Eikei: Wind, fire, earth, water: I use nature to my advantage, generally assisting me to make victory my own. That’s the essence of Chakuke-ryuu Kenpou!
Momotarou: Right: Gekkou calculated the time variation of the lightning flash and the sound of thunder, predicting the time it would strike the god-statue. That’s ten seconds……!!

TN: It's sort of strange: this chapter in a way (combined with the last couple) is probably what I had expected from Gekkou from his first introduction in the Kyoura Daiyon Kyousatsu to be all the time...but sort of didn't become until now. In the last arc, I didn't mind Gekkou, but he did seem a tad dull with his martial arts style compared to more dynamic characters like the rest of the Sanmenken and Date. (though the ice rotation attack and the weird armor were cool) But seeing Gekkou fighting with Eikei taking advantage and calculating while holding off and waiting for the moment to strike, even if it's ten-seconds vs. ten-seconds, just finally showed that Miyashita knew was he was finally doing with his character. The whole matter of how Gekkou used the lightning to find the opening and hit his opponent was a tad confusing but here's how I saw it: due to lightning being faster than thunder (with the "speed of light" faster than the "speed of sound"), Gekkou was able to use the strike of the lightning on the rod and react the moment it hit as opposed to the moment the thunder struck down, which would have been the natural reaction for someone to move. (particularly with the spikes beneath their fighting place) and therefore giving him first move over Eikei. You'd never expect a martial artist to be so technical...but I guess that's one of the great matters regarding this chapter...and in some ways Otokojuku in general.
