaaar*
Dude: The stealth aircraft has departed.
Edwards: Right.
Dude: There's been a uninterrupted live broadcast from CNN.
Edwards: So it seems.../Let us have a look, shall we?
Hiro: !
112
Fujiwara: You've got to love how quiet Tokyo is, what with that curfew.
Hiro: De... Detective...
Fujiwara: It's okay, now.
Cop: Yes sir!
Fujiwara: I say the two of us have a little chat.
Hiro: How could you do this.../I can't believe it... My friends are dead...
Fujiwara: If you don't listen to my little request.../how long you're gonna live afterwards... Well, I can't really vouch for anything.[tn: Fujiwara: Giving a new meaning to the word "badass" since volume 1!][/end

Justice 34: JUNK Japan.
114-115
*VROOOOOOMM*
Soldiers: No orders yet.../.......//We're facing JUNK, here./Then, there's also those hostages inside.//Anybody does anything, and they'll have to take responsibility for all of this...
116
Fujiwara: I believe you are the Black JUNK./My gut feeling, and the general situation tell me so.//I'm not here to get a confession out of you.
Hiro: .......//They're dead... the two of them.../Hoshi-san and Natsuki... They're dead...*hic*
Fujiwara: Assuming that you are the black JUNK, you oughta have the power./I need you to use it to take out the blue JUNK in the Diet...//and free the Parliament members he's taken hostage./If all goes well, all of the crimes the black JUNK has committed will be swept under the rug.
Hiro: M.../Me...
Fujiwara: What will it be?/Young boy...
117
Fujiwara: I'd rather see the black JUNK strung up, for my part. Right now, my greatest dream would be to arrest him myself.
Hiro: Eh...
Fujiwara: See, I have a younger brother. He's my only family. He ain't worth the air he breathes, but he's the only brother I have./The day the superman appeared for the first time/he beat my brother to a pulp, and he's been unconscious ever since.
Hiro: ......
Fujiwara: 'Twas near a convenience store, in Suginami.
118
Announcers: The time has come to release the hostages, but nothing has changed yet!/What's going on?!//The criminal's Internet declaration will be starting shortly, though.../We should probably be considering the worst-case scenario.//Which is to say?/We can't leave out the possibility that he's murdered all the hostages.//I hope we can at least avoid this.......//Because of the hostages inside, the army forces surrounding the Diet building haven't made a move either./Are the Parliament members and the personnel alright?!
119
Dude: What's wrong? The hostages aren't getting out yet.*clank*
Tsujidou: Well, it's almost time for me to do as scheduled.//The army's on the move. My being off-schedule is part of the plan./Let's begin.
Journalists: The criminal's Internet declaration has started!!/Plug us in already!! Commentator!! Not a single word!!
Tsujidou: We're occupying the Diet. The very core of Japan's central government./We have no name.//If you must have something to call us by, make it JS - 001 BFS./JUNK.
Head Officer: .......
120
Fujiwara: The superman did a lot of things. Ran amok in Suginami, blew up your house....
Hiro: .......
Fujiwara: Destroyed the Nakano station, and the Nakano plaza!//Battled the white JUNK in Kanda./Devastating the Shinbou district in the process.
Hiro: ........*sob sob*
Hiro: I.../They are...
Fujiwara: Threatening an innocent child in Niigita.//And another rampage in the Saitama Super Arena.
121
Fujiwara: When your girlfriend was abducted........
Hiro: !
Fujiwara: The black JUNK saved her, did he not?
Hiro: ........*grip*
Fujiwara: Strangely enough, the black JUNK just stopped showing up./At the very same time you had resumed your education.//I assume you were too busy with school to run around being JUNK./The black JUNK? A high school student?//There's some place I need to take you. Come with me./You have no right to refuse!
122
Tsujidou: First, let me make it plain what we are./The JUNK suits are the product of a joint project between Japan, China, and South Korea: the Program for an Independent Defense Line in Asia.//A common effort between Asian countries. It was also a way to restore friendly relationships between those countries.//It's a top-secret program. A organ has been created in Japan, put under the Prime Minister's direct control, and the practical aspect of things was handled through a company run by retired officials: JUNK Systems.//The program was set in motion with the three countries' technological knowledge, and funded with taxes./Once a prototype was achieved, Japan was chosen for the purpose of data-collecting.//In other words, JUNK is Japan, China, and South Korea's endeavor to consolidate the power balance within the Asian sphere and put themselves on an equal footing with Europe, the Middle-East and America.
Head Officer: Is there no way to stop that Internet broadcast?!
Nose: By the looks of it they're using an independent server... On top of which they're going through several different providers...
123
Tsujidou: They have created that which has been on so many lips for a very long time. An invincible soldier! A warrior who displays superhuman power, and doesn't die easily. Well, such is the purpose of that suit.//The manufactured article is already coming along. And we are the ones running the final validation tests. With this power in hand, we thought it over//How on Earth could Japan have turned into this?!/What will it take to set this country, soiled with corruption as it is, back on track?!!//We have the means to achieve this right here!/The JUNK suits!
124
Fujiwara: This is the first time I get to see Tokyo so silent.*waaaail*
Fujiwara: But well, that's hardly surprising considering it's under martial law.//Earlier, I said I believed you to be the black JUNK..../Bah. I had no idea who else it could have been you excepted.//What do people do when they have access to godlike power? They'll want to try it, most likely./And they're surprised when that power exceeds their expectations. They don't pay attention.//Using that power... No, merely having it comes with responsibility![tn: Yes uncle Ben!!]/Concealing your identity is a way to escape from this, right?! If that kind of stuff ever became commonplace, things would go to Hell in a heartbeat.
125
Fujiwara: Even more so when you use your strength and things still don't turn out as you intended.
Hiro: !!//(Ryouko.../back then...//I was unable to save her........)
Fujiwara: This is the place......./Get off.//We're going underneath.
Hiro: The subway... Nagata district?
Sign: Tokyo Metro/Nagata District Station.
126
Preachydou: The great turning point that put Japan on the road to modernization is the arrival of the black ships./Perry's coming in Uraga marked the splitting of Japan in two, and the beginning of the Bakumatsu, as it's called.[tn: Matthew C. Perry forcibly (at gunpoint, or with cannons, to be specific) opened Japan to foreigners in 1853, thus marking the beginning of the end for the Tokugawa shogunate, a period known as the Bakumatsu. Consequently, the country was divided between nationalists hostile to Westerners and partisans of modernization. “Black ship” is how the Japanese called Western vessels between the 15th and the 19th century. That name comes from “the black color of the older vessels and the black smoke from the coal-fired power plants of the American ships” (Wiki).]
Officers: The heck is that dude babbling about?/An history lesson?
Tsujidou: One man was far ahead for his time. He was a true samurai./Sakamoto Ryouma.
Soldier: JUNK Systems' development overseer has arrived.
Officer: Let him in.
Head Officer: !
Boss: Here I am. I came directly from JUNK Systems./My deepest apologies for this grave disturbance.
127
Head Officer: Forgive the bluntness, but we're gonna have to put you in custody./And from there, everything regarding JUNK...
Boss: Well no./I don't think that's gonna happen.
Wrinkles: What?
Boss: JUNK Systems is currently deleting everything./The main office, the branch offices. Everything is being wiped clean, from material proof to intelligence.

Helicopter: A... an explosion at the police headquarters?! ... Explosion spotted!!/I repeat!!
Tsujidou: This isn't Japan as Ryouma had conceived it./Letting the nation's ballots decide who would represent the country. Abolishing the disparities between individuals... That is Japan as he wished it!! Ryouma came out of Tosa, and then we became Japanese!![tn: Sakamoto was born in Kouchi, in the Tosa domain (now Kouchi prefecture, Shikoku).]
Ramen: What is he getting so excited about?/That's ridiculous.*slurp slurp*
Girl: Who's that Ryouma guy?
Man: Beats me.
Tsujidou: Everyone didn't show the same patriotism as him, though. Perhaps he miscalculated.//The really indispensable people die... And those whose existences don't matter live on./That's exactly what happened with the Bakumatsu!*woooooooosh*

*BRRROMMMM*
Heli: JUNK Systems' premises are on fire!!*tow tow*
Narrator: Japanese Defense Agency.
Head Officer: You're planning to erase everything?!//You think it's that easy to make everything disappear nowadays?!!//I want a detailed report of the situation at the police headquarters!!
Officers: Yes sir!!
131
Tsujidou: Ultimately, the dream he pursued, his wish of happiness for the country and its people was killed in its cradle...
Kaori: Watching a DVD?/Don't use your PC on the television.
Tsujidou: A clique had laid a claim over the country and now stood at its head, thinking of nothing outside its own profit and lording it over other people, as they used the word "freedom" as an umbrella to shield themselves. That's what Japan is like today!//This is what gave birth to the great war that would drive the other countries into dreading Asia. Pounding populations all the way down to Hell!!/What I'm doing here with JUNK is meant to set us back on the right track!!//Japan as it's developed since the Meiji Restoration until today is nowhere near what Ryouma and those like him had wished for!*broommmm*
JesusTsujidou: Now it's little more than an entity under the schemers' control. Plotters who let civilians shoulder responsibility for all their failures!!//Who made Japan like this?!!/Japan right now is a failed endeavor!!
132-133
Tsujidou: And that's why we're gonna use JUNK, that negative power born of today's Japan to revert this country, back to the times when the Imperial rule was restored!!/Now, we have a last opportunity to create a truly democratic nation!! Once I am done here, I shall put an end to my own life!![tn: Tsujidou is going for a seppuku (honorable suicide) of sorts, most likely. As it appeals to samurai traditions, it registers as a meaningful act of patriotism in Japan.]/We shall restart from the ground up. The Prime Minister, the Parliament members, everything!!/The time has come to do away with this government of a handful, and let each and every citizen think for themselves, free from the influence of money, or any organization!! Now is the time to create a country with no winners and no losers!!
134
Tsujidou: Now is the time for the Japanese Restoration!!//Break out of your shells and get outside!!/Get out. Think and act for yourselves!! Don't just go with the flow!![tn: ¡Viva la revoluciòn! Anarchyyyyyy!!]
135
Tsujidou: Think for yourselves. Make your own decisions!!/That's what human beings do!!//You want to get out, do you not?!
136
Fujiwara: Tokyo's underground actually exists for the important members of the government to protect themselves in case of emergency. Did you know there were underground tunnels and shelters out there?//That's what people call an urban legend...
Hiro: Ah, yeah...
Fujiwara: And that's where we are... Well, at least that's one of them.
Hiro: Eh?
Fujiwara: That was news for me too, not so long ago.//Open that door and climb up the stairs. If you wish to do so, that is./Up there, you'll find the Diet. And the blue JUNK.//Ah! That's right. You forgot something.//Here.//I haven't looked inside/but it's important stuff, innit?
137
Fujiwara: Those two gave it to you before they died, did they not?
Hiro: !
Fujiwara: If you don't want to, you're free to follow me back out./But what happens afterwards is out of my hands.
Hiro: Detective!
Fujiwara: Mh?
Hiro: U... Um.../It's about your little brother. Can I know...
Fujiwara: ........//He's regained consciousness by now./Though I still have it in for the black JUNK regardless.

Tsujidou: Did you come all the way here without thinking this through, so much so that you don't even have an answer?//As pathetic as ever.//Oh, well. Not much of a change from your hikikomori days. You're just taking life as it comes, without trying to make a difference.
153
Tsujidou: Nobody's gonna count on a guy who never thinks things over and doesn't try to take a good grip on his life.
Hiro: !
Flashback!Ayano: How do you wanna use it?/You decide.
*dash*
Hiro: RAAAAAAAHHH

Soldiers: Currently locating stealth aircraft!!/Hurry up. Find it and report its location!!/The infiltration team hasn't made it yet?!//Wha... what's this...?!/What is it?!//What's going on?/Uh...//JUNK?!/The Hell... What is the meaning of...//He's... dead?/Is he dead?!
155
Soldiers: Those missile shots from the aircraft.../might have hit him directly.//Which means even JUNK is not invincible!/Now that all the data acquired during its development has been erased, we have no choice but to gather what we can from the situation.../Call Countermeasures!!/Move it!![tn: Disaster Countermeasures.]

*crash*
Hiro: Gasp
*fshhhh*
Tsujidou: You don't even spare a damn though for the consequences of your actions.*swip*
Tsujidou: Did you think that you had no influence on the world around you?//You always take the most simplistic of outlooks on life!!/You live with the misconception that everything is fine as long as you are!! I've seen a ton of people like this!!
Hiro: Kh...
Tsujidou: Totally pathetic!! An entire generation of youngsters like this. Modern history's really gone to Hell!!/Alright!! Open your ears!!
158
Tsujidou: Human beings are like drops of water!!
People: Wha.../Why, are these live images?//From inside the Diet?//The JUNKs are fighting...//A live broadcast?
TV: We can see inside the Diet on the Internet!!/The JUNKs are fighting?! Switch over to the televisions!!//JUNK's subjective camera?/So it's fighting against another JUNK?//There's a battle between fellow JUNKs inside the Diet building?!/Hey there. You gotta be kidding me!! Those pictures. And that voice!!
159
Hiro: Drops... of water.........?
Tsujidou: Put enough people together, and you have a society. Put enough droplets together, and you can reshape the water's surface./That water is society.//When a drop falls on its surface, the water ripples./If one person does something, then you can be sure they will start something.//Such are human relationships. Such is our world!!/If you don't think before you act and just do whatever you feel like doing, your environment will react accordingly!!*bzzz*
Tsujesus: A powerful action will conjure up a large wave!!/Considering this//taking a simplistic course of action, with no regard for other people/is something that you just can't do!!*buuuzzzz*
160
Tsujidou: It's called empathy!!/Being aware of other people's pain!! Both physical!! And mental!! There are too many guys out there who ignore this!!
*bash*
Hiro: Ghaa!!*vlam*
*thump*
Hiro: Gah//Uuh.../Nhhh...*tromp*
Tsujidou: Are you in pain? Other people suffer just like you do. Because they're human, like you.*trample*
Tsujidou: Why, you let people experience that kind of pain without even thinking about it?
161
Tsujidou: That simplistic attitude of yours is the new standard in today's youth./They can't even control their emotions. They go with the flow, heedless of their surroundings. They can't even anticipate where their behavior will take them.//They end up making all of their decisions on the spur of the moment./If only you could have paid a little more attention to those around you, you might have been able to make the current situation less of a catastrophe!!
162
Soldiers: Are you sure?!//I've taken this data.../and analyzed it. The people inside are dead.//JUNK suits can protect the body from a certain amount of power//but a great deal of power striking in an instant might overcome its resistance capacity./Even if the suits aren't destroyed, the person inside wouldn't be able to withstand it. I assume that's what happened.
Shades: It's a matter of power transmission. The suit can't neutralize it all.//I'm just speculating here, but it might not be able to withstand/the blast from a missile or a direct shot from a tank shell.
Soldiers: I'm wondering if remote weapons could be used to handle this./That is currently under consideration.
163
Shades: Assuming... that the Parliament members inside are all dead.../what of the possibilities of destroying the Diet and the JUNK along with it?
Dude: Head Officer, what do you think?
Head Officer: That's not the kind of decision that can be taken lightly.../but it can be considered a plan.//In any event, we need to get in the premises and ascertain the situation inside!/If the pictures on the Internet are anything to go by, there's a battle between JUNKs going on as we speak.//This is probably the last opportunity left./One JUNK is dead, but the others 12 might still be out there. Clearly we need to be cautious about this.
164
*bom*
*zoom*
Tsujidou: The power granted by the JUNK suit is not the same for everyone!/Basically, individual differences will appear!! That, and the way an individual thinks. The way he exerts himself.//Our difference in training and discipline is showing.*drag*
Tsujidou: Don't expect chance to help you!! You are inferior to me!! Even if we keep fighting, you can't possibly hope to win!!//So what will it be?!/Think it out!!//Think it over!! Think!!*dash*
Tsujidou: You have a head. Use it!!
165
Tsujidou: Judging from the situation, what should be your next move?! Where should you go!!/Don't stop thinking about what you do!!//You should be able to figure out something./Even animals think about what they're doing...//Right now/those who act out of instinct are human beings.
*wooooooo*
Hiro: This is hopeless... He's gonna kill me./The gap between our powers... is too great.//So this has nothing to do with the suit's power.../If only I was like him...
166
Hiro: If I acquire experience... If I think things over... If I acquire training and discipline.../training and discipline...//So ultimately, I'm the one responsible for myself.../Responsibility...//It's all about responsibility.*grip*
Hiro: I guess that's what it's like to be someone.//Even if this suit grants me access to great power.../I'm still a normal human being...
Tsujidou: Exactly!!*SMASH*
Hiro: !!
167
Tsujidou: Living as a human being comes along with responsibility!!*bom*
Tsujidou: Towards yourself! Others! And the world at large!! Always bear this in mind!!
*crack*
Hiro: Gaaaaaaaah

Squad: Initiating our search for the hostages.//Wha... What is that?!//We've... we've found... the hostages/the... the Parliament members!!
169
Tsujidou: Get out of that suit and go home.*brrromm*
Tsujidou: You have no reason to fight me and prevent me from going where I'm headed.//I think the broken arm was a somewhat high tuition fee/but sometimes, stuff just happens.
Hiro: With... with that suit, I've received great power./That power comes with responsibility.//And probably my broken arm is part of that...//I think I've understood, if only a little.*grrrr*
Hiro: I wish I could comprehend things as much as you expect me to... but I think I do understand somewhat.
Tsujidou: Shouldering one's responsibility.../is precisely what marks you as an individual.
170
Tsujidou: Most excellent, young man!!!*BOM*
Tsujidou: But too little, too late!! If only I'd been able to make you... youngsters in general... and adults realize this/I wouldn't have had to do what I did//As a young man becomes an adult, he receives the power to change his country!!*BAOM*
Tsujidou: If only he could think for himself as he uses that power!!//Do you feel comfortable lending it to money and political machines?*zoom*
Tsujidou: One by one, those forces do something very important. They decide the direction the world will be taking!!//That's why I'm returning everything to the origins!!/The Prime Minister, the Parliament members, they're all dead!!//I want to give the world... to give Japan another chance!!
171
Tsujesus: You, young people who still don't have the right to vote!! Pay attention!! Can I really leave this country between your hands?/Are you prepared to undertake such a task?!//I see today's youth in you./It's really too late... This entire country with all its people isn't growing up. It's falling apart.[tn: In Japan, legal majority (and the associated rights and responsibilities) comes at 20.]
Hiro: You.../You're wro...
Boy: Wro...//You're wrong.//You're wrong.//You're wrong.
172
Hiro: There's still... plenty of stuff I can't understand yet...//About my power and the responsibility it entails... about this country... the world... other people.../But... your drawing conclusions right here, right now I can't approve./Because... we aren't complete yet... If we acquire more experience, if we study, and think... think before we act...
173
Hiro: Then, we can become adults!!/Take us JUNK, for example!! As a member of today's youth...//Whether I get out or not, it's for me to decide!!*buzzzz*
Hiro: I'll think things out. Of my own free will!! I'll open the window!! And the door!! I'll open them wide!! I will go forward!! And grow up!! And study!!//Now I'll use this power of my own free will!!*ZOOOM*
Hiro: Because I wanna surpass you!! I wanna grow up.

Hiro: Why did you take my kick...?!//Why didn't you avoid it?!*crack*
Tsujidou: Humph...//Because I heard you speak out of your own free will.
Hiro: My will?
Tsujidou: That's right. I wanted to take in your will and your strength./I had to experience the proof of it physically.
179
Hiro: Tsujidou-san.
Tsujidou: Now that I've seen such strength in you... my duty as your counselor is over.//Probably I wanted to be able to raise your awareness of things, if only a little bit./You're only one man... but one man might be enough to change the world. One man is no more than that: one man. But crowds are made of single people put together.
Hiro: ........
Tsujidou: You can go, now. My counseling job with you is over.
Hiro: Tsujidou-san.
Tsujidou: Even when you transform and get into your JUNK suit, you don't get outside... You're merely changing the shell you're wearing./You can't truly speak of transformation as long as you don't change from within. And it's meaningless if you don't break out of your shell and get out.
180
Tsujidou: Hiro... It's okay, now.../Go... I told you, right? JUNK is not invincible. If you stay here, you're gonna die with me.
Hiro: But... What about you...
Tsujidou: I'll be fine...//There's a function on my suit that your prototype doesn't have./Once the time-limit is over, the prototype suit is released, along with the accumulated negative energy.../thus protecting the suit and its owner./This is what ended up killing your parents...//There's a handgrip system for that. Should you be captured by the enemy, this measure allows you to prevent classified information from leaking out./It releases the negative energy on the inside.
Hiro: You mean...
Tsujidou: Come on. Get going!! Before long, this place will be overrun with flames.
181
Hiro: But
Tsujessus: GO!!
Hiro: T... Tsujidou-san.../Fa...//Farewell...
Tsujidou: MOVE IT!!//Hiro...//Sorry for sounding so self-important. But everything that happens in the world holds a lesson for you to learn.*click*
Tsujidou: And... This is how I go about shouldering my responsibilities.//See ya.[tn: Tsujesus has spoken. Ite, missa est!]

Fujiwara: Sorry about that.
Ayano: See you. Even though I don't think we'll ever meet again.
Natsuki: What now, by the way?
Ayano: What should we do, I wonder? We've got money to spare...

JUNK - Record of the Last Hero - The End.

Ayano: The school is temporarily closed, for now.

Voice: Good job. You have done well./Everywhere, the operations have been completed within schedule, with great results.

Voice: Please refrain from JUNK activity until the next mission.
Dudes: Roger.

024

Ayano: Don't mention it.//If you'll excuse me.
*slam*
Boss: We're going to seal away everything about the prototype JUNKs./The fabrication of the second line of mass-produced units has been launched.//Then, no one will have the power to stand against JUNK./The second batch of product will be completed and delivered to the government in half a year.

Dude: Um... well
Tsujidou: It's not much of a stretch to imagine that a company would want to assume sponsorship for a toy transformation item.//But you know, I noticed this since when I was a kid: what would someone want to transform for?/Why the need to hide one's identity?

Hiro: Yeah.

Head Officer: Proclaim Self-Defense Force's march out to reestablish public order!/Concurrently declare martial law on Tokyo!!

Ayano: Your JUNK transformation tool./How do you wanna use it? You decide./Of course, you're free not to use it at all.

*BAOOOM*
*BRRRRRMMM*
*tow tow*
129
130
Hiro: ........
138
Hiro: What the... Me.../Fighting the blue JUNK?//Why should I do such a thing.../Because I have the power?
Flashback!Ayano: How do you wanna use it? You decide./Of course, you're free not to use it at all.
Hiro: Is that the duty of those who hold power?/... Duty?
139
Journalist: AH!!/The Parliament members who were sequestrated inside!! The hostages are being released!
*step step step*

Journalist: There's a blue JUNK escorting them. We heard about there being 13 of them, and now there's only one?

Tsujidou: Hey!!
Dude: We screwed up... I never imagined.../Even with the suits on...
Tsujidou: ..........

Soldiers: THE DIET'S ON FIRE!!/THE DIET HAS BEEN BOMBED BY A STEALTH AIRCRAFT!! THAT'S RIDICULOUS!!//What was the security system doing?!!//The United States has attacked our country?!/How can this be?!//It can't be!!*brrrommm*

Tsujidou: So ultimately, I find myself alone?/He he.

Hiro: Tsujidou-san?

Tsujidou: Hiro.../I see...//I wasn't expecting to see you here.../You surprise me. Is that a decision you have made on your own? Fighting me, that is!!
Hiro: Figh... fighting you?/But why are you so hellbent on fighting me...?
148
Tsujidou: Because I have one thing left to do... And I won't let anyone interfere./By the way, have you decided what your transformation password would be? Hiro... come and get me!//Change.

Tsujidou: So you've settled on "Transform".../Huhuhu.//Assuming this is a manifestation of will from the deepest recesses of your soul, I'm glad.//So. What now?/Now that the two of use have transformed.//You're gonna fight me. Aren't you...?
Hiro: ........
152
Tsujidou: Yuuki Hiro... Why are you here?/Did you mark me as evil? Have you come here as the hero who will enact justice upon me?//Or has someone... say, the government sent you?/Did you strike some kind of bargain?//Or else...//is there... some other reason?
Hiro: !

Hiro: !!

Tsujidou: Living as a human being comes along with responsibility!!*bom*
Tsujidou: Towards yourself! Others! And the world at large!! Always bear this in mind!!

Ayano: See you. Even though I don't think we'll ever meet again.
Natsuki: What now, by the way?
Ayano: What should we do, I wonder? We've got money to spare...
