So here's the first of the past 3 chapters. Hoping to get 64-65 done in the next couple of days. Thanks to Frizzby for letting me use her work on pages 1-5.

Chapter Notes
First, the translation for pages 1-5 was based heavily on the work of Frizzby! Thanks to her for letting me pick up where she left off instead of starting from scratch <3 And now... lots of names!

Page 2, Gairouta / 凱郎太
The first kanji in his name means victory, or victory song.

Page 2, Rashomon / 羅生門
Rashomon was the gate at the southern entrance to the ancient capital Heian-kyo (Kyoto). In particular after it fell into ruin, it became associated in legends with mysterious goings on and appearances of demons. It appeared in a story in Konjaku monogatari, then later modern-day short stories and films.

Page 8, Shoukera / しょうけら
His name appears in hiragana rather than kanji, so I can't be sure if this is what story he's based off of, but... There is a youkai called Shoukera (also 精螻蛄 ) who prowls around on certain nights to make sure people are observing the appropriate night-long religious ritual, and brings down misfortune on them if he finds them lacking.

Page 9, Kidoumaru / 鬼童丸
鬼 = oni, demon; 童 = young, child. According to legend, this youkai tried to trick his opponent and get the jump on him by hiding underneath the hide of a cow. This is probably the reason why a sort of demon bull apparition looming over him is visible as he attacks on page 9.

Page 9, Kyoukotsu / 狂骨
Literally, 'crazed skeleton'. The youkai in Japanese legend takes the form of a bleached white skeleton-like apparition with scraggly white hair, who lets out wild, piercing cries or simply makes hysteric noises, as if he were insane.

Page 10, Ibarakidouji / 茨木童子
Ibara: thorn, briar, rose; Ki = tree; Douji = child, boy. An oni said to be the most trusted retainer of Shutendouji (strongest of all oni and hailed as one of Japan's 3 most fearsome youkai). There are a number of different legends surrounding this youkai. One says that as a child his teeth grew unnaturally long, his eyes unnaturally bright and gleaming, and he was larger than normal humans, so was feared by all around him, and he eventually turned into an oni / ogre / demon and left his village. He then was taken in by Shutendouji, and they set their sights on Kyoto. Another says that he was a handsome, popular young man who received many love letters, so his mother sent him away to a temple. She found a bloodstained love letter to him, and when she opened it and licked the blood off her finger, her son started transforming into an oni. He then vowed never to return to his village.

Page 16, Hidemoto / 秀元
秀 = excellence, surpassing, beauty.

Page 17, Koremitsu (Koremitsu-niisan) / 是光
The kanji in his name mean "justice, right" and "light ". Nii-san is a suffix meaning little brother.
