Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 70
Exploding Kenka Sappou
-> RTS Page for Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 70
Though unleashing his "final technique" against Senkuu, Hien has fallen in battle and left the rest of the match to Togashi! But how can a First-Year with no kenpou and merely a dosu and guts manage against his Third-Year opponent!?
Chp. 70: Exploding Kenka Sappou
62.
Senkuu: Originally I was going to conclude the match by throwing him into the sulfur nitric acid tray, but………this sort of man……should be buried courteously.
63.
Senkuu: When you run out of regret, then come.
Togashi: Hien……!! Your death won’t be futile.
64.
Wan Taaren: Wait!
Wan Taaren: The fight on the ladder ends here. In a situation where both sides have one fighter in the Daiishin Paaren Seiha’s Ryuubon Teimou Fight, then it changes in appearance.
65.
Togashi: !!
Toramaru: Wh…what---! Stones are falling from the ceiling---!!
66.
Togashi: Huh………!?
Wan Taaren: This is the Ryuubon Fukou Fight!!
(TN: Like the “Ryuubon Teimou”, “Ryuubon” stands for “Imperial Tray”. However, “Fukou” = “Floating Strikes”)
Wan Taaren: The stones that have been thrown down are Kaiun Rocks…their property is they can float on acid, but over time their largeness will become smaller as their dissolved by the sulfur nitric acid. All the Kaiun Rocks floating in the tray have about 15 minutes until they’ve melted to nothing…that’s the length of this match.
(TN: “Kaiun Rocks” or “Kaiungan” = “Ash Cloud Rocks”)
67.
Wan Taaren: In case we haven’t reached the end of the match, it will become impossible to escape from the pool of the tray…it is set that when all of the Kaiun Rocks have melted, the acid in the tray will grow in volume, first melting the ropes at the edge, then calculated so both of you together will fall headlong into the tray.
Toramaru: Ri…right, I get it. This is why we’ve climbed to the top of the statue…………and why this stupidly huge tray is suspended by these thin ropes…!!
Wan Taaren: Well, it’s best you descend. Even now the Kaiun Rocks are dissolving, worsening your footing.
Togashi: ………………..!!
68.
Toramaru: Be…Be careful, Togashi--!! You’ll become bone even if you just miss your footing----!!
Togashi: Uryaa---!!
69.
Togashi: Uo!!
Togashi: Ooh---!!
Toramaru: To…Togashi---!!
70.
Togashi: !?
Togashi: Uoo--!!
Togashi: Ha---!!
Togashi: Uh!!
71.
Senkuu: Let’s go.
72.
Togashi: Nuu!!
Toramaru: Ho…however I see this, Togashi has a disadvantage in this match.
Momotarou: Even if he took a lot of damage from Hien, Senkuu is a kenpou master. And conversely, Togashi has Kenka Sappou with his sole dosu!!
(TN: Though I really don’t know whether to treat it like a fighting technique like the kenpou styles, I made “Kenka Sappou” similar as such; its translation is “Brawling Killing Method”)
73.
Togashi: Keee---!!
Togashi: Chii!!
Senkuu: Fu, what did you see from the fight between me and Hien? There’s no art in being merely a daredevil; and do you think that you can win against me by brandishing a dosu?
Togashi: Ku!!
Togashi: !!
74.
Togashi: Uwacha----!!
Toramaru: To…Togashi---!!
Togashi: Ugugu……!!
Senkuu: I bare this much of a deep wound from your partner; he died as a sacrificial stone entrusting your victory. But that seems like an unobtainable dream.
75.
Senkuu: RIKUKE OUGI: SENJOU ROUCHUUKEN!!
Togashi: Guaha!!
76.
Senkuu: It’s best you apologize to Hien in hell.
Toramaru: Bare with it, Togsahi---!! If you’re not firm, it’s over---!!
77.
Toramaru: This…is bad, Togashi will…get killed. Mo…Momo, how could you be so calm---!!
Momotarou: Fu, what a guy: with what’s happening here, he’s smiling…that Togashi is smiling.
Toramaru: Wh…what……!?
Senkuu: We don’t have time: my next attack will end the match.
78.
Senkuu: Ha---!!
Togashi: How could you speed the match like this?
Togashi: Are you worried of our footing dissolving and getting smaller…………even a kenpou master seems to find his own life more precious than the match.
Senkuu: !!
79.
Togashi: I THROW MY LIFE AWAY FROM THE FLOWER----!! THAT’S THE KENKA SAPPOU OF THE MANLY TOGASHI GENJI----!!
(TN: Togashi actually said from the kanji that he threw it away from the start, but considering the “bushido” style of a life being like the fragile cherry blossom, “the start” has a reading here of “the flower”, therefore why I kept it as it was intended to be read instead of the proper “I threw my life away from the start”)
TN: They really should have kept his ladder. Change of scenery or not, Togashi would have found a way to break his way through regardless! It is weird that they would suddenly lower those rocks that would just dissolve anyway just at this level of the match, but considering how awesome the ending was (it's Togashi, you know it's going to be incredible), it was all worth it in the end. As I keep saying, his destructive but sacrificial nature is just the embodiment of Otokojuku...and why he'll probably last a bit longer against Senkuu...at least until next chapter!
