Silver Text: The Northern Alps All-Mountain Traversal, in the world below, news of a "team accident" spreads. Among it, Mori Buntarou alone reaches the town, and begins to tell the full story of the mountain-hike to a detective. Detective: Thanks to the accident occurring around the end of the year being reported from the very beginning,
and how climbers are becoming more cautious big disasters are scarce.......
for next year too, the media is going to handle this accident in a big way.
In that case, we should be a little direct, too, and spend the New Years holiday on it.
Guy: Yes, sir...
Detective: Speaking of which, is that survivor here yet?
Page 11:
Guy: Eh----------...
His name is Mori Buntarou, age 20.
He was a temporary worker at a warehousing company, but at the end of last year they closed down, so he's currently unemployed.

Yesterday at approximately 11AM he arrived at the "Kyouwakan" inn at the foot of the mountain.
After the lodge's owner treated him to warm food and miso soup, he took a nap and this morning and arrived here at the station.
He still is somewhat fatigued.
But he's in good physical health.
Detective: Say, Shimada.
Shimada: Yes?
Detective: I've been assigned at the station here for over 30 years.
I've seen quite a few mountaineers, but
why do they climb mountains, really?
Page 12:
Detective: Even if someone steps on a mountain, it's still a mountain.
It doesn't affect us living below at all.
They do it despite the fact that mountain climbing is an unproductive and meaningless act...
SFX: Koto
Obana: Nice to meet you, I'm Obana from the Community Police Affairs Division.
Let's warm up.
Shimada: Now, as we said before,
Could you tell us all the details of the accident?
Page 13:
Shimada: We're asking to to tell us about the circumstances of the disaster!!
事件でない事を明らかにしておかないと遺族の人達から訴訟を起こされるかもしれない
If you don't shed light on the unknown events, then you might be sued by the bereaved families...
Are you all right with that? This is for your sake!!

Obana: Shimada.

Mountain: Then the mountain

will safeguard your life.
But Mori,
Page 20:
I Don't Know: If you were to break this promise,
山はお前の生命について責任が持てない
the mountain cannot take responsibility for your life.
[Your mind's a little fucked up, Mori. That's the spine shooting out of Mount Yari...]
