Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 24
Live or Die! Rugby
-> RTS Page for Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 24
Kantou Gougakuren is on the move, with a thousand proud and strong invading Otokojuku during their violent school festival! But with the first-years on alert, is there any way the showdown can be controlled before everything gets ruined!?
Chp. 24: Live or Die! Rugby
132.-133.
Tazawa: Th…they’re………!?
134.
“Leader”: Fuffufu, this is Otokojuku, prided in their independence, going across a period of three-hundred years of pushing aside invasive rule…………The time has finally come for them to surrender to my Kantou Gougakuren.
“Bowing Man”: Though I’m afraid, I wish to make a proposal to the president of the Kantou Gougakuren!!
Head: CHUUGI (LOYALTY)
“Leader”: That’s not difficult. Say it already.
135.
“Bowing Man”: No matter how much Otokojuku has, they naturally won’t have the pride to win since the Kantou Gougakuren will win with the concentrated effort of our thousand!! If you loan me a hundred of the soldiers, I will show you that I can conquer them in an hour!!
“Leader”: Fufufu, leader of the guards Morita Taiki……………fine, I’ll leave this to you.
Morita: Haha—thank you, I’m happy to do this.
Morita: We’ve gotten permission from the president: let’s go!!
Student: …………
Tazawa: Ho…hold on all of you. I don’t know if you’re the Gougakuren or anything, but don’t you have to pay the entrance fee if you want to enter---!!
Student: We don’t get the reason or the era of your speech, just get in line!!
136.
Morita: Fufufu, we have to pay? Fine then. Well, stick out your hand and I’ll pay.
Headband: US-JAPAN SECURITY
Tazawa: ……………………
Tazawa: Hehhehe, I thank you then. We do have a discount for organizations but
Morita: Here.
Tazawa: !!
Tazawa: GYAAA!!
Morita: Fufufu, we have enough time. Shall we look at the attractions for the “School Festival” for a bit?
137.
Onihige: Well, welcome, welcome, here is Otokojuku’s famous “Bloodshed Mansion”, a tragedy of the modern age--!! Our entrance fee is 500 yen!!
Sign: BLOODSHED MANSION
Onihige: Welcome, everyone, to our “Bloodshed Mansion”.
Hidemaro: …………
Onihige: In this mansion, you’ll see hells of the world that you can’t see on TV.
Onihige: Take these countless dosu.
(TN: Not sure if I mentioned it before, but a “dosu” is a type of yakuza sword)
Onihige: From there, you will thrust in those dosu into him. He will cry in pain, but you can thoroughly go ahead to have him writhe to death in agony.
Man 1: This…can’t be…………
Man 2: N…no, since this is Otokojuku, they may have to do this.
138.
Onihige: Soryaa---!!
Hidemaro: Uwaaa---!!
Onihige: Die—go to hell---!!
Hidemaro: Gyaaa---!!
People: ………………
Onihige: Fuffufu, you’re a good actor, Hidemaro. Those stupid customers don’t know that the blood was prepared for your body as a vinyl bag filled with chicken blood and that the dosu pushing and pushing the blade in is a trick.
Hidemaro: Damn this, why must I do this stupid thing again?
Man: This is some stuff…………
139.
Onihige: Stubborn brat, how about this---!!
Hidemaro: Hiee--!!
Morita: Here.
Onihige: Oh, thank you.
Onihige: This final one will end this---!!
Hidemaro: This is really irresponsible.
Hidemaro: !!
140.
Hidemaro: UGYAA---!!
Audience: Ooh!!
Onihige: Wahhaha, that’s great Hidemaro, that’s a real performance--!! That anguished expression: you are an actor.
Hidemaro: He…help me…Teacher, th…that dosu is re…real…
Onihige: Ooh, this will get you an Academy Award.
Hidemaro: Gue!!
Morita: Fufufu, idiots…………
Morita: Well—then, where shall we start? We might as well set it on fire and burn it……………
141.
Morita: !?
“Braid”: Gu…guard leader…!!
Voice: We’re returning you your buddy.
Togashi: Fufufu, isn’t this getting really flashy?
J: You’ve got good courage to meddle with Otokojuku.
142.
“Braid”: Gya!!
Morita: Fufufu, just fine, this eliminates our searching time. Will you surrender to Kantou Gougakuen? Or will we kill all of you…answer to both with one answer.
Momotarou: Wash your face and come back soon, you callus.
Morita: Well.
Onihige: N…no.
Onihige: At this rate, I’m certain there will be great chaos.
Helmet: If that’s it, then there goes the “School Festival”, and there also goes our ten-million yen from these unblessed people.
143.
Morita: KILL THEM--!!
Togashi: Excellent, none of you will go home alive---!!
Onihige: Ho…hold on---!!
Onihige: We seriously can forgive the spilling of blood on our sacred school!! But I’m disappointed in both of you---!!
Togashi: !?
Onihige: If you run amuck with that sort of murdering, that will trouble our ordinary guests!! So here we’re hold a match in Otokojuku’s traditional “Rugby”.
(TN: While we sort of know that “Rugby” refers to a rough ball game similar to American football with no pads and a shorter field, the “Otokojuku” version uses the kanji that translates into “Rome’s Dreaded Beautiful Greatness”)
Momotarou: What……!?
Morita: Rugby………!?
144.
Announcer: An announcement to all in attendance: Here on the second ground behind the school, we’re holding a ceremonial match of Otokojuku’s famous “Rugby”!! A death game from an era where blood was washed with blood: if you miss this, then you will forever regret it. Please, everyone, please attend.
Hikouboshi: Hey, welcome. This match is uniformily a thousand yen for all seats.
Man 1: Stingy.
Man 2: What, we have to give money again?
Hikouboshi: That Onihige is naturally an expert in doing this.
Helmet: But its fine…Otokojuku’s “Rugby” is a rough match that can’t be done without the principal’s approval…
145.
Onihige: Well, let me explain the rule!! Both sides will have 15 players and are free to use any weapons.
Onihige: Next you drink a bit of this. All of you will have one gulp.
(TN: There are a couple Japanese terms that really can’t be stated aside from being noted here: Onihige states “Kono isshoubin wo mawashinomi suru”, which includes “isshou”, which is an old style measure of liquids in Japan that equates to 1800 cc, as well as “mawashinomi”, which is “to drink one after another from one cup”)
Student: What is this, animating sake……?
Togashi: Gue—horrible taste.
Morita: I don’t get why this stupid school would do this. Fufufu, I don’t care if we can kill them somehow.
146.
Onihige: Alright, what all of you drank now is a strong poison called “Hydrochloric Baritorium”. An ordinary adult will die from it after twenty minutes.
Onihige: There’s only one way to save yourselves: you take a dose of the antidote “Enzyme Minatorium” within twenty minutes.
Onihige: Further, the antidote is within a safe that’s beneath both your goals.
147.
Onihige: This is the key.
Onihige: I’m putting it within this steel-type ball.
Onihige: That’s all there is to Otokojuku’s famous “Rugby”. In short: whichever side can take the ball with the key inside, quickly open their safe and drinks the antidote wins!! Naturally, the losing side will all die.
Morita: Well, are your teachers sane?
Momotarou: Fufufu, well shouldn’t we quickly do this with the poison in us?
148.
Comment: Otokojuku’s famous “Rugby”: its origin is long ago in Medieval Europe in the land of England, United Kingdom, where rugby originates. It’s recorded that at that time, it was fashionable among the royalty to have rugby (which was the prototype) teams and compete with each other and would often have brutal practice methods like such to make their own teams stronger.

Announcer: Please listen to those loud cheers falling out as the curtain is lowered on Otokojuku’s famous “Rugby”. Now the ball is being set in the center of the court! Here’s where we start the game that bets life-and-death--!!
Onihige: START--!!
149.
Morita: UOO---!!
Momotarou: LET’S GO--!!
150.
(No dialogue)
TN: It's bizarre that I'm actually saying this right here and now but...I'm happy Onihige saved the day this time. Yes, the idiot teacher that seems to screw up the first-years so many times actually came up with an idea that not only saved the festival but prevented Morita's squad from burning everything up right there and then or fighting with the first-years in direct combat! Yeah sure, everyone may die in twenty minutes thanks to the "conditions" regarding the rugby match, but at least they are bound by it, everyone gets to fight on official terms...and Edajima probably won't be breathing down their backs on destroying school property that isn't done by him. Including the rugby set-up, this was an extremely fun chapter, even if it includes watching Hidemaro get stabbed by a dosu (well OK, the other dosu were real too). But you do have to wonder why "the leader of Kantou Gougakuren" wants to take on Otokojuku so badly...well if Morita fails (or they just all lose in rugby), he'll be in action soon enough...
