[Innocent Rouge 7 Translation by Kewl0210]
Author Flap:
At the beginning, there was love------

I've long wanted to draw the story of the the executioner 'Sanson' whom, due to the tricks fate played on him when he was just a young man, was hated by everyone in the world into his 60's.

A moment of passion gets life running.

Perhaps the dawning of a new history is waiting beside us for a moment like that to arrive.

Sakamoto Shinichi

Top: Europe Before the French Revolution
The answer to the question 'What family were you born into?' determine's a person's life.
In human history, 'birth=heritage' has ruled society.
Before the revolution, France is an 'absolute monarchy'.
Kings were considered representatives of God ruling by divine right wielded absolute power over the administrative, legislative, and judiciary aspects of government.
People were split into the levels, the 1st estate, the clergy, the 2nd estate, aristocrats, the 3rd estate, common people. The 2% of the aristocrats and clergy ruled the 98% that were commoners.
Through tax collection and methods that represented legal amnesty, aristocrats enjoyed wealth and privilege while the common people lost everything they had including their lives to support the aristocrats.
While the aristocrats were in constant struggles for power under the king, the common people starved----

At the current point in time, France is in a confrontation with England.
France once allied with Prussia in a war against Austria and England, but Prussia later betrayed them and made an alliance with England which led to France allying with its sword enemy for 200 years, Austria.
As part of their diplomatic strategy, the 111th daughter of the Austrian queen, Marie Antoinette, married into the French Royal Family at age 14.

For the sake of control of the country, the government at the time had sole rule to the right to revenge against lawbreakers, 'punishment'.
And so the 'executions' which took the lives of the people became the symbol of the government's ultimate power.
The ones that carried out that power was the executioners.
While the family of executioners in Paris for generations, the Sansons, were 'guars of justice', they were a presence scorned as 'grim reapers' for their killing of the people's brethren...
Even while they contributed to society as doctors, they were reviled by society from the moment they were born.

In this time of revolution where ideals are sought and a great amount of blood is spilled, who will survive?! Who is the real leader?!
Who will be the one to find the way the new world should be-------?!
Among the revolution's see of flames, what is reflected in the eyes of the Sanson Siblings that stand on the execution platforms that the people's lives flow into------?!!

Top: (The story leading to the present)
Text: The night before the French Revolution----. Sanson Family elder brother Charles Henri reigns in the city of Paris as head of the family of executioners. The younger sister, Marie-Josephe is living free in Versailles with the job of Executioner of Versailles.
In 1772, a man appeared before Marie-Josephe when she was working as security for the Palace of Versailles. His name was Alain. The man who was Marie's first love. With thoughts of an unfortunate childhood in his heart, he attempted to make his dream of establishing a school for the 'futures of the children'. But the aristocrat Earl De Luxe who resented him lit the school on fire and murdered Alain...! And then De Luxe fled into Versailles Palace. He tried to claim innocence by saying that Alain was an traitor to the state, but Marie tricked him into confessing his crime and brought him to the execution platform. In a doze, the sight De Luxe saw on the execution platform was "Marie leading a mob"... Marie then brilliantly chopped off the aristocrat's head. With Marie being showered with cheers from the mob, elder brother Charles sensed that younger sister Marie could become a person that shook the future of France and was unable to hide the misgivings in his heart----
Charles-Henri had a son named Henri. Like his father had long ago, Henri fretted over being born into a family of executioners. One day a young woman name Hélène came to receive medical treatment from the Sanson Family. Charles saved her life by performing surgery on her, but it was established that she was a convict set to be executed. Henri is suddenly confronted by the fate the Sanson family has been saddled with that they have both "hands that save lives" and "hands that end lives". That was the harsh lesson the father, Charles, taught his son.
Marie seeks 'freedom' and Charles seeks 'order'... With the revolution in sight, what will the "karma" of these two tell them?! The story of the fates of the Sanson siblings depends-----!!

I swear I'll protect you!!!
Woman: Charles...
Charl: When you and my brother married, I spend these three years trying to escape reality crossing the battlegrounds of Canada.
Never a day went by that I did not think of you...
I want your body. I want to embrace you.
I am saying farewell to my old, weak self.
As a fully-fledged man, I will see true love through-----!!

I lost every judiciary job, but...

Every nook and cranny of your body belongs to me.

Page 26:
Brother: Little brother Charles, you came this month as well?
We are indisposed at the moment. If you've brought an allowance, please leave it there and leave...
Colom: Charles, when we grow up, we'll get married, won't we?
Char: Yes. We will be together forever, Colombes.

A tree was struck by lightening and fell. The woman that was with you passed away.
My father happened to be passing by so he brought you home with him...
Char: Oh... God in heaven, what a cruel act...
My beloved Colombes, dead...?
Woman: Was the one who died your wife?
Charles: We had just vowed to wed each other...
Now I'm all alone...
Dad: Hold out your arm.
Char: !?

Page 30:
Dad: ...There are no irregularities in your pulse.
No broken bones, either. You just took a bit of a beating.
You should be able to leave this house come daybreak.
Char: ...A doctor?
Th... Thank you so much...
What a very blunt doctor...

Page 31:
Dad: No need to thank me.
I am going to bed.
Just apply the salve for beatings.
Woman: You seemed to have quite some nightmares. You were calling our your lover's name.
You're a kindhearted person, aren't you?
Char: !!
Woman: Come now, take off your shirt.
I will apply the medicine for you.
