I guess Takasugi will be the protagonist of Part 2.

[Gintama 517 Translation by Kewl0210]
Page 1:
Shouyou: A half-assed boy like you
is 100 years too early to know how to slack off.
Insert: A crushing blow is dealt...!!
Title: 'Gintama'
Shouyou: You two, please promptly get back to school.
You two little samurai.
Zura: Th... That's...
Taka: Yeah, I heard rumors about him.
A samurai hauling around a white-haired kid had opened a private school
and he's not charging a thing, taking poor students, and teaching writing.

Page 2:
Taka: That's the head of Shouka Sonjuku,
Yoshida Shouyou.
Insert: The eyes of a kind teacher----

Page 7:
Sign: Simplicity and Fortitude
SFX: PAAN
Guys: Geez.
Sign: Shouka Sonjuku
Guys: I've never heard of a doujou-yaburi at a temple school.
You're lucky you didn't get hurt worse.
T/N: Doujou-yaburi means to challenge everyone at a certain training school and defeating every member or its master. It sometimes has the implication of breaking the school's sign board if you win.

Page 8:
Taka: ..........
I was just sick of having matches with people weaker than me.
I really wanted to fight you... I sure didn't expect that somebody like that would...
Shou: You're plenty strong.
I can tell by how long you were able to compete against Gintoki, Doujou-Yaburi-san.
Taka: But I lost.
Shou: Yes. So you'll become stronger.
All a victor receives is a sense of self-satisfaction and conceit.
As the loser, you won something far more meaningful.
You have nothing to be ashamed of.
That boy is just a bit special.

Page 9:
Shouyou: In order to live... in order to survive
that boy had no choice but to become stronger.
Taka: Is he one you picked up, too?
Shouyou: Well, perhaps I picked him up or perhaps he picked me up.
I'm not so sure now.
Taka: So what happens when you bring together brats with no parents or no last name and teach them writing and the sword and that sorta thing?
Do those people become samurai?
Shou: Well, who knows?
I'm excited to find out.
Taka: I'm the one asking!
Shou: I'm asking as well. Would you tell me what a samurai is exactly?
Taka: Aren't you a samurai?!
Shou: I couldn't say. At the very least, I'm not the sort of samurai you think of.
Do you think that in order to become a samurai, one needs some qualification
like they need a household to protect or a master to serve or they aren't a samurai?

Page 10:
Shou: I think not.
Bushido does not only indicate the path of devoting one's loyalty to a country or a master.
It indicates the will to discipline one's self and to move in the direction of a stronger self,
to devote one's self to following one's own sense of beauty, those such motives.
So them, putting effort into their studies and trying to be at least a bit of a decent human being,
and you coming to such a place to doujou-yaburi wanting to become
even a little bit stronger,
all seem like fine samurai to me.
So even if they don't know their parents or their last name,
even if they do not have a lord to protect or a sword to fight with,
if they each carry their own bushido in their hearts,
they can each become their own samurai.

Page 11:
Shou: No matter what they become in the future.
Watching over as many like them that I can is,
yes,
perhaps my own bushido.
You washed up here because you had lost your way, yes?
I did as well. And I am still wandering now.
That's fine... Worry and wander.
You can become your own idea of a samurai.

Page 12:
Gin: ......What's with you?
Again, after what happened yesterday? Don't you ever learn?
Taka: Have another match with me.

Page 13:
Gin: Hey, give it up already!
How many times are you gonna doujou-yaburi before you're satisfied, bastard?
Taka: Until I win.
Kids: What's been up with that Takasugi kid lately?
The way he looks finally matches his social class.
Somebody: Shinsuke, where in the world are you going and what are you doing there?
Where did you get those injuries?
Surely you have not been causing trouble with Hotta-sama's son again?

Page 14:
Guy: The next time you cause a problem, you will be disowned.
This family will not fall apart because of someone that disgraces their family like you have.
Cool your head there and thing about just what a warrior is.
Jinbee, do not give him any food.
Zura: Geez. I said I only eat plumb onigiri. What was grandma thinking with this tuna mayo?
Oh well. I guess I'll offer them to the shrine.
Taka: ......
Katsura, didn't your grandma die a long time ago?
Zura: ......
Takasugi,
did you
.......fine something?
Taka: ......
No...
I just

Page 15:
Taka: realized I'm weak.
I realized there're tons of people stronger than me.
So I at least
want to become stronger samurai than them.
Somebody: Ippon!

Page 16:
Guys: !!
SFX: WAH
Kids: That was aaaaaawesome! You really beat Gintoki!!
Nobody's ever beat him before! That was so cool!!
You did it! That was great!!
Taka: D-Don't act so chummy!!
What do you think, we're students of the same school?!
Shou: Oh? Is that not so?
I was sure you'd joined us.
Seeing as you'd come in every day with greater fervor than anyone to train
or, sorry, to doujou-yaburi, after all.
Guys: WAHAHAHAHA
Gin: Heeeeeeeey! What's with this cozy atmosphere?!
Who the hell are you guys cheering? That guy's a doujou-yaburi!!
Ain't he gonna wreck our dojo?!! Didn't he just pop my defeat cherry?!! Is this really the time to be laughing?!!

Page 17:
Zura: I guess you sorta understand what it's like for all your allies that lost to you now, huh...?
SFX: TON
SFX: SOH
Zura: There are no enemies or allies here.
C'mon everyone, let's mold onigiri together!
Gin: Forget enemies and allies, who the hell are you?!! Why's the hell do I need to eat the onigiri molded by some guy I've never seen before?!
SFX: NUCHA NUCHA
ZUra: I didn't say anything about it being okay to eat them, I'm just talking about molding!!
Gin: What sorta ritual is this?!!
Shouyou: Ah, sorry. I already started eating.
Gin: That was fast!!

Page 18:
Taka: ...you really
are strong,

Page 19:
Taka: Gintoki.
Insert: Within that gaze, what is he thinking----?
Bottom: Gintama
