Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 76
Island of Fire: Engouchuu Fight
-> RTS Page for Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 76
With his hands crushed and his fingers pulverized, Rasetsu may finally be near wits end in his battle against Date! But the Shitennou may have more tricks up his sleeves...let alone the fight may be entering into it's true form!
Chp. 76: Island of Fire: Engouchuu Fight
176.
(Yeah, Date has Rasetsu down now)
177.
First-Year 1: It’s…over: Date’s thrusting fist of righteousness has directly smashed Rasetsu’s face---!!
(TN: Considering that it isn’t really an attack name that I really saw before, I directly translated “seikenzuki” as “thrusting fist of righteousness”)
First-Year 2: Rasetsu had both of his fists smashed by Date’s Kenshitei and he can’t even use his prided Toushi Kiha anymore!!
First-Year 3: This match is already over---!!
(TN: Um…what’s that guy doing to Hidemaro?)
Toramaru: Date, you’re amazing. You’re the best in Japan---!! You’ve…already done what you’ve pleased to. I’m numbed in your coolness---!!
Wan Taaren: It’s still early to be pleased. The 3rd fight of this Daiishin Paaren Seiha, the Sanshou Rokukyokusei Fight, is now making it’s true battleground.
First-Years: Wh…what? What is he saying……!?
178.
Date: Stop it; your fists can’t fight anymore. This time you’ll lose your life.
Rasetsu: Fu, your Hakyoku-ryuu Kenpou can do that much………but, did you think you won against me with what you’ve done?
179.
Rasetsu: With my Toushi Kiha, one finger is enough. I still have my thumbs.
180.
Rasetsu: Nuuu!!
Toramaru: Date, how could you have such terrible discretion? (scribbles) Switch with me~~(out loud) Isn’t it significant that he just has his thumbs!!
181.
Toramaru: Huh!!
First-Year 1: What is this guy!! He’s overtaking those stone pillars with his thumbs----!!
First-Year 2: Th…that destructive power is greater than what was smashed before---!!
182.
Rasetsu: SENKI TOUSHI KIHA!!
(TN: “Toushi Kiha” is the same as before, but the “Senki” part is “Thousand Command”)
183.
Rasetsu: Chi!!
Date: It’s useless: you can’t defeat me, no matter what your fist.
Rasetsu: UH!!
184.
Rasetsu: GUU!!
Date: At any rate, I didn’t realize you’re not dead…………
Rasetsu: ……………………
185.
Rasetsu: Fu…………………...my luck will shift when our field changes.
Rasetsu: You’ll see when it hits. At any rate, the match gods hasn’t abandoned me yet.
Date: !!
Toramaru: Wh…what—the island is starting to burn—!!
186.
First-Year 1: Wh…what—what’s going on--!!
First-Year 2: The water-level is rising and the fire-lit oil is starting to rise onto the island---!!
First-Year 3: A…at this rate, the entire island will be a sea of fire---!!
Wan Taaren: The oil isn’t starting to fill the island. The island is starting to sink.
First-Years: Wh…what---!!
Wan Taaren: The pedestal for the island is a propping Ensa Stone, which dissolves when the temperature rises. This fire that’s sinking the island is covering it’s surface, leaving only the stone pillars.
(TN: “Ensa Stone” or “Ensagan” = “Salt-Sandstone”; though “Sagan” is “sandstone”, the addition of the “salt” in it makes it something different, therefore why I decided to keep it as is)
Gekkou: The only place remaining for them to fight is on top of the pillars!!
Momotarou: This will be the truth fight of the Sanshou Rokukyokusei Fight!!
187.
Wan Taaren: This is Sanshou Rokukyokusei Fight’s Engouchuu!!
(TN: “Engouchuu” = “Flame-Moat Pillars”)
Rasetsu: Well then, at this rate, we’ll be completely burned.
Rasetsu: Ha!!
188.
Rasetsu: Fu, let me tell you what I meant: that match got I spoke of earlier hasn’t abandoned me yet.
189.
Rasetsu: KYOUKE GOSHOU ZUIKEN: KAKKUUSATSU!!
(TN: The “Kyouke” I mentioned earlier is the same: “Hard School”. “Goshou Zuiken” = “Flying Squirrel Thin Stamen Fist”, with the “flying squirrel” referring to “Petaurista leucogenys”, the “Japanese giant flying squirrel”, who actually has a particular trait of blocking off the vagina of a female after sex to enhance chance of fertilization, thereby the usage of “stamen” works; “Kakkuusatsu” = “Gliding Murder”)
Toramaru: Wh…what is he thinking---!! He’s jumping out though from that distance----!!
190.
Date: !!
191.
Toramaru: He…he flew out there…………!! As…if he was a flying squirrel……!!
Momotarou: Goshou Zuiken………!!
Commentary:
Goshou Zuiken…a kenpou whose origin is from Uhkeihan, the foremost area of large trees in China. Since the Uhkei are a minority people, they are a tree-top people living within the trees as a means to protect themselves from the multiracial and foreign enemies; with the natural outcome of mastering this kenpou they’ve thought out. Its merit is the image of a fist that imitates the movements of flying squirrels, with a specialty of fighting high in groves of trees. Because of the terror of the fierce attack power from freely moving through the air, their lands have never been approached by outsiders.
-From “The Marvelous Uhkeihan”, Minmei Publishing
192.
Rasetsu: GOSHOU ZUIKEN: JOUBAKUKAN!!
(TN: “Joubakukan” = “Cord-Binding Rings”)
Date: !!
193.
Rasetsu: With this, that makes it match………!!
Date: Fufu……I can finally get serious.
(End of Volume 8)
TN: I know it may sound rather obvious saying it now, but in some ways I did notice that there was a bit of a switch-up in how the fighters were presented in this fight compared to the last couple Paaren Seiha chapters. In the first two, the first guard was always the one with the strange battle style (Henshouki with his pinwheel saw, Dokugantetsu's parallel bar performance) while the main fighter seems to be more serious and deadly in one way or another (need we go into Manjimaru or Senkuu again?) But this time it's the exact opposite: Baron Dino actually felt more conventional with his whip and bird show...while Rasetsu just gets weirder and weirder, first by fighting with fingers, and now turning into a flying squirrel! (though...why would the Chinese have a style named after a Japanese flying squirrel) Amazingly, of course, Date always remains being....well, Date, and somehow always seems to find a way to either keep going rather easily or just get bored while smashing his opponents...but it's Date, we know how powerful he is. Though somehow, with his latest situation, I wouldn't be surprised if Toramaru finally gets a turn...
