Komatsu: How's it lookin'?
Kunieda: I can't say for sure. For now, I've treated the laceration in the forehead.
If he has broken ribs, he won't be able to carry a rucksack, but
I'll have to wait and see a bit about that..........

Page 10:
Somebody: Kunieda... we're really saved by the fact that you're a doctor.
In this snow storm we can't call for help.
Without you we couldn' even have treated him this much.
Niimi: I...
I'm truly sorry------!!!
Komatsu: You goddamn idiot--------
Do you think this problem will go away with an apology!!?
How many years've you been climbin' mountains----!!?

Page 10:
Yer snowshoe got stuck and a fell down on him, then yer ice pick fell down from the broken ice onto a guy's head.
Is that something an experienced mountaineer does---------!!!?
Niimi: I...
I'm sorry...
Komatsu: ...Anyhow, this traversal's a failure.
We've got no choice but to head down the mountain now.
Niimi: You-You really mean that!?
Komatsu: ...Niimi, are you underestimating this traversal?

Page 11:
Komatsu: This dead-of-winter northern alps all-mountain traversal is a total of 100km----
It's an impregnable route that pretty much no human has ever completed in all of Japan's climbing history...
Even in summer, it would be a hard route taking over a week, but with the severity of winter, it's on a whole 'nother plane!!
西高東低の冬型気圧配置で日本海側の山は大荒れ
With the winter pressure pattern of high pressure in the west and low pressure in the east, there are huge storms in mountains adjacent to the Sea of Japan.
不安定な雪質の中深いラッセルを強いられる
Until Mount Shirouma, with the unstable snow quality, you'll be forcing your way through the deep snow.
吹き曝しの稜線に行く手を阻むキノコ雪が群がる唐松岳鹿島槍烏帽子岳...
Exposure to strong winds block your path and mushroom snow gathers on Mount Karamatsu, Kashimayari, and Mount Eboshi...
While you're avoiding the danger of falling and avalanches, you've gotta endlessly carry a friggn' heavy bag and endlessly continue forward.
---And just when you've run out of stamina, the savage big wall of Mount Shakujyou shows up... Because it's so deep in the mountains, the untrodden route contains a great number of walls that are a mix of rocks and ice!!!
Mountain Labels: Oyashirazu
Mt. Asahi
Mt. Yukikura
Mt. Shirouma
Mt. Karamatsu
Mt. Kashimayari
Mt. Harinoki
Mt. Eboshi
Mt. Suishou
Mt. Yari
Mt. Shakujyou [And obviously the numbers next to them don't need to be translated]

Page 14:
Matsu: -----And if we succeed in all that,
our reward of the K2 East Face will be the same sort of thing...
And although it's a difficult route at the best of times,
with this load of trouble having happened, it's simply impossible to accomplish.
When this snowstorm stops, we're goin' down the mountain.
Any complaints?
Someone: I... I don't want that!!!

Page 15:
Niimi: I know I'm in no position to be saying this right now,
but...
but didn't you say it yourself, Vice Captain?
If we fail this mountain traversal the dream of K2 could disappear...
I want to go to K2 no matter what!!
For that reason, even if I have to carry Kase-san, I want to keep going!!!
Please let us go!!!

Page 16:
Mokatsu: Hmph.
Now yer just talkin' stupid.
How the hell're ya gonna carry a person on top 30 kilos of equipment...
Kunieda: I want to go, too.
Komatsu: Heh?
Kunieda: I threw away everything in order to go to K2.
I do not want to give up that easily.
Komatsu: ...Even so
Kase: ----I haven't broken any ribs,
I can still go.

Page 17:
Kase: Ain't it already decided that the one to pierce their axe into the summit of K2's East Face
is gonna be me!?
Yo, Mori,
what about you?
Unless everyone's in consensus
the party's dissolved.
Mori: I...
I...

Page 18:
Mori: want to go, even if it's alone...
Komatsu: Hmph. You pack of idiots.

Page 19:
Komatsu: If we descend just 10km, there's a town right there.
Even though ya could get hot food and warm baths there...

Page 20:
Komatsu: Heh. From the beginning, even I
had decided I'd go even if I tore apart the skin on these toe-less feet.
So then-----

Page 21:
The Mid-Winter All-Mountain Traversal of the Northern Alps,
continues------------!!!
Bag: Y. Mirata [Wait... no that's already English. Well, a name...]
