Chapter 59: First Year Representative

Relax. Focus on the rotation of the ball.
From now on, whenever you have time, throw the ball up straight like this.
It’s simple, but the best training for your fingertips.
In the room, aim closely to the ceiling.
Yes!!
Ah.
…

Page 03

Main Pillar Jump
Jump straight and stop when you land.
Without balance you won’t be able to jump straight.
Yes!!
This trains your main pillar too.
The preliminaries are close. Is it really alright to do such plain training?
I want to throw more…

Page 04

Step & Turn
Keep your legs on the ground and rotate your hips. // It’s a movement needed for pitching.
Yes!!
Tube Training
Exercise for better movement of the inner muscles.
Dumbbell Training
Dexterity Exercise
Imprinting the whip-like use of shoulder and the elbow into the body

Page 05

Good. Next join in the throw and catch practice.
We’ll keep the meeting for defence for last.
Y- Yes!!
F- For last…
…
We’re short on time, but don’t be hasty…
You lack plenty in skill and physical strength.
But being hasty won’t get anywhere…

Page 06

For now just concentrate on the training camp.
After that we’ll shift the focus on skills for pitching…
Chris-senpai…
Okay… Let’s get into defence with imaging the real deal.
…I see…
He’s not always thinking about us, but also giving us advice…
…Haha…
We can only trust and follow his lead---
Yes!! Chris-senpai!!
…Yes…

Page 07

Also, be sure to study. // The tests are near.
C’mon!

Page 08

The shout still isn’t coming from the heart.
I guess they’re still uncertain somewhere in their hearts.
….
Call Yuuki and Isashiki….

Page 09

…
You guys… Do you know what situation the team is in right now?
…Yes…

Page 10

Then why won’t you take the initiative and shout?
You guys are the core players of this team.
…
Because with the thing with Tanba, the morale of the whole team is falling.
In times like these, isn’t it the duty of you three-years to encourage the team?
…
Yuuki.
Isashiki..

Page 11

From now on, every day
You’re to do pitching practice at the bull pen after training.
Eh!?
!!

Page 12

Originally, it’s time to shift to the regular menu from he training camp’s peak…
But.. You guys’ strength will be needed more than usual if the teams wants to continue fighting.
I know your burden will increase by upping the training amount…
But I can only ask you two.

Page 13

(Entrance forbidden)
No pitching today, huh…
We can at least do some running, or?

Page 14

How’s that, Miyuki----!! (My bazooka ball!!)
Not even near the strike zone…
WHAT!?
It’s effective for back home though…
Switch with me, Jun…. // I’ll show you what a strike is..
Tch. When you’re just a field player yourself.
The fire is back in Jun-san’s eyes….
Guess the Coach was after that when he announced the pitcher.
These two have a strong sense of responsibility. If they’re told it’s for the team, there’s no way they wouldn’t get fired up.
..
What’s wrong, Kawakami!! If you’re not gonna throw, switch with me!!
Eh…!? I’ll throw!!

Page 15

Miyauchi-senpai, here I come!
Throw already!!
And to fan the motivation of the pitcher itself…
…
What’s up?
No matter how much you appeal, I won’t let you throw today.
More importantly, time for the self-criticism meeting.
With just one win from me, it’ll prolong our summer…
So make it back into the first string!

Page 16

Tanba----
This time it’ll be us who will be waiting…..
For the return of the ace----..

Page 17

I.. I don’t get it…
Not in the slightest..
Hey, hey.. Don’t tell me you’re at a total loss?
If you fail a subject, it’s detention.
And if you get too much detention, you won’t make it for the games.

Page 18

FOR REAL!?
Other class
Stop that and come back to reality.
K- Kanemaru~~ Do something~~
Because of Chris-senpais lectures everyday my head’s totally wasted!!
It’s your fault for slacking off in studying!
Don’t be so pathetic now.
Well, I don’t mind helping you study…
Eh!?
Chris-senpai asked me to after all.

Page 19

I don’t want to admit…
But he’s already giving his pest plenty.
Listen, there’s not much time until summer!!
There really might come a chance around for you to play.
Be it baseball
Or studying…
I’ll bash everything into your head. Be it just temporarily or whatever.

Page 20

….
Kanemaru…
You aren’t just the reprehensive for the baseball club.
You’re a reprehensive for all of us first-years.
