Medaka Box 51
Then you tell me.
This is for CxC's use only.
page 1
b1) Kurokami Medaka-chan II, was it? // What a stupid version up name.
b2) I'm going to kick that silly brain of yours around and degrade you back to the real Medaka-chan.
panel1) Believing that a piece of her mind still remains...!!
box1) Why is it... // that when I look at this guy...
box2) The tears don't stop flowing no matter what I do?
panel2) Don't worry, Medaka-chan. // The memories you have from 13 years ago, // will never be removed!
page 2
panel) Zenkichi vs. Medaka II!! The fight to bring back Kurokami Medaka!
title) Then you tell me.
page 4
b1) Hmm.
b2) What an intense kick fight. Even I would have to call this amazing.
b3) Koga, how about this? Since you go around bragging that you're the strongest girl in the party,
b4) why don't you try going in there and having some fun?
b5) Come on now...
b6) Don't try to be mean, Oudo-san.
b7) There isn't a person in the galaxy...
b8) that would be able to get in between those two.
page 5
b1) Hitoyoshi!
b2) Calm down,
b3) it's not as bad as it looks.
b4) However... I feared this would be the case. // Now that Medaka-san has learned to dodge attacks because of Takachiho's reflexes,
-I was SOOO tempted to call her Megaman back there.-
b5) Hitoyoshi-kun isn't much of a match...
page 6
b1) Those are my syringes!! When did she take those? // And that skill was Munakata-senpai's hidden weapons!
panel) It was the same with Takachiho-senpai, and Miyakonojou-senpai! // Whatever skill she experiences, she copies... no. More like she makes it a part of herself!
b2) That's because, from as long as I can remember,
b3) Medaka-chan was the kind that you show her how to do something, and she'd be able to do it.
page 7
b1) But, myself included, there was a single person...
b2) who could teach Medaka-chan anything.
b3) KAH!
b4) No matter how many times you stab me with these syringes, I'm not going down! You won't take me down like this!
b5) Why don't you try getting serious with me!?
box1) I've been trying...
box2) to get serious.
box3) It's not like I'm not attacking him because he's a long friend of mine, // hesitation like that was taken away from me by Miyakonojou-san.
box4) However, I do know why I can't. // I also know that continuing to kick him won't get me anywhere.
page 8
box1) Because this guy, Hitoyoshi Zenkichi, no matter what's done to him,
box2) will not change his beliefs.
box3) This is probably because the medicine is still in effect, and my memories haven't returned yet,
box4) but my feet and where I'm aiming aren't the same. // That's why I haven't been able to land a clean hit.
box5) However, if you look at it from another point of view,
box6) You can say that's what's keeping me from becoming the perfect(complete) me.
box7) There's no need to rush, // If I just recall what my brother was talking about,
box8) those memories, I'll be fine.
page 9
-ANOTHER damn flash back!!! I'm getting sick of these!!!-
box1) 15 years ago,
box2) when I was born,
box3) my mother died.
box4) It wasn't because it was a difficult birth, or there were some problems. It was a normal, healthy delivery.
box5) After hearing my first cries, she had a heart attack and died.
box6) This is what I thought,
box7) {That she was brought into this world for the sole purpose of giving birth to me. And now that her role is complete, she died}
box8) when I first heard that story.
box9) Afterwards, I was taken to the Kurokami household. // And I thought the father I met for the first time, the legal mother I met, and the older siblings were all nice people, but...
box0) I still remember thinking that it was a bit nasty that the Kurokami group was nothing more than a nice coffin // that was prepared for me.
page 10
b1) ugh...
b2) Oh!
b3) That one was a clean hit!!
panel) Did Hitoyoshi-kun's kick surpass her reflexes? No... in fact, // it's like she purposely got hit with that one...
box1) There was no such thing as infancy to me.
box2) I matured at an alarmingly fast rate. // By the time I was 6 months old, I was already bigger than my brother and sister.
page 11
box1) Also, what was inside matured faster than what was visible to everyone. // It took only 3 months to read every book that was in the vast library at the Kurokami mansion.
box2) Before I was ever 1 year old, // I wasn't too different than I am now, I kept filing away knowledge in my head.
box3) At first, the adults were amazed and quite interested in me,
box4) but not long after, they started to think of me as sickening and left.
box5) There was a time when I listened to a mathematician that was a friend of my father's. // I eagerly tried to figure out the problem he gave to me.
box6) But I heard through the grape vine // that he handed in his letter of resignation after meeting me.
page 12
b1) What's going on here? Are you falling asleep on me?
b2) Your movements are becoming dull!
box1) It wasn't just that mathematician,
box2) there were other people's lives // that came to an end because of me.
box3) Their diligence and desperation were // made to be futile after meeting me.
box4) I'd get a little sad when I thought that. // But it didn't leave an impression on me.
panel1) However, as those things kept happening, // I started to think: then why was I even born?
box5) I never once thought of myself as being superior. // However, if I say I never thought of those around me as fools, I'd be lying.
box6) I thought of myself as iniquitous. // Although I could understand everything, I didn't know why I was born.
page 13
box1) When I turned 2, I went out for the first time.
box2) And the place I was taken to, was a hospital.
box3) It's not like there was anything wrong with me, I was the prime definition of healthy.
box4) But that hospital was the place to send atypical kids like me. // It was there they did tests to see exactly what our exceptional ability would best be suited for.
-Yes, I avoided using abnormal for her little soliloquy-
box5) Now that I'm here looking back on it, that must have been a starting point for the FLASK plan.
box6) I didn't think there was something the doctors knew that I didn't, but... // I did think they could tell me why it was that I was born.
box7) So I was a little excited.
box8) However...
b1) Seriously, what do they mean 'what reason'? // They're all adults, but they're missing the point.
page 14
b1) People are born for no reason.
b2) They live unrelated.
b3) And die worthlessly.
b4) You think the same thing, right?
b5) uhh...
b6) Medaka-chan?
name plate) Kumagawa Misogi
b7) Kumagawa-kun.
b8) Please go to room 5.
b9) You ended a lot of people before coming here, right? // That's fine.
-that's NOT an error, it's supposed to say that.-
b0) Whatever the two of us do is totally fine.
page 15
b1) Because there's no goal to life,
b2) There's no point to being alive.
box1) That was the only time I ever saw that boy. // From what I heard from the head doctors,
box2) he had no shortcomings (abnormality) and was released.
box3) On the other hand, I was held there.
box4) But that was an absolute waste of time.
page 16
box1) People are born for no reason, live unrelated, and die worthlessly.
box2) There's no gaol to life, and there's no point to being alive. // I didn't think there was any reason more correct than that.
box3) My mother's death, and the other people's dejection wasn't my fault,
box4) When I thought like that, I'd feel a little better.
box5) I could really feel at ease.
box6) It's because I felt like that that I kept going to those ridiculous exams everyday. // But one day, I escaped from the exam room.
b1) HEY! Where did #13, Kurokami Medaka, go!? // FIND HER!!
b2) She couldn't have gotten too far!!
b3) Why didn't you lock the door?
b4) I DID lock the door.
box7) It turned out to be a bigger deal than I thought it would've been.
box8) And because of that, I couldn't escape outside.
page 17
sign) Nursery room.
box1) I ran into the nursery room.
box2) It's the room where the doctors and nurses send their kids while on call.
box3) As luck would have it, I chose the best time to go there.
box4) There was only one other person in that room.
box5) Until the excitement dies down, I decided to hide myself in there.
box6) So I tried to greet the kid that was there before me.
b1) Hey.
b2) Why are you taking so long to figure out such a simple puzzle? // Give it here.
b3) I'll solve it for you.
page 18
box1) Now that I'm older and know better, I did nothing more than steal a toy from a child. // Although I was only 2 years old, that's still something I shouldn't have done.
box2) Also, the only way I knew how to introduce myself, was to show off my anomaly to whomever is there.
box3) That's the only way I was taught to handle people.
box4) Even if it ended up causing a rift between us.
b1) Here, I'm done.
b2) Wow, you're amazing!! // How did you solve the puzzle?
b3) Thanks, I'm really happy!
b4) You don't need to thank me.
b5) I could've done that in my sleep.
b6) Oh really?
b7) Then can you do this one too?
page 19
box1) It's not like I had anything better to do, so I did as he asked and solved the puzzle. // There were a lot of puzzles all over the place that were too hard for kids of this age,
box2) But to me, they all looked like puzzles for kids of this age.
b1) WOW!! You really did solve all the puzzles!
b2) You're really something special! You're amazing!
b3) It's not amazing. // And even if it was, there's no merit to it.
b4) From my being born, // to me living right now,
b5) there's no meaning to either of them.
b6) huh? You really think so?
b7) I don't think there's something meaningless in this world.
b8) Then you tell me, // Why on earth was I born?
b9) Oh, that's a simple question!
b0) We've only just met, but look at how happy you've made me.
page 20, 21
b1) I'm sure you were...
b2) born to make the people around you happy!
page 22
b1) ENOUGH WITH YOUR DAMN GAMES!!
b2) WHY HAVEN'T YOU BEEN DODGING MY KICKS!?
b3) ...by you.
b4) There's no reason for me to be attacked by you,
b5) Therefore, // there's no reason for me to dodge.
page 23
box1) That's right, // I'm sure you don't remember anymore,
box2) but because of those words you said to me, I was able to start living as myself.
box3) Because you taught me my reason for living,
box4) I became me.
-sigh, not only is this author long winded, he's confusing AND annoying!-
panel) It really was still in a corner of her mind, the memory from 13 years ago!!
