Kanae is aware of the lies of her husband who has disappeared. The deepening doubt and feeling of emptiness, they are not separated from the moment at all

Kanae: Sorry about the wait.

Hori: Ah, Good morning.

天気　大丈夫かな
Hori: Is the weather gonna be alright?

Kanae: I'll load two sheets just in case.

Kanae: Want some tea?

Hori: Ah, please

Kanae: It's hot so be careful

えーと　調布から　高速に入ります?
Kanae: Um, are we getting on the highway from Choufu?
環八から甲州街道ですね
Hori: The Koushuu Highway from Kanpachi right?

でも　悪いですね　せっかく休みの日なのに
Kanae: I feel bad about this, it being your day off after all
いえ　別にアパートにいてもすることないし
Hori: It's alright, even if I was in my apartment it's not like I would be doing anything.

堀さん休みはいつも何してるの
Kanae: What do you usually do on your days off?
何も　ボーっとしてます　散歩したり
Hori: Nothing. I space out. I go out on walks

堀さんて興味ないの？　好きなこととか。。。
Kanae: Don't you have any interests? Like things you enjoy...
興味はとくに。。。　まあ　運転かな　ドライブとか
Hori: Interests? No... well driving I guess, taking trips and stuff

その廃業する風呂屋の人とは知り合いなんですか？
Hori: Is the person from the bath house that's going out of business someone you know?

ううん　そこの人は直接は知らない そこの店に品物を卸してる戸田さんていう酒屋さんと　私の父が
知りあいだったのね
Kanae: No, I don't know that person directly. The person who's taking care of the wholesale of the items of that store is Toda-san, an acquaintance of my father.
それで内海さん　－これはお風呂屋さんねー　が店を閉めること前から戸田さんに聞いてたんだ
Kanae: And I heard that Utsumi-san, that's the owner of the bath house, was closing shop from Toda-san.

でも普通　廃業してもそこの使える備品なんかは組合を通して同じ地区のお風呂屋さんなんかに回るんだけど
Kanae: But normally, even when places go out of business, the equipment that can still be used goes through the association and is passed around to bath houses in the same area but
そこはなぜかそうしなかったのね　それで戸田さんがうちに連絡くれたんだけど
Kanae: For some reason that's not what they did there, so Toda-san contacted me

そのバーナーはどのくらい使ってたんですか？
Hori: How long has that burner been used?
１０年も使ってないんじゃないかなァ　手入れがしっかりしてるからまだまだ使えるって
Kanae: Couldn't have been used for more than 10 years, they said they were taking good care of it so it should still be usable

月の湯も重油で沸かすようになるんですね
Hori: Tsuki no Yu is going to be able to burn oil, huh
堀さんの仕事なくなちゃうね
Kanae: You're going to be out of a job to do
そうですねえ
Hori: Seems like it

冗談よ　バーナーもらったからってすぐ使えるわけじゃないし、釜や扉を変えるだけでも大変だもの
Kanae: Just joking. Even when we get the burner we're not gonna be able to use it right away. It's going to be a pain changing the boiler
それに今は昔と違って重油が高いからねえ
Kanae: And it's different from the old days, oil is a lot more expensive now

ただ　先のこと考えるといつか重油に切り換えるときがくるかなって
Kanae: Its just when I think about the future, I thought there'd be a time when we'd convert to oil
廃材は安いけどやっぱり大変だもん
Kanae: Kindling is cheap but it's a lot of work

まあ堀さんがずっと居てくれるならべつだけど
Kanae: Well, it wouldn't matter if you're always gonna be around.
おれは。。。　ずっとはいませんね
Hori: I'm... not always gonna be around.

堀さんはそうやってずっとさすらっていくの？さすらう人生なの？
Kanae: Are you going to wander around forever then? A roaming life?

別にすらっているわけじゃありませんよ
Hori: I wouldn't say I'm particularly wandering

堀さんってほんと自分のこと全然しゃべらないよね　流れ者だから余計なしがらみを作らないようにしてるの
Kanae: You really don't talk about yourself do you. Are you trying not to make unnecessary bonds because you're a drifter?
そんなんじゃないですよ
Hori: That's not it
いや　そうだね
Kanae: No, that's how it is

それでそんな　関心なさそうな顔してあちこちで女を泣かせてきたね　それでやばくなると姿を消しちゃうんだね
Kanae: And you put on that disinterested face and go around here and there and make girls cry. And then, when it gets bad, you disappear completely

どうしたんですか　今日は？
Hori: What's with you today?

いやナビのつとめとしてずっとしゃべってようと思って
Kanae: Well, as the navigator I thought I would just keep on talking
俺の話はいいですよ
Hori: You don't have to talk about me
ほら　ガードが固い
Kanae: Gosh your guard is tight

えーと　そこに大黒屋っていうスーパーがあるでしょう
Kanae: Umm there's a supermarket named Ogura over there right?
そこ左に曲がってください
Kanae: Turn left over there

Hori: Okay

えーと戸田さんの番号は。。。
Kanae: Hmm Toda-san's phone number is...
あ　これだ
Kanae: Ah, it's this one.

Kanae: It's 12:30...?
１時の約束だからちょっと早かったかな
Hori: The plan was to meet at 1 so we're a bit early

Kanae: Hello? Is this Toda-san?
どうも　かなえです　ええ　もうすぐ近くまできました
Kanae: Hi, this is Kanae. Yeah, we're already pretty close.

。。。はい？
Kanae: ... Yes?
え？　どういうことですか？　。。。はい　。。。はい
Kanae: Eh? What do you mean? ... Yes ... Yes.

。。。わかりました　じゃあもうすぐ着きますので、はい
Kanae: ... I see. Well we'll be there soon so yes

どうかしたんですか
Hori: What going on?
。。。よくわからないけど　何かあったみたいね
Kanae: ... I'm not really sure but it seems like something happened
あそこ右曲がって
Kanae: Turn right over there

Toda: Oh, you made it

どうしたんです？　大変なことって
Kanae: What happened? You said something big?
いやーそれがさ
Toda: Well that's...

ちょっと来てくんないか
Toda: Could you come with me for a bit?

おとといの夜　出火してさ　まわりにあんまり人が住んでねえから、通報が遅れたんだわ
The day before yesterday a fire started and nobody really lives around here so it wasn't reported right away
まあ　他の家に被害が出なかったのが幸いっちゃ幸いだが
Toda: It's certainly a blessing that the other houses didn't suffer any damage but...

。。。それで内海さんは無事だったんですか？
Kanae: ... So is Utsumi-san alright?
それがわかんないんだよ　遺体も発見されなかったし
Toda: I'm not sure, his body wasn't discovered...

え？どういうことなんですか？
Kanae: Huh? What do you mean?
いないんだよ　どっか消えちまったんだ
Toda: He wasn't there. He disappeared some where

警察じゃ　内海が自分で火をつけたんじゃねえかって　見てるみてえだが
Toda: The police seem to be looking into it as if set the fire by himself
え。。。？
Kanae: Eh...?

どうして？　どうして火をつけなきゃならないんですか？
Kanae: Why? Why would he have had to set it on fire?
いや　わかんねよ　わかんねけど。。。
Toda: Err I don't know, I'm not sure but...

奥さんに死なれてから　人を使って営業してたんだけど　こんな所だから客も少ないし　身体もきついから閉めて土地も売るつもりでいたらしんだが。。。
Toda: After his wife died on him, he hired someone and continued the business but it's way out here so there weren't that many customers and his health wasn't too good so he was planning to close up and sell the lot but...
それにしても火をつけることないや
Toda: That's not something to set a fire over

備品を周りに譲らなかったってのもなんかいろいろと軋轢があったのかもしれんし。。。
Toda: The fact that he didn't hand over his equipment somehow might have also caused some friction.
３日前に会ったときは普段と全然　変わりなかったんだがなあ。。。
Toda: When I met him 3 days ago he was the same as usual but...

そんなわｋでバーナーも何も　みんな燃えちまった
Toda: Because of this the burner, and everything else - it's all burnt up (pick a better word...)
ムダ足ふませちまって悪いけど
Toda: Sorry to bring you out here for nothing
あ　いえ。。。
Kanae: Ah, no...

大月インターから高速に入りますか？
Hori: Are we getting on the highway from Ootsuki Interstate?
。。。どこが景色のよさそうなところてきとうに走って
Kanae: ... Let's randomly head off somewhere with some nice scenery
え？
Hori: Huh?

なんか気が晴れなくて。。。　このまままっすぐ帰りたくない
Kanae: The mood won't lighten... I don't wanna head straight back like this

。。。　わかりました　適当に走ります
Hori: ... I understand, I'll randomly head out

。。。　あんなになっちゃうんだね
Kanae: ... It's came to that, huh

何１０年もあそこで営業して　いろんな人が入り来て。。。　そんなのもなにもかもなくなちゃうんだね。。。
Kanae: That place had been in business for some decades, all sorts of people coming and going... All that doesn't mean anything anymore though...

Kanae: Ah

水面が見えた。。。
Kanae: I can see the surface of the water...

ちょっとむこうに行ってもらえる？
Hori: Could you drive over in that direction a bit
はい
Hori: Okay

Hori: It's cold

ちょっとお茶とってきますよ
Hori: I'll go get the tea

。。。昔からよく見る夢があってね
Kanae: ... There's this dream I've had for the longest time

その夢の中で私はいつも泣いてるの　それは小さい頃の姿だったり大きくなってからのすがただってりするんだけど
Kanae: In this dream I'm always crying. And this happens when I appear young and when I appear older...
そして誰かがやってきてなぐさめてくれるのね　でもそれが誰かはわからないんだ
Kanae: And then someone comes and comforts me, but I don't know who that is

それから　その誰かの手が私の首ゆゆっくり　やさしく　しめていくの
Kanae: After that, that 'someone' wraps their hands around my neck slowly and gently...

それで首をしめられたまま深い水の中に沈められるんだけれど
Kanae: And as I'm being strangled I'm plunged inside a deep pool of water but
そうされて私は怖いのか安らいでいるのかよくわからないのね
Kanae: While this is happening I'm not sure if I'm scared or calm

ひとつだけわかってるのはそれが私が一番望んでいることだってこと
Kanae: The only thing I know is that, this is what I desire the most
それは夢の中の私の望みなのか現実の私の望みなのかはよくわからないけど
Kanae: I'm not sure if that's the desire of my 'self' in dreams or if it's the desire of my 'self' in reality but...

おかしな　夢だよね。。。
Kanae: It's a weird dream isn't it...

堀さん　あたしのこと好き？
Kanae: Hori-san, do you like me?

目立たず語らず介入せず。堀の「距離感」は、かなえに会って変わるのかー。
Without standing out, without talking, without intervening. Has Hori's aloofness changed after meeting Kanae?

ふたりを乗せた軽トラはどこへむかうのか。次号。
Where is the truck that the two are riding on headed? Next issue

Notes:
This chapter brought to you by the word "disappearance"! Much more so than the others anyways.
A pretty straight forward chapter so not _that_ much stuff to comment on

I'm not sure what the tobira she's talking about when she talks about "kama ya tobira." I'm pretty sure the kama she's referring to here is the boiler ala "Kamaba" but dunno about the "door"

廃材は安いけどやっぱり大変だもん
Kanae: Kindling is cheap but it's a lot of work

Lit: Wood scraps, Wood would work too (see what i did there, a 2 in one.)

Kanae: Gosh your guard is tight

Maybe just have something more natural about him being defensive. Gosh you're defensive. Though I sort of like the image of Kanae trying to puncture his armor or whatever.

Toda: The police said he probably set the fire by himself and are investigating but
え。。。？
This line I'm not sure of "Miterumite" I'm tempted to say it's more like "It looks that way"

Kanae: ... Let's randomly head off somewhere with some nice scenery

The random is stuck in there to account for the adverb tekitou but it would sound better w/o it.

I like the last panel a lot, particularly for the perspective. And then the two page spread is nice too

I know that the pronouns aren't agreeing with the nouns here, but translating it as "his or her" seems really weird.

それは夢の中の私の望みなのか現実の私の望みなのかはよくわからないけど
Kanae: I'm not sure if that's the desire of the self in dreams or if it's a desire of the self in reality but...

I know it sounds awkward but I did this to emphasize the distinction b/w the different selves she's trying to say. To say just "a desire of mine" felt like it was missing something.
