Commentary:
Bentei Senpuu Daisharin…this was a phantom kenpou which practically used the custom of the pigtail in the early days of China’s Qing Dynasty. Training was said to be hanging a heavy 100-kan, 20-sun squared Dakoutetsu to train the hair and neck. To grasp the kenpou, they are demanded to lift up at least 3 Dakoutetsu and have the ability to just swing it. Incidentally, the expression of “Don’t swing your head around debt” has it’s origin in those who abandoned their training partway for not being able to buy Dakoutetsu due to extraordinary cost.

(TN: For starters, the “pigtail/braid” that is mentioned with this kenpou is known in Japanese as a “benpatsu”, which literally stands for the traditional Chinese braided pigtail used in many depictions of the country. Second, “Dakoutetsu” = “Dripped Steel”; I actually was thinking of merely calling it that or maybe “Da Steel” due to the first kanji and “koutetsu” being, obviously, “steel”, but it really didn’t feel right so I ended up keeping the original name for it. As for the “don’t swing your head around debt” part, the full actual expression is “Shakkin de kubi ga mawaranaku naru”; I literally translated it for the commentary’s sake but basically it generally stands for “to become deep in debt”)

TN: Alright, I need to make a complaint but it's one that feels legitimate: what was with all of the approval of Baron Dino in this chapter? Sure I like him and his fight with Chindou Taishi wasn't too bad aside from how powerful his opponent was...but does anyone on Otokojuku side even remember what happened!? Dino was skilled but was easily outmatched by Date in one chapter...heck, I still remember Date's "I'm just too strong" comment! How in the world could these characters suddenly change around what they saw of Baron Dino in the Paaren Seiha (of which only really Toramaru, Momo, Gekkou and Date himself saw) and see him as that powerful and respectful? Look, this isn't against Dino, but I just sometimes think that memories change a lot the moment an enemy becomes an ally. On the other hand...Chidou Taishi's hair abilities are as sick as heck and he speaks for himself in his abilities and his weird sense of honor. (well compared to Shuten Douji he's more honorable)
