Summary: This is a world when only maidens are allowed to pilot airplanes. In order to fly, the 12 year old boy Alto has disguised himself as a 14 year old girl and entered a public school. There he raced against

Angela, the daughter of the Meridiones, whose family had donated an airplane to the school. She unilateraly declared him to be the loser.
