ここは高地ですから「セル」の使用には注意が必要なんです

I've never seen such large buildings... and there are so many new foods...

There are just so many new things...

何百年も昔に造られた塔なんです
The tower was built hundreds of years ago.

あの塔には別名があるんですよ
That tower has another name.

「堕天使シルフィーの塔」
"The Tower of the Fallen Angel Sylphie"

天使シルフィーは地を統べるべく天より遣わされましたが
The angel Sylphie was dispatched to Earth from Heaven to govern.
懐郷の念から少しでも天に近づこうと高い塔を築きました
She grew homesick, so built a tall tower so that she could be at least a little closer to Heaven.

しかし神様はその行為に怒り
But this angered God
罰としてシルフィーに塔の先端の高さを境に天に近づくことを禁じたのです
and as a punishment He made the top of the tower a boundary, forbidding Sylphie from coming any

closer to Heaven.

それが「くびき」となったとか
That became the "yoke"
不思議な話ですわね
It's a mysterious story...
だって「セル」は発見されて30年程なのに
I mean, we only discovered "cells" 30 years ago.

昔昔
Once upon a time...
シルフィーには「翼」がありました
Sylphie had "wings"...

神様はシルフィーを地に遣わした時命じました
When God dispatched Sylphie to Earth he ordered
「地に降り立ちて後二度とその翼を使ってはならぬ」
"After you descend to Earth you may never use your wings again"
しかし天を忘れられなかったシルフィーは神の命に背き空を飛んでしまいました
But Sylphie could not forget Heaven, and she soared in the skies, violating God's command

神様は大層怒りシルフィーを天使から「翼あるケモノ」に落としたのです
God was furious, and so He changed Sylphie from an angel into a "winged beast".
ケモノとなったシルフィーでしたがそれでも天を恋い再び空を飛んでしまいます
But the beast Sylphie still loved Heaven, and she flew in the skies once more.

神様はとうとうその翼を奪い
So God robbed her of her wings.
以来シルフィーは二度と飛ぶことはなかったのでした
And Sylphie never flew again.

ボクの村に伝わるお話　です
That's a story told in my village...
