-Mhm, mhm
-You mean that man challenged ten others to fencing duels, and defeated them with this decorative-looking sword?
right: This man loves his weapons!
-Correct. Afterwards, he was arrested for violating the ban on duels
-Hou
-It's pretty rusted (錆), as if he wasn't able to wipe the blood off afterwards
-But I believe he didn't want to wipe it off
-He wanted to watch the blood drizzle (滴る) down his blade /small: I know the feeling

-Hey Roland, help me test this out a sec, will you?
-NO WAY!
-Ch...He's very stingy, isn't he Camus?
-I'm just fine being stingy, thank you very much!
-Belmonde is truly a strange person
-Although, he has been locked underground in this cloister (修道院) since he was born...
-It's surprising that he doesn't want to see the outside world
small: Hm?
small: You put on a little weight
small: Meow
small: (Really?)
-It must be because he's this kind of person
-That Cardinal Richelieu chose to entrust this top secret work to him
04
-After all, Belmonde possess a power abhorred by our society, as he comes from the line of "witches"
-I'm sure that as the leader of this country, Cardinal Richelieu does not want anyone to learn of that fact
-Including me...I have to protect this secret down to my death
-You can do it, Roland!
-WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!
-Hm? Isn't it okay to test out my new sword if I sneak up slowly?
-NO!! BESIDES, ISN'T THAT THE SWORD YOU ALWAYS USE?!
-ahem...Since you have accepted the sword as your payment, then allow me to explain today's re--
----But before tha-a-a---t!!
-W-what is Mademoiselle Celine doing here?!
-I had some time to spare
-Besides, thanks to him, father returned home safely!
05
-This really isn't a place for a noble's daughter (貴族令嬢)...
-Roland, shut up!
-Is it okay, monsieur Belle?
-Don't get in my way
-OKAY!
-Just when did she get so close to him?!
small: "monsieur BELLE"!?
-If you will excuse me, I'll go fetch the prisoner
-YOU INSOLENT FOO-----LS!
-How dare you bring me, Baron Machoire (マシュワル), to this filthy underground prison!
-Do you have any idea of what you're doing!!?
06
-Well,
-Since my birth, I have never stepped foot outside
-So you could say I'm a bit lacking in common sense
-Haa!? Hey, jailer! What nonsense does he speak!?
-It's true.
-Naturally, very few people know of me
-You could even say that I don't exist
-So no one will believe in the things
-that I'm about to do to you
-...huh??
-What do you mean?
07
-Wow. Looks like there's going to be some torture involved too. (in monotone 棒読み) [t/n - use periods, it's the only way i can think to emphasize monotone]
-Oh really. That's terrible. (in monotone)
-(Celine is really getting worked up) ノリノリ
-T-there's no way the Cardinal would allow such an act!!
-Shut it.
-Eeee!!
お前らみたいなのがいるせいであのジイさんも奇麗事を言ってられなくなっているのだろう
-It's because there's people like you that even the old man can't afford to be fair in every case.**
**(EDIT: 勉強になりました。 This expression, 奇麗事を言ってられない means "can't afford to be nice/fair"...watch out for kireigoto.)
-Roland, explain his background
-Right away
08
-His name is Baron Machoire マシュワル
.
男爵と言っても剣によって王に仕えてきた伝統的な貴族ではなく
-Although a Baron in name, by his sword he is not of the traditional line of nobles who serve the king. (t/n - i dont know history here, so someone if you may - what does he mean by his sword? did the swords people possessed display rank?)
-Rather, by means of some connection he bought his title as a noble
-In other words, he is a "parvenu". (t/n - This japanese word here is the same as this french word. The furigana isn't there but I found it by dictionary. called 成り上がり, means someone who recently climbed the social ladder)
-Hmph
-Oh, my!
-They give us traditional nobles a bad name!
-Stop your foolish talk! (戯けええ!)
-Old-fashioned nobles like you who don't have a single dime--
-You're the fakes!!
-Oi, you want me to push this sword over to your side?
-Uwa--!!
09
-The reason he has been arrested is to find if he has connections to a band of thieves called the "brochette"
ブルゴーニュ一帯を荒らす強盗団”ブロシュットゥ”(串焼き)が稼いだ金がマシュワル男爵のもとに流れているのでは・・・と
-This band has been burglarizing the region of Bourgogne, and there is suspicion that they have been channeling their funds to the Baron
(t/n - bourgogne = burgundy. it's just the french spelling)
-Oh, I see! Based on your stolen profits you used it to buy a noble's status!
-What nerve!
-What rubbish! Just where is your proof!
-Our spies' (密偵) information is completely reliable, but it isn't proof
-Like I said!!
-So that's it? You want me to examine him to make him spit out the location of the thieves' hideout?
-That means he must be a member of the band!
-We can bring down the whole group at once
-Hah! There's no way I can confess something I know nothing about!
-Just how hard do you think I had to work to get this noble status??
-Torture? That's nothing but a bluff!
-No way! There's no way they'll get anything out of me!
10
-I-I'LL CONFESS!!
-I-I'LL CONFESS, SO PLEASE!!
-STOP THIS AT ONCE!!!

何人も我が前にて真実を語らずること能わず
-There is no one who can resist speaking the truth before me!
-His body is falling into little wooden-like pieces
-Wh-what the heck is this?!
-Am I dreaming?!
-This bizzare method is Belmonde's way of interrogating
-His mother, who was burned at the stake, was a witch. Assuming that story is true...then he's inherited that power
12
-Hey, you just said you'd confess, didn't you?
-So spit it out--where's the thieves' hideout?
-N-No...I was just scared and said that without thinking!
-I really don't know anything!!
耐えろ!!とにかく絶えるのだ!
-I just have to endure!! It will be over sooner or later!
(t/n - i wrote this out b/c it's an excellent lesson. both those kanji are taeru, but the meaning is different.)
-fufu...Oh really?
うむ・・・悪党はそれくらい抵抗してくれんとな
-mhm....you're a criminal, so of course you'd be this stubborn
-What is he doing?
-He's...lining up the squares of the Baron's body...
-Yosh! All done!
13
-It's beautiful, if I do say so myself (我ながら)
-Yosh! I think I'll toast to myself as a reward!
-What are you doing, drinking at a time like this!?
small: what reward!? (or maybe better would be "reward for what!?")
-Oops, drinking by myself shows no manners
この酒は酔いが早いぞ
-Go ahead, have a sip. But I gotta warn you, it's pretty strong.
-That's not what I meant!!!
-Ah!! open wide!
-H-hey!! Where are you pouring it!?
-lalalalala lala la la (:))
14
-All right!
-Well now, this looks like the best place for a candle!
-Take a moment to imagine...if just one piece were to fall from your side,
-each little piece of your body would fall this way, one after the other...
-and the last piece would fall onto this candle
-...then, that last piece would catch fire because of the wine...
-that fire would go right down the line in just seconds, reaching back to you in the end
-H-He's going to burn me alive!?
-Wwhat the heck is he thinking!?

-Once he shows this opening, his victim cannot resist his final question!
”我汝の深き黒淵にて偽りなき白瀬を望む”
-"I desire information free of lies from deep within the depths of your darkness"
-Answer me! Where is the hideout of the Brochette?
-A--aAaa---!

-Because Belmonde, by means of his magic power,
解錠 ウヴリール (unlock)

-And now, a toast to our joyous future...

-I'll relay the message to the bourguignons officials at once //edit - fixed. thanks death4578!
-They should be able to arrest them all at once
-Mm...
-Make sure to tell them not to forget their firearms
-Once again, the efforts of Belmonde has saved the citizens of France from a serious threat
-I'm certain the Cardinal will be pleased as well
-Uh, monsieur Belle, why is it that neither you nor the prisoner are burned?
-This fire is what's known as the "Silent blue flame" ”静寂の青炎”(せいじゃくのせいえん)
24
-In addition to the usual fuel, with the sap of a Kurokami Cedar, the wing of a Hashika moth, the blood of a Mizohiki Lizard, (t/n - i can't figure out what these things are, i'm guessing they're made up. does anyone else know? btw there's no kanji for the names, only kana so this is all the info we're given)

Baron Mashuwaru: no clue, but there are french words that end in eux, like Bordeaux, bureau...so your suggestion of Mathieu sounds reasonable to me. ^^;;;
お前らみたいなのがいるせいであのジイさんも奇麗事を言ってられなくなっているのだろう
-It's because there's people like you that the old man has had to break his promises**
奇麗事を言: Does it lit. mean empty promises? or more like beautiful facade?
From the context, it seems like cardinal richelieu had been torturing prisoners all along while pretending not to. So " It's thanks to folks like you that the old man can't keep up his facade ".
Oh btw, he's actually a sadist not a masochist.
Belle is an adjective used for feminine words like "une belle fille" (a beautiful girl) or "une belle peinture" (a beautiful picture), but it's still possible there is a person named Monsieur Belle or Madame Belle in France :)
For the second point, I don't think there is any french name which would finish with a "-ru".
Even if these words end by -eux, they are read like "Bordo" and "Buro" because "-eau" is pronunciated like "o"
Maybe she made pun on his name and his beauty?
(I'm looking at you Xoph.)
Thank you everyone! I love it when a translation is more of a team effort :)
Okay let's see,
silver_sea - yes, i edited the line in question. Someone explained to me that kireigoto has another rendering...just check it above. I changed the color back to dark red since it's fixed.
to zindryr and all commenting on the name - marshwalle sounds much more believable. The closest I can come now is Marshalle...let me know what everyone thinks!
xi0 - lol looks like I gotta go wikipedia S&M again
I think the most suitable name for Baron Mashuwaru is Machoire (this means jaw in French, it seems). Mathieu is not even close when it comes to pronouncing, as for Marshalle, I'm not sure how French it is, and then there's that r in Marshalle that cannot be found in Mashuwaru... I'm not 100% sure about it though, better wait for a real French speaker to confirm.
The french word would be "bourguignons" :)
Yeah, "Machoire" means jaw in french but it's not really a very common family name :p
