Aoi: What’s wrong with you suddenly? First of all, didn’t you know my name?
Matsuoka: N—but, I don’t remember your family name—
Aoi: Family name!? Um, I dream my family name is…”Yume”.
(TN: This is a weird bit that only works in Japanese: as Aoi begins to say what her family name is, the first thing she says is “Yume”, which she makes her name. “Yume” is Japanese for “dream” and somehow having Aoi just spit that out in a translated English didn’t make that much sense. I tried to keep the joke by having her say that “she dreamed her name was…”, therefore coming up with the Japanese word “yume”…but it really probably doesn’t work as well.)
Matsuoka: Where’s your seat? Isn’t that seat Yamamoto-san’s…
Boy: Yamamoto-san is there?
Girl: Isn’t it around here…
Aoi: You’re mean…

Q: I’ve been collecting “Wingman” colors and have bought three copies of “Weekly Shonen Jump”. I had cut out the color pages in one issue, wrap it in Saran Wrap and happily place it on my desk. Whenever I look at it, it wills me with “I will study”!! Fufufu…how’s that? My “Wingman Preservation Method”--?

TN: Yeah I probably shouldn't have done the "author commentary" at the end of the volume but...that's how I get sometimes. So what can I really say about this chapter? Well for one thing, Katsura did a nice job in using a more generic title and finding ways that allow for several characters to get suspicious of various things here and there. We have Kenta suspicious that a Podreams assassin is finally after him, we have Aoi suspicious on the true effect of her powers in the 3-D world, we have Matsuoka suspicious of Aoi's even existence when she wasn't even in this class yesterday, and we have Miku suspicious...in Kenta and Aoi's relationship! It is right: the two just really interacted for the first time the other day and now she's getting jealous...you could say it's fast but in time terms, this is the 8th chapter, meaning two months have probably passed in the real world and people were probably waiting for something like this to happen by now. My only worry: the more I see Miku, the more I see her like Hinata...it's hard for me to see her the same again, but of course everyone knows of Hinata and probably won't want to hear a thing about how some girl from a manga over 25 years old did this first. (well probably many others but in particular) Well with the volume over and done with, I'm moving on to start something else, but more Wingman is coming soon...hopefully.

BTW: Don't really know about that "theme song" that person wrote in the letter sections...but if anyone wants a copy of "Ijigen Story", the REAL anime theme song, just ask.
