-> RTS Page for Bakuman 118

Please note that I have decided to start reserving my scanlations. I didn't want to do this, but with certain persons stealing translations multiple times, I really don't think this "PM me before using" thing works. All I want is to know when my translations are being used, is that too much to ask?? <.< I don't know if reserving will help much if at all, but I certainly hope it does. International groups, don't worry, you are not affected but you will still need to PM me first before you use anything.

Also, expect Bakuman scanlations to come later from now on - [Ju-Ni]Vicissitude's scans are the best quality and something scanlators can actually make something good out of, so we gotta wait for those raws. Last week was fast because there was no Bleach so the raws came faster, since normally Vic will only scan other series after his group is done with their Bleach scanlation.

RESERVED FOR MUDA SCANLATIONS.

INTERNATIONAL GROUPS PLEASE PM ME BEFORE USE.

b1: It looks like Nanamine-kun's homepage is gone, but people who saved the images are uploading them one after another. The popularity of "Shinjitsu no Kyoushitsu" on the internet doesn't end... (TN: Shinjitsu no Kyoushitsu - Classroom of Truth)
a1: Page 118 Back and Front
b2: He's gotten a number of requests from other publishers saying, "Please draw for us," but is it okay for him to draw for anyone other than "Jump"?
a2: The favored child of the internet age basks in high praise in the manga world!!
b3: It's not like he signed any contract so it's not like it matters
b4a: When you see someone doing things like this, it makes you think that those who bring their works directly to the editorial division are idiots
b4b: All you have to do is post it on the internet and add a comment like "Is there any publisher who would like me to draw for them?". It's rather smart
b5: Our judging was done in vain
b6a: Not really
b6b: It's a pretty important point of contention that it reached the final selection of "Jump"'s Treasure...
b7: But it kinda sucks that there've been comments that neither the editorial division nor Ashirogi Muto know how to judge a manga
b8: But it really is rather smart, in a sense.........
b9: ?

02
b1a: Hiramaru-kun! The name you faxed over wasn't interesting at all!
b1b: What happened to your usual dose of negativity!?
b2a: The way I am right now, there's no way I could write anything negative~~~ Ahahaha~~~
b2b: Ah~~~ It's so good to be alive
b3: Haahh~
b4: .........
b5a: Kosugi, don't worry too much
b5b: No-one expected him to upload it to the internet
b6: I guess I really am unlucky after all
b7a: You don't have time to be depressed, do you?
b7b: So many other companies are aiming to make Nanamine-kun draw for their magazines. You've gotta make him draw something interesting for "Jump"
b8: I know that.........
b9: Kosugi, the editor in chief wants to see you
b10: EHHH?? Am I getting demoted already?
b11: Don't be an idiot. Hurry up and go

03
b1: I'm so sorry! To think something like that actually happened
b2: He's doing his own advertisement, so think of this as your big chance
b3a: Eh...
b3b: Okay...
b4: Just because he's highly rated on the internet doesn't necessarily mean that he'll do well in the magazine. But like I said during the judging meeting, Nanamine-kun has talent
b5: Both his dialogue and artwork are good
b6: But if he wants to draw for "Jump", you need to guide him so he doesn't do something like this again
b7a: Okay...
b7b: Why did a kid capable of writing something like that...... He ought to at least know right from wrong......
b8a: .........
b8b: You're right.........

04
b1: Bring him to see me
b2a: Eh...
b2b: Is he going to be monitored by the editor in chief as well?
b3: You could say that
b4: But I'd just like to meet him
b5: ......... I understand. Nanamine-kun's day off is on Friday, so the meet will probably happen on a Friday
b6: Alright. Confirm the date and let me know
b7a: EHHHHHH!! I GET TO MEET THE EDITOR IN CHIEF AT THE EDITORIAL DIVISION!? AWESOMEEE!!
b7b: I'm so honored! Yes, Friday's great!
b7c: I can just wear my normal clothes, right!? Should I bring a present!?
b8: No... You don't need to bring a present... But you're being monitored by the editor in chief himself, so you'd best come with that frame of mind...
s1: pi
b9: ...... Honestly...... He doesn't have a modicum of malice in him. He's really a good kid~~...

05
b1a: Sensei! I saw it on the internet!
b1b: Why didn't "Shinjitsu no Kyoushitsu" win a prize?
b2: I thought it was interesting too!
b3: Actually, we did give rate it highly
b4: But it seems it was deemed unsuitable for "Shounen Jump"
b5a: So that's really what happened......
b5b: It was the first manga I'd read in a long time that made my heart beat so fast and kept me turning the pages
b6: Me too
b7: It's that amazing? I wanna read it too!
b8: Just run a search on "Shinjitsu no Kyoushitsu", and you'll be able to read it
b9a: Never mind Shiratori-kun, there are still people out there overflowing with such talent...
b9b: Just thinking what a gem was found makes me lose all confidence in myself...
text below b9: ohh...
b10: I'll read it as soon as I get home!
b11: .........
b12: Good work today!

06
b1: Just as I thought, anyone who looks at Nanamine-kun would think he's talented
b2a: It won't be so easy for him in "Jump", but he's really at a level where it wouldn't be weird to see him serialized in a seinen magazine
b2b: Makes me wonder why he didn't just submit it to a seinen magazine in the first place
b3: I wonder... I think it's fine to write the way he did, and in fact, if you don't...
b4: Shuujin, you did say you wanted to write something like that, didn't you?
b5: Yeah, a morally ambiguous battle manga
b6a: ...... This is just what I think
b6b: But I don't think "Shinjitsu no Kyoushitsu" counts as a battle
b7: Well, it's different from the battle mangas that involve punching and kicking
b8a: If you're talking about a morally ambiguous battle manga, then you have to fight or it's not a battle
b9: ?
b8b: "Shinjitsu no Kyoushitsu" differs from your normal battle manga in that it deals with the psychological battle between oneself and also with an invisible enemy
b8c: That's why it doesn't have much action, and isn't very flashy either. It's not quite "Jump"'s usual fare, and there's a limit

07
b1: So you're saying why not do a morally ambiguous, yet typical battle manga...
b2a: !
b2b: A morally ambiguous, yet typical battle... I see!
b3: ............ Do you get the feeling that we seem to keep saying things like this?
b4: Eh?
b5a: Serious humor...
b5b: Morally ambiguous battles...
b5c: Morally ambiguous, yet typical...
b6: It always sounds cool in name... But when you actually do it... It doesn't quite materialize...
b7a: .........
b7b: Th... That's fine. That's just the way we roll
b8: Morally ambiguous, yet typical, huh... I'll think it over...
b9: ........ But I get the feeling that once we introduce some techniques, it'll end up becoming like any other typical battle manga... Is it just me?
b10: ......... It's just you

08
x1: Friday
b1a: I'm terribly sorry for what happened earlier!
b1b: I did it without thinking because I wanted people to read it and to see their response!
b1c: It was thoughtless of me!
b2: I won't do it again, so please forgive me!
b3: It's good that you want people to read it and to see their response, but showing your manuscript as-is isn't what someone aiming to be a pro ought to do
b4: Yes, I'm sorry
b5: You're right! What I did was amateurish! I did something totally uncool! I apologize for my inexperience!
b6a: However, I believe it wouldn't be a bad idea to do something like this to market mangaka in the future!
b6b: Ah, of course, I don't mean you should upload the manuscript form of their works
b7: ......
b8: So that's Nanamine-kun... He looks like the good boy the rumors say he is...
b9: It's refreshing to see someone stating their views so clearly
b10: .........

09
b1a: Anyway, this is the new name I did up for "Shinjitsu no Kyoushitsu" after fixing the things that were pointed out
b1b: If you would have a look...
b2: Umm, Nanamine-kun, looking at that is my job...
b3a: Ah! Is that so!
b3b: You're right! Sorry!
b4: In the first place, you should have told me earlier if you'd fixed it!
b5: If it's a new name for "Shinjitsu no Kyoushitsu", I don't need to see it
b6: Eh
b7: It's already on the internet. I have no interest in publishing it unless it's a completely different piece
b8: No way......
b9a: It's alright!
b9b: It's an entirely different piece
b10: Eh! You mean you redid the entire "Shinjitsu no Kyoushitsu"...
b11a: I realized it right away myself! "Shinjitsu no Kyoushitsu" was a no-go because I uploaded it!
b11b: This was my responsibility and I had to draw something different!
b11c: When I thought this way, more and more ideas came to me...
b12: This is a piece suitable for "Shounen Jump" that I've got confidence in!

10
b1: I want to draw for "Shounen Jump" no matter what, and I poured my heart and soul into drawing this, so please!
b2: I've already caused such a scandal, so if this is no good, then I'll have no choice but to go to a seinen magazine
b3: I... I understand, I'll take a look at it, but let's finish our discussion with the editor in chief first
b4: ......
b5: I might as well. Let me have a look
b6: Eh
b7: Wow! Please do
b8: The editor in chief himself...
b9: Interesting

11
b1: YAAAAY!
b2: Excuse me, may I...
b3: ......... The editor in chief actually saying a newbie's work is "interesting"...
b4: Th... That's big
b5: This could really work even in "Shounen Jump"... And it's really interesting...
b6: I know, riiiight!! I worked myself to the bone drawing that, so I want it to be serialized in "Shounen Jump" no matter what!!
b7: Since you've already done the marketing for us and made it such a big topic
b8: Let's publish it as a one-shot before the hype dies down. I'll pass around the more completed name
b9a: OHHHHHH! A one-shot in the main magazine! Yaaaay!
b9b: I'm amazing! I'm super duper amazing!
b10a: I can't guarantee anything, but at this level, you stand a very good chance
b10b: Furthermore, you've made your enthusiasm to work for "Shounen Jump" very clear to all of us
b11a: Yes!
b11b: I'm a huge fan of Ashirogi Muto-sensei!
b11c: I want to become a mangaka like Ashirogi-sensei!
b11d: And I aimed to draw for "Shounen Jump" so that I could meet Ashirogi-sensei
a1: ...... Nanamine-kun's talent is the real deal......... I guess I really am lucky after all...

12
b1a: And so...
b1b: Will you let me meet Ashirogi-sensei!?
b2: !
b3: Hmm... That would be... What do you say, Kosugi......?
b4: Eh...
b5: Kosugi-san, please! Please! It's my dream!
b6: ....... Umm... Wai... Even so, I can't... It's so sudden...
b7: Please do something!
b8: ........
b9: How should I put this... He's really persuasive...
b10: ...... There's no helping it, I guess......
b11a: Nanamine-kun, I'll ask Ashirogi-kun what time is good for them
b11b: They just submitted their manuscript yesterday, so if you're lucky, they might be free today
b12: Uwah! Really? Please do!
b13a: Saikou, about that morally ambiguous, yet typical battle
b13b: Oh, a call
b13c: It's Hattori-san
b14: (music notes)
b15: Remember Nanamine-kun, the one who drew "Shinjitsu no Kyoushitsu" that you two judged? He says he would like to meet Ashirogi-sensei---
b16: Nanamine-kun! He's always sent us fan letters, so we wanna meet him too
b17: Right?
b18: Yeah

13
b1: They said that they were happy to receive your fan letters and would love to meet you too
b2: Uwaa! Amazing! Oh crap! Am I dreaming!?
b3: Kosugi, I'm not free today, so would you please bring Nanamine-kun over today?
b4: Ah, yes... Somehow...
b5: Please! Please!
b6: He said he'd be here at 6pm
b7: Uwah, that's sudden... I'm kinda nervous
b8a: Even if we're not nervous...
b8b: I mean, he's a fan of Ashirogi... It's kinda embarrassing
b8c: And I heard Nanamine-kun saying "Am I dreaming?".........
b9: ...... But why's he coming over so suddenly?
b10: It seems that he was called over to the editorial division for something
b11: Ah, over the internet uploading incident
b12: Did he get called over there, run into Hattori-san and say he wanted to meet us? That's pretty shameless of him...
b13: That's just what we think happened, but we don't actually know if it happened that way

14
b1: Back then, I could all but feel the bolts of electricity shooting through my veins!
b2: Just as advertised, you two were 15-year-old geniuses! I became a fan that instant, bought a copy of "Akamaru" and re-read it 30 times that day alone!
b3: Oh wow~~~ I'm happy to hear that...
b4: ...... But that issue of "Akamaru" also had Niizuma-sensei's "CROW", so why only ours...
b5: Niizuma-sensei doesn't think when he draws, now does he!
b6: Nanamine-kun, you're really sharp
b7: .........
b8a: On the other hand, Ashirogi-sensei's "Kono Yo wa Kane to Chie" was written after everything had been thought through thoroughly (TN: Kono Yo wa Kane to Chie - This World is All About Money and Intelligence)
b8b: And to write something like "Kono Yo wa Kane to Chie" at the age of 15! It's stupefying! I thought to myself, if I'm going to draw too, it just has to be something like this!
b9: Nanamine-kun's "Shinjitsu no Kyoushitsu" is pretty harsh as well
b10: I know, right? Ashirogi-sensei's influence on me is great! Or should I say, I incorporated all the best parts of Ashirogi-sensei's works!
s1: pupupu...
b11: Sorry, it's from the editorial division...

15
b1: Kosugiiii! What happened to the Present Page!! Have you even started on it!?
b2: Ah, I'm sorry, it slipped my mind
b3: It slipped your mind!? Don't joke with me!!
b4: Nanamine-kun, I'm sorry, I have something important to see to. I mean, I missed a deadline and need to rush back
b5: EHHH!? But we haven't even been here 10 minutes!
b6: It's near the station, and Nanamine-kun can go home on his own
b7: That's right. I'm not a kid. I'll be fine even without my editor! And I'm just hitting it off with Ashirogi-sensei
b8a: I guess you're right.........
b8b: But Nanamine-kun talks a lot, so I was worried you might say something wrong
b9: Ahaha, nah, I probably did already
b10: Nah, you didn't. Well, you'll be fine, right! ........ In that case, I'm really sorry, but I'll take my leave now
b11: Okay! Thank you very much! I'm really grateful that you gave me a chance to meet Ashirogi-sensei! Thank you!
a1: Somehow... He seems overly polite.......?

16
b1: Actually, I'll be getting a one-shot published
b2: !?
b3: ?
b4: I've always been thinking about how to debut in the fastest time possible...
a1: ? What? ......
b5a: Of course the best way is to win a prize in Treasure...
b5b: And if you reach the final selection and get an editor, then you get your one-shot published in NEXT!......... The next step you have to take is trying to get your stuff in the main magazine
b5c: That's troublesome, and it's like taking a roundabout route
b6: If one just creates a little problem and gets called to the editorial division... And brings along a new name with him... ................. Well, I certainly didn't think I'd really have the editor in chief look it over right there and then...
a2: His tension suddenly changed drastically...
b7: ......
b8: E... Even his expression...
b9: ...... So the reason you uploaded your work online was...
b10a: Yes. It was sink or swim, but I made the right move
b10b: I had confidence in my own work, and I knew that once I did something like that, they couldn't just leave me alone

17
b1: So you really did plan all of this...
b2a: Just what I would aspect of Ashirogi-sensei
b2b: Not a single person in the editorial division so much as suspects me of planning anything
b2c: Then again, I am, of course, putting up an act so they won't suspect me
b3: It was neither lawfully nor ethically right of me to upload a work that had reached the final selections of my own accord. I know that. I'm not an idiot
b4: ......
b5a: Don't look like that. You've experienced it before, haven't you, Ashirogi-sensei
b5b: Two of your one-shots got published one after another... In the case of "Hashire! Daihatsu Tanto", it was the two of you who made the call for it to be ended, correct? (TN: Hashire! Daihatsu Tanto - Run! Great Inventor Tanto)
b5c: If you didn't do something drastic, you couldn't have even done that
b6: He figured that much out!
b7a: We mangaka have to do something ourselves. In that respect, Ashirogi-sensei is amazing... I believe you are worthy of my respect
b7b: You guys are young, but you didn't listen to the editorial division

18
b1: I don't trust editors
b2: Especially my own editor. He's no good
b3: What does some 23 or 24-year-old who's fresh out of university and did nothing but study all day know about manga? We know better
b4: Wouldn't you agree?
b5: .........
b6: .........
b7: If you told them to go try drawing a manga, I guarantee you they wouldn't be able to draw anything decent or come up with a single story
b8: ... But they can give you advice
b9: That's right. It's important to get opinions

19
b1: That's why I uploaded it. The worth of the opinions of 10 members of the general public far outweigh the worth of the opinions of a single editor
b2: Of course, these 10 people have to actually know their stuff about manga
b3a: ......
b3b: You have a point
b4: ! ... Hey
b5a: I've already got a pool of 50 people willing to give me their opinions after they saw the piece I uploaded the last time
b5b: I picked these 50 people from among the thousands of people who commented on my work
b6: The name I brought to the editorial division today? They had a look first, and we went over it together and further improved it over and above the things that the editorial division had said to change
b7a: Thanks to them, I'm getting this one-shot published in just one try. Don't you think this is an excellent method?
b7b: I'll show you that I can make it to the top of Jump with this method
b8: .........
a1: ... How daring!!

The raws on Raw-Bunko are pretty good quality. The resolution is high and they don't cut off the pages, just they pre-clean them which means you'd need to work with that.

Thanks for doing this, too. Like the job you did.

i agree the quality is pretty good, but it turned out sucks when leveling those blacks.

@galooza if you are talking about mangacurse , they paid molokidan to translate for them , which i think is a big mistake , but its their money , no1 can blame them
ps.our chapter only needs qc , but its work time for all the qc's right now so its getting nowhere at the moment

I don't know why the page I saw had Saladesu's name as the TL, but after looking, I can see the trans is different so forget I said anything.
