According to the Meteorological Agency, today the first snow capped peak has been observed on Mount Fuji.
TL Note: The phrase used here, "first snow capped peak" (Hatsukansetsu, 初冠雪) refers to the first time in the year snow covers a mountain after the highest temperatures for that year in summer pass. It's used as a measure for when winter is coming.
This is two weeks earlier than the average year.
This year's winter has been predicted to be severely cold------
