Date: Fuffufu, you’ve gained a good face, the face of a man who is fighting like a different man from the one before he lost three friends. This is the damages of battle, like my own.
Fuukai: We’re finally in the final stage of the “Kyoura Daiyon Kyousatsu”!! Now let’s go to the 4th Evil!!

Momotarou: J, TOGASHI, TORAMARU……………………I WON’T LOSE. I WILL SURVIVE FOR ALL OF YOU AND WILL WIN THIS “KYOURA DAIYON KYOUSATSU”! THAT IS MY ONLY FAREWELL GIFT TO ALL OF YOU…

TN: This chapter pretty much defines the whole factor regarding the Toramaru/Gekkou fight to me: it seems rather generic on the front, but it has some rather impressive moments in it that sort of make you forget how generic the actual fight itself was. While the last several chapters had stuff like Gekkou's top move and iron skin and Toramaru's farting flamethrower and his usage of ice physics, this chapter literally was defined by Toramaru's sacrifice...and perhaps Momotarou at his most vulnerable as he loses his last teammate and prepares for his final fight with Date alone. Most of the series until now has shown Momo pretty much always cool, calm and confident, knowing how powerful he was and believing that it all would work out with minimal effort. But the Kyoura Daiyon Kyousatsu has shown to him that not everything worked out the way he wants it to and that there is a risk of losing your life, whether your own or your friends, when you delve into the insane world that Otokojuku throws at you. We saw that a few chapters ago when he was prepared to face Gekkou in the ice fight before Toramaru knocked him out: Momo was so desperate to keep someone alongside him and not lose everyone that he was willing to fight a lower opponent if only to make things easier. But watching and nearly killing himself with his slim hope of Toramaru escaping and not sacrificing himself to Gekkou was heart-wrenching to him: his friends knew of the sacrifices and cared to take them regardless while he was so obsessed in his bonds and belief that it can't be this way that he was willing to kill himself in the ice cave thinking it would help Toramaru win instead of preparing for his final battle with Date. Suddenly though I somehow get glimpses of other series, but Momo's trials show true camaraderie as opposed to merely just approaching a goal for some reason or another, even if it could be foolish and shows he himself has a lot to grow with...but hopefully he keeps them with him as he gets to Date and the final battle next time!
