Chapter 41

01

Text: on the right: The third round of the 3-game dice battle begins!
Text on the left: The Abidani Seminar team's leader Hanasaki Mayo!!!

02-03

Text on the right: Team Shirasagi's leader Shirasagi Tomu!!!!
Text at top: This gambling comic is burning even hotter!!
Title: Fight 41 Judgment Fire
Text on the left: Burn with those evil flames, dice!! As long as it's a gamble, I won't lose!!

04

SFX: Rumble

Mizuhara: Hanasaki Mayo...
Mizuhara: So she's the leader of the Abidani Seminar team!!
Natsumi: Her skin and hair are both pale blue. She looks like a corpse.

05

Mayo: Well done making it here, gambler.
Mayo: To bring so much pain to Hiruko and Yoizame...
Mayo: you seem to have run across some surprisingly good comrades.

Mayo: But their friendship and effort will do nothing but bring you pain in the end.
Mayo: Because if they had just lost both of those rounds, you wouldn't have made it here.

06

Tomu: Hanasaki Mayo was it? ...I first need to thank you for preparing such a wonderful stage.
Tomu: I doubt this will be a night any of us will soon forget.

Mayo: I'm looking forward to this, too.
Mayo: Tonight I can release all of my power.
Mayo: And...I will become a free woman...

Abidani: Heh ha ha!! I'm glad you two are getting along!!
Abidani: Now I'll introduce to you to my seminar's leader!!

07

Abidani: Hanasaki Mayo, 17 years old.
Abidani: Ever since she was a child, she has loved flowers and other plants.
Abidani: After she entered Shishidou Academy, she joined the Gardening Club.

Abidani: But unbeknownst to anyone else, she was cultivating truly dreadful poisonous plants and narcotics in the greenhouse!!
Abidani: Naturally there was poppy and cannabis, but there was also the deadly aconite, digitalis, thorn apple, and Clitocybe acromelalga...

08

Abidani: There were also seedlings of the most potent of all poisonous plants, "Gelsemium elegans".
Abidani: It doesn't grow naturally in Japan, but with only 0.05 mg being a lethal dose, it is 80 times more potent than potassium cyanide.
Abidani: After it was discovered that she had succeeded in cultivating a large amount of Gelsemium...
Abidani: she was deemed to be of the highest danger level and sent to spend a long, long time underground in the Abidani Seminar.

09

Crowd: Wh...
SFX: Chatter...
Crowd: What...!?

Abidani: By the way, the amount of Gelsemium Hanasaki cultivated was estimated to be enough to kill a couple hundred thousand people.
Abidani: But only she knows where it is.
Abidani: Even now, those evil flowers are blooming somewhere in this forest!!

Mizuhara: A-a couple hundred thousand!? Is she planning on making a terrorist attack!?
Natsumi: She's much more dangerous than the previous two...

Mayo: You don't need to worry. We won't be using any of that for this match.
Mayo: I can win this game without relying on them...

10

Tomu: Enough pointless talk.
Tomu: Explain what game we'll be playing.

Mayo: The game is called...
Mayo: "Judgment Fire".

Crowd: Judgment Fire...?
SFX: Chatter...
Crowd: I've never heard of that game...

SFX: Spin
Mayo: Come.

11

Mayo: This crane was once used to bring out the coal.
Mayo: It's been modified in a variety of ways for tonight's game.

SFX: Spin

Natsumi: Kyah!?

12

Mayo: That is your position and this is mine.
Mayo: You could say that this game is a form of sugoroku.

Mayo: We will take turns throwing 2 dice into the bowl in the center of the table.
Mayo: If I were to get 3-3, the game pieces would move 6 points towards your position.

Tomu: What are the "game pieces"?
SFX: Point

Mayo: The iron pots...
Mayo: Inside them is coke burning at 1200 degrees.

13

Mayo: The pots are set up to move up and down when a gear turns. They're connected to each other by a single chain.
Mayo: In other words, when one rises, the other lowers.

Mayo: At the beginning, they will each be 100 points away from their respective player.
Mayo: We're competing over points to raise ours.
Mayo: Of course, whoever makes their opponent's pot fall to their opponent's position first, wins.

Mizuhara: W-wait a second. You said there's 1200 degree coke in there, right!?
Natsumi: If that falls on them, the loser will...

14

Mayo: They will be set ablaze of course.
Mayo: The loser is fated to have their body and soul burned away by the fires of hell.

Crowd: Th-this is a true death match!!
Crowd: This isn't at the level of just your finger or your ass!!
Crowd: And if the chain from that worn-out pre-war crane snaps, both of them are goners!

15

Abidani: No need to worry!! Unlike with the other games, I was told in advance about this game.
Abidani: All safety issues related to the crane malfunctioning have been checked on.

Abidani: I will operate the crane and guarantee it will be done fairly!!
Abidani: You are both free to enjoy this as much as you like!!!

Mayo: We will be using the last remaining dice from the Shishidou Collection, the "Witch Dice".
Mayo: We will be using these 6 for the game.
SFX: Lay out

Mayo: We will take turns being the Leader who rolls the dice.
Mayo: And the outcome only counts with doubles.

16

Mayo: Otherwise, it's invalid.
Mayo: So 1-3 or 2-5 get you no points. You can only get valid points from doubles like 4-4 or 6-6.
Text under dice: Invalid
Text above dice: Valid
Mayo: And when the Leader gets doubles, the Follower has the right to roll the 3rd dice.

Mayo: That right is called the right to be "Judged"!!

Mayo: If the Leader were to get 5-5...
Text in middle: Moves 10 points
Text under black figure: Leader
Text under Gray figure: Follower
Mayo: Normally, the pots would move 10 points towards the Follower.

Mayo: But if the Follower is "Judged" and gets another 5...
Text in middle: Moves 30 points
Text under black figure: Leader
Text under Gray figure: Follower
Mayo: the Follower is found innocent and the pots move backwards towards the Leader for the double the added total of points.

17

Mayo: But if the Follower gets anything other than a 5, a 4 for instance, he is "Judged" guilty!!
Mayo: Then the pots move towards the Follower for triple the added total of points!!
Text: Moves 42 points
Mayo: If you succeed, you win double; if you fail, you lose triple. Being "Judged" is a high-risk, high-return tactic.

Mayo: And one final thing...There is a special rule that only applies when the Leader rolls 6-6.
Mayo: Specifically, it's for if the Follower chooses to be "Judged" and succeeds.

Mayo: Or in other words, when 6-6-6 is rolled!!

Mayo: Right then and there, the Follower turns things around and wins!!
Mayo: The iron pot is released from the stopper...

18

SFX: Falling
Mayo: and comes crashing down onto the head of the loser!!

SFX: Slam!!

19

Mizuhara: Ee!!
Natsumi: Senpai's doll!!

Tomu: Heh...I thought you were just bluffing...
Tomu: but this is a well developed game.

Tomu: Rolling high doubles is good, but, since your opponent could choose to be "Judged", it's also quite dangerous.
SFX: Burn burn
Tomu: And with "6-6-6" giving you an instant win, you don't know how the game is going to end until it does.

Tomu: It's a gamble of "luck", "ingenuity", and "courage"...
Tomu: This looks like something worth betting my life on.

20

Mayo: Heh heh...You certainly have the strength needed to be called an "Extreme Gambler".
Mayo: But we'll know soon enough if it's real or just a bluff.

Tomu: Hanasaki...I want to check the entire stage first.
Tomu: Unlike the previous two matches, this stage was prepared by you.

Tomu: I have no way of knowing what tricks you've set up.
Tomu: I'd like to thoroughly check the table, the bowl, the seats, and everything else.
Mayo: ...Go right ahead.

Yuka: Wait!!

Yuka: Leave that to me...
Yuka: It's too dangerous to let an amateur do it!!
SFX: Grab!!

21

Yuka: It looks like I'll have a chance to do something after all...
SFX: Stagger...

Tomu: Tsukiyono!!
Natsumi: Tsukiyono-san!! How's your stomach!! Are you alright!?
SFX: Dash!!
SFX: Stagger
Yuka: Wh-what are you talking about? This is nothing.
Yuka: It isn't going to keep me holed up in the bathroom forever...

22

Tomu: I'm glad you came back, Tsukiyono.
Tomu: This is exactly where you can help me.
Yuka: Sh-Shirasagi!!
Yuka: I'm so glad to hear you say tha-

Abidani: Stay out of this, shit girl!!
Abidani: You were disqualified, so you're not part of his team!!
SFX: Smack
Yuka: Nahh!!
SFX: Twitch!!
Tomu: Stop it, Abidani!!

Mayo: I don't mind, Abidani-sensei.
Mayo: They can check however they want.

Mayo: Because I don't need to cheat.
SFX: Lift...

23

Mayo: Unfortunately for you, gambler...
Mayo: This match won't be decided by "luck", "ingenuity", or "courage".
SFX: Clatter!!

SFX: Stop

Mayo: "Magic"...
Mayo: This is the power I received from the devil...!!!

Right margin: How is a gambler supposed to fight back against a ghost princess with supernatural powers!?
