B1: He~ro-sama~ // He~ro-sama~
B2: Big brother He~ro, // where are you---

B1: Where are you—
B2: I’m brining you~ // yummy yummy bread---
< poke // snap >

B1: Oh // Nice work, thanks.
B2: Hya-
< appear >
< step >

B1: Where were you?
< runnnnn >
B2: I came flying with a teleportation magic. // Your voice was echoing around the entire forest.

Page 02
B1: Ta-daa~~! // Today’s lunch is walnut bread and omelet made of onions and bacon.
B2: Ohh looks good.

B1: Big sis made it.
< amazing amazing >
B2: She’s learning the job pretty well.

B1: Thanks for the mea-…..

< gape >
< droooool >

{ Let’s eat together }
{ Yea! }

B1: Was big brother He~ro working in the forest?
B2: Yeah // I got two wild boars and one bear since morning.
B3: Looks like this forest’s starting to get pretty safe.

Page 03
B1: Wild boar?
B2: Pot! Boar Pot!
BOX: Little Sister Maid
B3: Wild boar hot pot huh, those are pretty good.

B1: You only think of eating huh,
B2: Full tummy is happy dappy. #does this make sense? Or should I go with the normal “Plenty of food is full of happiness”. It’s sort of important cause it’s the chapter title.

B1: Everyday’s warm // bed is comfy humpy // dress is pretty
B2: always with big sis // that’s happiness.

B1: ….

B1: What’s wrong?

B1: I was just thinking that Hero’s are of no use. // I’m painfully realizing it after everything has happened.

Page 04
B1: I kept on shouting peace with my mouth // but what is peace // or how can peace be achieved
B2: or what should I do when it’s peaceful // I haven’t had a single thought about any of those.

< stare…>

B1: That’s d-fi-cult.
< sulk >
B2: Yeah it’s difficult.

B1: Ah, that’s right. They said this afternoon is sword lessons.
B2: Oops, that was today.

B1: Wah
< lift >

B1: Then // we better hurry back.
B2: Yup!

Page 05
B1: Here I go!
< runnnn >
B2: Kyaaa
{ Ahahahahaha}

MaoYuu

B1: You were still working? // It’s almost time for class.
B2: Ah….// yes
Chapter 3: Full tummy is happy dappy.

Page 06
B1: I’m sorry // I’m almost done.
BOX: Big Sister Maid

B1: You already knew about taking the class from before. // Progress your work so you won’t be rushed for time.
#is this really the same person(?) who was singing Maou~sama in the snow?
B2: Yes, // I’ll be careful.

B1: I’m finished. // Please check my work.

B1: ….good.

B1: …Is it too difficult to balance work and study?

Page 07
B1: ….no // I’m fine.

B1: Please, keep it this way.
B2: ….all right.

Page 08
B1: ----… so the following // is the maximum extent at which the war will progress, based on Southern Kingdoms’ current economy.

Page 09
BOX: Military Youngster

BOX: Noble Youngster

BOX: Merchant Youngster
#LOL they all look so stupid :P I was thinking they were all sons at first, but wasn’t sure so I put youngster. Maybe we should switch the order… (Youngster Noble)

B1: I’m not an expert, but…
B2: From long ago, the percent casualties at which militaries collapse…

B1: WE FIGHT TILL THE LAST MAN STANDING!

B1: has been said to be around 30%. // So three-tenths.

Page 10
B1: In addition, // due to this standing army, as well as the on-going mercenary forces, maintenance of the war front is difficult,
B2: so sporadic battles and point fortifications will be the gist of the war with the current Demon Army.

B1: Any questions for now?

B1: How about the Holy Crusaders?
TL NOTE: my apologies. The “Battle of Holy Crusade” in the graphs from Chap 1 actually should be just “Holy Crusaders”.

B1: Right // that’s an outlier.

B1: Tell us what you know about the Holy Crusade troops // u---m // there, Noble Youngster.
B2: Ah // yes.

Page 11
B1: The Holy Crusaders were sacred expedition forces, formed by // the Middle Continent’s Crisis Assembly.
B2: Their mission was to annihilate the wicked demons and put an end to this war. // It has occurred twice in the past 15 years.

B1: They marched into the Demon World through the “Gate” at the southern edge of the continent, // destroyed two of Demon’s primary cities, // and advanced up to Demon Lord’s capital, but…. #figured it’s more appropriate to put Lord than Queen in this case…
== DIAGRAM ==
TOP-BOX: Demon World
Mid-BOX: Opening City
BOT-BOX: Gate
=========
B2: despite spirit’s protection, // due to Demon Lord’s cowardly scheme of destroying the supply routes, the troops had no choice but to retreat.

B1: Ohh // that was perfect.
{ Oh---- }

B1: These kinds of expedition troops are conducted with huge military force in the background. // Two things necessary for this // first is world-wide enthusiasm for the conclusion of war.
B2: If one great expedition will conclude the war, then the sacrifices are worthwhile. Only when everyone in the world believes that, #I was trying to make this into one sentence, but I couldn’t come up with a good way to do it. Is there one?
B3: there will be people who will throw their lives into battle.

Page 12
B1: The other is economic backup. // Without economic support, society nor war-efforts can function.
< cling >
B2: Humans are organisms that will starve and die if they don’t eat.

B1: Teacher // one can’t be picky during grand campaigns.
< thud >
B2: sometimes there are things more important than money or food.
B3: ….is that so.

B1: Starving is for people who lack will. #or “starving is for losers” :p
B2: In the first place, starving doesn’t even exists for citizens who are protected by the lords.

B1: ….seems like you never starved.

< ri---ng ri---ng >

Page 13
B1: Mistress // it’s time to end the lecture.
B2: Ah, it’s already time.

B1: Tomorrow, we’ll touch upon South Arctic sea’s military condition. // Today’s class will end here.
< rise >
< rise // rissse >

B1: In the afternoon, the swordsman will be here to supervise swordsmanship.
B2: Yes. I’ve been waiting.
< punch >
B3: Today’s the day.
{ Eh---- }

B1: Come // let’s go back to our work.
B2: Yea!

B1: Big si~s // let’s have Boar Pot today!
B2: Sounds good // I’ll ask Maid Head-sama later.

Page 14
B1: Oh
B2: Wah

B1: Eh….u—m // I came back to supervise swordsmanship.
B2: I- I’m about to head to the village head’s house for agricultural instructions.

B1: The youngsters were already heading to the backfield.
B2: Is that so // then, later…

B1: What’s wrong? You look tired.
B2: I’m tired.

Page 15
B1: I don’t know why I proposed something like education. // I never imagined it will be so tiresome to deal with human children.
B2: They’re pretty much animals. // Any logic nor negotiation goes through.

B1: Why are they all so snobby.
B2: Well, they’re nobles or upper class, so….

B1: Maybe I’ll turn them all to frogs.
< gibit ribit >
< dooooom>
B2: hey, hey

{ Don’t }
{ -tch }

B1: Then, good luck with yours
B2: Ah // Hero…

B1: What?

B1: I’m tired.
B2: So um… // I’m lacking energy.

Page 16
B1: Can you make me…..energetic?

B1: S- // sure

< bu-dump > < bu-dump >

B1: ?
< float… >

< floaaaat > #LOL
{ Ha-- }

B1: What is this.
B2: What do you mean…it’s recovery magic. // Are you feeling a bit more energetic?

Page 17
{ grab }

< squeeeeze >

B1: Alright // I received energy!
B2: I’ll be gone!
< runnnnn >

B1: Okay, I better get going too!
{ Here I go!! }

Page 18
< cling >

B1: Take that
B2: Thaa
< slash >

#WOW

Page 19
< stab >

B1: I…I’m done.
B2: Oh---

B1: How was my sword, sir.
B2: U—m, you see—

B1: Just now, you were only going GWA—
{ here } #below hand
{ Like this } #above head
{ okay? } #above swing
B2: I think it’s better to go more // BYU- or SHAA #don’t blame me for this mysterious explanation LOL
{ ? ? // ??}

B1: Mr. Swordsman, can be more clear … // That’s right! Can you teach us some special moves and stuff.
B2: Nice!

B1: A clear, special move huh-…
{ mm-… }

B1: {How ‘bout this} Like this…place your sword on your waist
< gugu… >
B2: Amass energy around your stomach like “gugu-” then,--

Page 20
< SPaaaaaan >

B1: Spaaaan… ‘kay?
{ See? It’s simple, right? } #yes, now I see that you’re an actual Hero LOL
< shake shake >
< shake shake >

B1: Wow-- // As expected of Mr. Swordsman.
B2: Seriously
B3: You’re too amazing.

B1: With that skill, you must get called for high salaries in any country!
B2: Raising one’s name with a single sword! // That’s a man’s greatest ambition.

B1: …..

Page 21
B1: A sword can take down an enemy, // but it can’t grow wheat.
B2: Nor can it same a sickly child.

B1: I wasn’t expecting Mr. Swordsman to say the same this as the Scholar. #or “professor”
{ Haha..}
{ Ahahaha… }

B1: The De-… Scholar is // much much greater than someone like me.
B2: What she’s trying to do // what she’s teaching // is “something” that my sword can’t even hope to compare.

B1: I… still don’t know // what I can do.

B1: Mr. Swordsman…?

Page 22
B1: Unfortunately, authority speaks for everything. // The moment I gained reputation for teaching nobles’ youngsters, the villages suddenly turned actively supportive.
B2: Looks like we’ll be able to start experimenting the new farming method at a reasonable scale from this spring.
< crack… >

B1: The Southern Kingdoms are said to have a fairly small distance between nobles and commoners. // Compared to the inland, there’s barely any social gap.
B2: …By the way

B1: why are we in this posture? #LOL
< lazy----- >

B1: Come on! // I was lecturing about farming methods to the village heads till this time, and came back amidst the cold // It should be perfectly acceptable for me to receive this sort of a reward.
{ I don’t really mind}

Page 23
B1: But, finally took our first step. // How many years is it going to take for us to achieve any results.

B1: No, we’ll get results even from next year // since I obtained a secret weapon. // It’s this
< seek seek >

B1: What is that lump.

B1: This is a crop called potato. #they don’t know po-ta-to?

B1: It’s a plant.
B2: Although it’s like this cause we dug it out, // this round part is made underground.

B1: Hmmm
B2: What a weak reaction // but get ready to be surprised

Page 24
B1: This is a pretty delicious and highly nutritious ingredient. // Since this practical portion is made underground, it’s less likely to be tampered by birds.
B2: Also, it’s excellent in its capability to grow even in barren lands or cold climates.
B3: In addition, it’s estimated crop yield, with rough calculations is about…. // 3 times that of wheat.

B1: Are you serious? // Is it a miracle food!?
B2: No // Food from the Demon World!?

B1: Interacting different cultures and different civilizations // tend to create such great benefits like this.
B2: Even if it was a tragic form of interaction // it’s still an interaction.

B1: I’m baffled.

B1: Also, it’s not like this potato is completely without flow.

B1: First of all, it’s poisonous.
{!?}
B2: Then it’s out! #I forgot whether this was a Japanese-only expression or if it works in English too :P if not, “It’s no good then!”

Page 25
B1: It’s not a strong poison, and it’s poisonous only when it receives sunlight and about to burgeon. // There’s no problem as long as harvesting and storing is properly managed. #wasn’t sure if “burgeon” is a common term (I never used it), but that’s what I got using a J->E dictionary. It’s suppose to indicate that it’s about to multiply…
{ Make sure you properly peel off the potato’s skin and green parts before you eat!}
B2: Rather, if it’s properly stored in a cool, dark storage, it should be good for almost a year.

B1: Also, // it has consequences under repeated cultivation.

B1: Under the right conditions, this potato can be harvested about three times in one year, but // as a result, the soil’s nutrients….in other words “Blessing of the Earth” is greatly consumed.
B2: It only uses the same type of blessing, so // if it’s repeatedly farmed in the same spot, the quality starts to drop, and it becomes more prone to diseases.
#sounds awfully familiar again….

B1: How should I put it…it’s amazing // as expected of a plant from the Demon World.
{ Wow--}
{ Hmph }

B1: ….mm?

B1: Since when did we get so far away from the fireplace?
B2: No clue

Page 26
B1: Wasn’t Demon Queen pushing?
B2: No, Hero’s back stepping.

B1: Is my body disturbing? // Is it really wasted meat!?
< turn >
B2: It’s not like that… // hey // don’t turn this way!!

B1: Excuse me, // I brought some tea.
< open >

B1: Therefore // This crop should be very helpful for countering starvation in cold climates!
B2: I see! That’s amazing!
#LOL

Page 27
B1: Therefore // as long as one is cautious, the poisonous aspect won’t be a big issue.
B2: If I were to choose, the consequence of repeated cultivation is the main problem. // There’s a limit to stability of production quantity if we entrust blessing of the earth solely on self-recovery.

B1: Are we going to pray to the spirit of the earth?
B2: You’re right, it’s a type of prayer. We’ll be consecrating. // More specifically, we’ll be offering burned food or animal corpse, livestock manure or leftover food. Stuff like that. #consecrating/ offering.
{ Are those allowed to be offered…? } #LOL

B1: I was putting my hopes on south arctic sea’s fish.

B1: Fish?
== Background ==
BOX-top-right: Collect oil
BOX-top-left: Food
BOX-mid-right: Leftovers from sale
BOX-mid-mid: Wastes
BOX-mid-left: Aww leftovers.
BOX-bottom: Organic Fertilizer (Fish Wastes)
Wastes: Dry and make it into powder.
Chickens: It can be food for chickens too.
= = = = = = = = = = = =
B2: Yeah, fish are good for offering. // Collective amount is especially crucial for prolonged use.

B1: …..but, there’s a huge problem.
B2: What? // Is something wrong with south arctic sea?

Page 28
B1: One is…I’m sure Hero’s him too, // the South Arctic General.
BOX: South Arctic General
B2: …ah that geezer.

B1: Even among the mostly hostile Fanged Beast clan, he’s one of the most aggressive.
B2: Even now when I, the Demon Queen, is absent, // I’ve heard that he continues looting.
B3: He’s commanding the Silver Scale clan, the Flying Shark clan, and the Iron Shell clan. // He’s one of the top ten most powerful among Demons.

Past 29
B1: I fought with him a couple of times.
B2: He was insanely huge, // and had unbelievable spearman ship. #or “was unbelievably good with his harpoon.”

B1: Since I’m supposed to be under recuperation, it’s difficult for me to send any commands // Although he’s not the personage to listen to me….

B1: Under the confusion from the 2nd Holy Crusaders, the Demons succeeded in taking back Aurora Island in south arctic sea. So right now, South Arctic General’s forces are stationed on the island.
B2: If we were to act in south arctic sea, we won’t be able to escape conflict with him.

B1: Another is // “Union”.

Page 30
B1: That sounds familiar… was it a gathering of merchants?
B2: Why are merchants a problem?

B1: Trading privileges ….by handling the rights to trade, they take part in economy throughout the Middle Continent.
B2: If we were to anticipate large trading or business, we won’t be able to ignore them too.

B1: It sounds pretty exaggerated against organization of some merchants.

B1: The scale of the organization is the problem. // Their influences extend throughout the entire Middle Continent.

B1: Their total asset is astronomical… In the very least, I’m quite certain that it’s enough to buy the entire Southern Kingdoms five times and still have some change left.
B2: If we don’t deal with them carelessly, there might even be a war.

Page 31
B1: What the heck’s that. // It’s a monster.

B1: It’s without doubt a monster. // Human life is conducted on the shoulders of a monster.

B1: Conflict …with them can’t be escaped….how // ever…
B2: prudently….

< zzzzz----… >

Page 32
BOX: Lake Nation // Outside City Suburbs
< appear >

B1: …..all clear.
B2: Alright. // Teleportation magic is a pretty convenient thing. #yes, it’s called cheating :P since when did RPGs offer unrestricted teleportation magic :<

B1: Our destination is very close. // Hide your face just to be safe.
B2: Okay.

B1: Compared to the mistress clothes, this disguise // feels more comfortable.
< step step >
B2: That thing’s pretty good in its own way.

B1: Look
B2: That building // is the monastery that governs religious order around this region.

B1: Ohhh…

Page 33
[ YAY~~~ NO TeXt]

Page 34
B1: Our monastery is holding an afternoon prayer. // Can you please wait here for a little while?
B2: Okay, thank you.

B1: For now, the intrusion is a success.
B2: Yes // it has some sort of a unique atmosphere.
< Ho-----… >

B1: Religion is one thing that’s difficult for me to understand.
B2: It’s hard for me to explain too.

B1: But well…I never doubted guarding them, // especially since you’re a Demon Queen. #not really sure what he’s trying to say….
{ HAHAHA}
B2: I’ve never been afraid of gods!

B1: It’s not gods, but spirits. // People who cry the name of spirits are formidable. #or “fearsome”

B1: Hm, that’s quite impressive.
< brrr >
B2: People in this world seem to believe in things like spirit of light.

Page 35
B1: Yeah // all the major countries in the Middle Continent believed in the spirit of light. // Nonetheless, “Church” is a large family, so there are various factions within the religion.
B2: Right now, those factions are surfaced in the form of “Order”. // This monastery’s “Lake Shore Order” is one of those.

B1: How about Hero?
B2: Me? // For me, rather than a belief, it’s more like….

B1: When I’m fighting on the battlefield, especially against things like Demons, I can feel that a spirit is very close by.
B2: Rather than a religious faith, it’s more like a friendly interaction.

B1: Well, I’m supposed to be a Hero, // so I sometimes hear callings in my dream.
B2: Other than being an incredible saint, isn’t it an existence similar to Demon Lord? // I’m sure it has a weak personality that can’t refuse bothersome requests.

Page 36
B1: What..…god exists!?
B2: Their not gods, but spirit of light.

B1: In places other than faith, “Church” // possesses a huge significance in society.
B2: If we were to talk in numbers alone, they are a big organization that even “Union” can’t hope to compete against.

B1: Even for research and education…// ?
B2: Yeah. // In this world, those kinds of knowledge are all under the power of Church…. // is I think a pretty valid statement.

B1: People in the suburbs learn to speak and write from Church services. // It’s the so-called education. { I know it, now! }

B1: I’m placing my hopes on that organization power.
B2: Religious orders are perfect in that aspect.

B1: This Lake Shore Order is one of the most practical among Religious Orders.
B2: Ohhh

Page 37
B1: They consider things like life support for farmers as their main goal. // Providing work force, guiding grape cultivation, keeping family registries
B2: Ah, that’s right they also run a hospital.

B1: Hospital too!
B2: In the first place, isn’t it the Church’s job to run hospitals?
{ Although there are places that don’t follow that}

B1: You’re quite knowledgeable.
B2: I’m just repeating what I’ve heard from an old acquaintance.

Page 38
B1: Demon Queen…. // what should I say // um…
B2: You sometimes make an extremely lonely face. // Like just now---

B1: Really?
B2: I’m not aware of it at all.

B1: Hey, Demon Queen
B2: How are things perceived in your eyes---

Page 39
B1: ---Hero…?
