Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 33
The Kamikaze Blows
-> RTS Page for Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 33
With the faith of Momo and Toramaru and the powerful cheers of Matsuo and the other first-years, Togashi has resurrected with a new determination, but will that alone be enough to finally take out Hien, even at the cost of his life!?
Chp. 33: The Kamikaze Blows
120.
Hien: Fufufu, are you aiming to hit both of us conversely taking your life? You really are that stubborn.
Togashi: Fufufu, of course. At Otokojuku, I spit up blood while hardening up gallantly every day. From here on, Togashi Genji, Otokojuku First-Year, will show his worth.
121.
Hien: How could you say such nonsense while failing to die---!!
Togashi: Uryaa---!!
Togashi: !!
Hien: Fuffufu, the arm that took the Kakushi Senbon may finally be holding that dosu, but you don’t have even a bit of a chance!!
122.
First-Years: HURRAY HURRAY TOGASHI--!! HURRAY HURRAY TOGASHI--!!
Matsuo: HURRAY HURRAY TOGASHI---!!
Matsuo: Hu……!!
123.
Hidemaro: Ma…Matsuo---!!
Matsuo: You…idiots, don’t worry about me----!!
Tazawa: Ma…Matsuo……!!
Matsuo: I can see his hard fight…Compared to his pain, this is…well, even if our bowels come out of our throat, we will continue to release our “Great Chime” Yell!!
Togashi: Chii!!
Hien: It’s over. This monster will be at peace when I cut open his windpipe.
124.
Hien: !!
Hien: ……………….!!
Togashi: Never get caught in the moment.
125.
Togashi: You gay guy---!!
Hien: Kuu!!
Toramaru: Ooh, that Togashi made a counterattack---!!
Momotarou: ……………………
Date: Fufufu, how long can his Burning Inner Strength continue with the damage he’s taken?
(TN: Date has referred to the “Kajiba no Kusodzikara” or “Burning Inner Strength” phenomenon that is the “empowered second wind” most well known from fellow Jump series “Kinnikuman” by the duo Yudetamago…which coincidentally was running around the same time as Otokojuku at this point)
Togashi: Uoo---!!
126.
Togashi: GE
Hien: Yo…you did this to my beautiful face…………!!
Momotarou & Toramaru: TOGASHI--!!
Togashi: Ugugu……!!
127.
Hien: Fufufu, you have done bad thing.
(TN: I’m actually a bit confused: is Hien mentioning that Togashi has done bad…or is he apologizing for all he has done in this fight to Togashi?)
Hien: This time, you’ll truly be at peace.
Togashi: Uwaaa---!!
Momotarou & Toramaru: To…Togashi---!!
128.
Voice: It’s…gone out---!! To…Togashi’s Lifespan Caedle---¡!
Shura Oshou: Fuohhoho, is the match at Dangachuuran-kan, the 2nd Evil of “Kyoura Daiyon Kyousatsu”, finally over? (Nanmaidabu Nanmaidabu)
Tazawa: Th…that id…idiot.
Student: To…Togashi has…that Togashi has……………
Matsuo: ……………………………………!! ………………………………………………
Tazawa: Ma…Matsuo. His throat is ripped already and doesn’t have any voice, and yet he’s still yelling……
129.
“Matsuo”: HURRAY HURRAY TOGASHI--!! HURRAY HURRAY TOGASHI---!!
Hien: Fufufu, he couldn’t handle me this far.
Date: A disappointing enemy, but a great man.
Rinkai: That’s match for the Dangaichuuran-kan, the 2nd Evil of the “Kyoura Daiyon Kyousatsu”.
Momotarou: …………………………
130.
Narrator: It may have been a weather phenomenon, or called by the determination of Matsuo’s group, who were thinking of their friend…but at that moment, a miracle happened.
Narrator:
It’s referred to as the “Shouryuu Wind”…In meteorology; it is primarily an ascending air current with wind speeds over 100 m/hr that occurs in precipitous cliffs on the northern slopes of mountains above 2,000 meters in elevation. There is a famous tale among mountaineers of a miracle where in 1924, a member of the English Everest climbing expedition commanded by Colonel Scott nearly had his rope cut on the northern cliff and was rescued by this Shouryuu Wind.
-From “World Weather Encyclopedia”, Minmei Publishing
(TN: “Shouryuu” = “Rising Dragon”)
131.
Hien: Huh……!!
Momotarou & Toramaru: !!
132.
Momotarou: To…Togashi………
Rinkai: A Shouryuu Wind……!!
Date: How could he have such bad luck………!!
Togashi: Hehhehe, it’s not bad luck. This usually happens. The shock now even made my arm lose its numbness, and somehow I can use it a bit.
133.
Voice: Lo…Look—Togashi’s Lifespan Candle----!! The Lifespan Candle has lighted up again---!!
Tazawa: To…Togashi isn’t dead---!!
Shura Oshou: Th…that id…idiot…………!!
Tazawa: Ma…Matsuo, our yell has caused a miracle---!!
Tazawa: Ma…Matsuo………!!
Tazawa: Matsuo! No, he cut a blood vessel and has lost consciousness---!!
134.
Hien: Uuuh, le…let go………!!
Togashi: Hehhehhe, quickly let go and you’ll be at peace.
Hien: Well, you see it most important to use the life that you found after dying once to make it a draw.
Togashi: You idiot, I haven’t come to joke around. I’ve soared here from hell blown by the kamikaze so I can take you with.
(TN: The title, as well as this, is mostly in reference to the concept of “kamikaze” or “divine wind”, which is in reference to Japanese pilots who committed suicide with their planes as a last-ditch effort to take out enemy warships)
Togashi: Momo, Tora…I’m already at my limit. I’m going to drag him down to hell with me with all my might. The “Great Chime” yell continued to reach me down there, sent by our allies. Togashi Genji’s way of life was cool, but his way of death is cool as well…………
Momotarou: To…Togashi, don’t die.
Toramaru: A tie is enough!!
135.
Hien: Fufufu, don’t joke around. How can you sincerely do this in your heart?
Togashi: Uh!!
Momotarou: !!
136.
Togashi: Don’t forget me even in hell!! My name is Togashi Genji!! First-Year of Otokojuku, Togashi Genji of the Oil Bath----!!
Hien: Hie!!
137.
Togashi: OTOKOJUKU BANZAI----!!
Togashi: You must win the “Kyoura Daiyon Kyousatsu”!!
Momotarou & Toramaru: TOGASHI---!!
TN: It's amazing...if this were another series, if this were another character, if this was another situation...you would think that a wind that coincidentally blew out of nowhere up Mt. Fuji propelling Togashi to commit a suicide attack to take out Hien would be just the most absurd conclusion to a manga fight ever: a literal deus-es-machina. But...this is Otokojuku, absurd things happen all the time, they mostly happen to Togashi (as he says when he returns thanks to the Shouryuu Wind) and the fine researchers at Minmei Publishing prove that this phenomenon is actually natural and legitimate with zero dispute! Therefore...it was classic. The chapter pretty much solidified the absurd things these students will do to win, from Togashi attacking knowing that more of Hien's senbon would come flying towards him to Matsuo being reduced to mentally cheering for Togashi to...well, the Shouryuu Wind! But in the end, Togashi again wins the day by taking out the Sanmenken idiot with a double sacrifice...but it's obvious Momo's going to feel this sting.
