As it breaks up the ground and pushes its way through the soil, the earth and sand fuse with the pet and get sent back out behind it.
It moves by making the soil itself into the caterpillar track...
Thus there's barely any surface-level vibrations and no visible remnants of where it's dug! And on top of that, it protects its rider!

Rai: There are microbes found in nature that can survive near volcanic magma and glaciers... They're called "cryoconite colonies".
They're described as minerals and living creatures formed as one and are the origin of biological evolution. These guys are emulating them.
