The Ring of the Nibelung 3

Nibelungen #3

p65
Ring 3: The Ring of the Nibelung

p66
Alles geschmiedet und fertig gefügt, wie ich's befahl !
All has been forged and ajusted as I have ordered it! (Alberich, scene 3)

p67
Someone is willing to visit Daiba's laboratory.
A visit?
A woman who pretends to be an acquaintance of your late father.
A woman?

p68
I guess that the events at the end of the 20th century must have interfered with your industrial activities.
Luckily, the technological march has helped us a lot.

p69
So, you knew my father...?
Yes, I did...

I didn't know...
he was dead...

But he didn't hold any sympathy for his kind.
Please forgive me...

Do you remember me?

p70
Not at all.

It went back to your birth.

Time sure flies by...
It feels like the entire universe has accelerated...

What is your name?

What is these clothes you're wearing?

This my father's jacket, it is really dear to me.

p71
Can I see the second button from the top?
Yes.
It's made of emerald...

It was... one of my best friends who gave him that jewel... What does it contain?
An animated photo of my father.

The outer is a cut emerald...

...

p72
...

From where this button came?

An emerald...
!!

Like Emeraldas!!!

Not exactly...

p73
Can I call you Tadashi?
Yes...

Did you take over your father's work?
Yes... Quite forcedly though, I must admit...

If someone... was ever...
to come visit you with a gold ingot...

and to ask you to forge a ring with it...

I'd like you to turn him down.

I came here to ask you this favor.
Forging a ring with gold?

p74
Someone will definitely come.
My father was famous for his work...
I think that this person will come see me at the workshop rather than at the college laboratory.

p75
You shall not forge that ring, no matter what.
But why?

I don't really know myself.

But you'll have to refuse that job.

Since you're a friend of my father... I'll trust you.

I remember that my father was often saying me:

"If someday, a ship wearing a white skull embroidered on a dark or red blood flag...

p76
ever come to see you, you shall trust him without hesitation."

I thought you were here to take me and it made me happy.

That day will come soon...
Someone else will take you.

A police patrol are heading to your location.

We have been banned from Earth.

p77
I advise you to read carefully the booklet of "The Ring of the Nibelung" by Wagner...
and to think about this ring. I'll give it some thoughts too....

She has vanished...

p78
???

p79
!!

p80-81
...

Where am I?
In your workshop, or should I rather say, your "home".

p82
You want me to forge a ring?
Exactly.

Here's the material...

Pure gold...

That "holy gold" has reached the most high degree of purity of the entire universe.
Which size?

The size of my finger.

There'll be some leftovers.
Since you'll have to melt it entirely, just compress the whole!!

p83
I want you to consolidate it exactly like military equipment, by compressing the inside.
You should have the suitable machines here.

Or should I rather say, this place is the only one where you can forge it.
Hum... What beautiful machines!!
My father built them all before he died.

I heard that you knew how to use them.
Then prove it to me now!!!

p84
What pattern do you want?
I leave the choice to you.

Can I give it the shape I want?
Do as you wish.

...

Hm...

p85
[nothing]

p86
panel: Daiba
panel: Laboratory of studies and production of metals

Is it done?
Shhh!!!

p87
[nothing]

p88
Oh!

Don't touch it!!

Ouah!!!

I didn't cool it down yet.
You're far from knowing everything about forger's job.

What are you using to cool it down?
I don't know. Only my father knew the formula.

...

p89
Is it done now?
Yes, it will soon be fully cooled down!!

How much do I owe you?
How much are you planning to pay?

13 yens.
13 yens?

The price of one bullet of collection weapons!!
