Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 108
The Crystal Ball of Destiny
-> RTS Page for Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 108
Who could have predicted the victory of Otokojuku's Senkuu over Olympus' Achilles (well aside from Otokojuku themselves)? But with the enemy forces in a quandry, the future may become brighter...and much murkier for Otokojuku!
Chp. 108: The Crystal Ball of Destiny
64.
Senkuu: I will save your life. I don’t like useless killings.
Toramaru: That’s...a big comeback for Senkuu---!!
Togashi: You did it, Senkuu---!!
Senkuu: Hurry and take him so he won’t be eaten by the Gousou Birds.
65.
(I guess the other Olympians don’t want Achilles back)
66.
Zeus: Achilles the Unicycle was negligent. He has betrayed the expectations of Zeus, the chief god of the Olympus 16-Battle Gods……
(TN: “Zeus” in this case = “Holy Crouching Elk”)
Olympus Fighter 1: Otokojuku…I’ve never heard of them. Those guys easily handled him.
Olympus Fighter 2: We won’t act like him ahead.
Olympus Fighter 3: The next fight will certainly be mine.
Olympus Fighter 4: No, it’ll be mine.
Zeus: Prophet Delphi, can you look at the next match?
(TN: “Delphi” = “Meandering Thin Lapis-Lazure”)
Delphi: As you request, Zeus-sama.
67.
Delphi: A person’s destiny is a thing that is determined from the moment they are born into this world. No one is able to oppose the thread of destiny.
Delphi: Similarly, destiny has determined that we of the Olympus 16-Battle Gods will certainly win this Tenchou Gorin Daibukai……
Delphi: Let us look.
68.
Delphi: This is the next match’s whereabouts.
Delphi: This technique is the Bloody Cross…………………So then, it’s your turn, Gemini.
(TN: “Gemini” = “Luxurious Bewitching Duo”)
Zeus: But he’s the guy who possesses a gruesome as ever fighting method; this man you’ve stated………!!
Gemini: Fu, our chief god Zeus-sama, the omniscient and omnipresent, I will not betray your expectation.
69.
Toramaru: Are your wounds alright, Senkuu…no, Senkuu-senpai!!
Togashi: But we were chilled thinking of what could happen for a moment!!
Momotarou: Get treated in the first-aid center inside the helicopter. J and Dino should be in there too.
Senkuu: Be careful: those guys are somehow different from the enemies until now. I feel a strange power from them.
Momotarou: ……………………
Toramaru: Well leave them to us!!
Toramaru: Th…this time it’s my turn, no matter what anyone says---!!
Togashi: What are you saying you idiot!! I’ve decided that it’s my turn----!!
Voice: Out of the way; we’re no longer in a dimension where you can use both of your quarreling kenpos.
Togashi: Wha……!?
70.
Togashi & Toramaru: MA…MANJIMARU---!!
Togashi: Ho…hold on a moment, what do you mean that we can’t use our skills?
Manjimaru: He…hey, you shouldn’t become inexcusable whenever a senpai speaks.
Toramaru: !?
Toramaru: Ah…Hu~~~h?
71.
Toramaru: Wh…what, he threw some small pebble into the air…………?
Togashi: Uh.
Togashi: Wh…what~~! Lo…look~~~~!!
Togashi: Ma…Manjimaru has gone to that distant battleground when we weren’t looking-----!!
Rasetsu: Manjimaru, one of the Otokojuku Shitennou who has mastered Mouryouken, feared as the historically strongest darkness kenpou of Chinese kenpou…it’s needless to worry about him.
(TN: Reminder: “Mouryouken” = “Fist of Ghosts and Spirits”)
Momotarou: ……………………
72.
Gemini: My name is Gemini, one of the Olympus 16-Battle Gods!
73.
Gemini: Fu, how pitiful…some destiny may be awaiting for you in this match.
Manjimaru: My destiny…………!?! What are you joking about!!
Toramaru: What is this guy, introducing himself while strumming some harp!!
Togashi: Don’t worry about that, Manjimaru!! Knock down that conceited snob~~~~!!
Manjimaru: ………
Manjimaru: Why aren’t you taking a stance? Is this the place to strum that harp?
Gemini: Fu, I have no need to take stance. Please look closely around you.
Manjimaru: Huh…!!
74.-75.
Manjimaru: Wh…what~~~!! The human pillars have all turned to stone---!!
Manjimaru: How…stupid………!! Wh…what exactly is this…!?
Gemini: Fufu, it’s not just the human pillars; how about if you look at your own feet.
76.
Manjimaru: Uh!!
Manjimaru: Gugu!!
Gemini: Yes, you are turning to stone too, just like the surrounding human pillars. You won’t be able to move anymore.
Gemini: This is Olympus: Stone Metamorphosis!! I can already see this match.
77.
Toramaru: Hey, what’s going on? That Manjimaru, somehow his appearance seems strange.
Togashi: Right, he’s been like that since earlier, he can’t move even suddenly.
Toramaru: Hey, Manjimaru, what were you doing jumping out there~~~!!
Togashi: Right!! Shouldn’t you send out an attack to that transvestite quickly----!!
Manjimaru: Wh…what…………
Manjimaru: Don’t those guys get it: like those human pillars that turned to stone around me, I’m going to turn to stone like them!!
78.
Manjimaru: Nuga!!
Gemini: Fufu, you’ve completely become stone, with your face left. Only your mouth is moving.
Gemini: Do you have some parting words?
Manjimaru: …………………………
Gemini: Seems you don’t. So then, I’ll be opening the gate to hell.
79.
Manjimaru: Wh…why…!? Why did he continue to play his harp until the moment he’s ending this……!?
Manjimaru: And further, though he has a sword on his waist, he’s using a leg weapon……
Gemini: Die!! You were a bad opponent!
Toramaru: What’s wrong, Manjimaru--!! Wh…why can’t you move---!
Togashi: He’ll kill Manjimaru---!!
Manjimaru: Perhaps it’s his tone quality………!!
80.
Manjimaru: HMPH!!
Gemini: !!
Gemini: Uh!!
81.
Gemini: Huh!!
Manjimaru: It was…………
Manjimaru: Ha!!
82.
Manjimaru: Your Kakuonpa Saimin which utilized the harp’s tone quality was dangerous.
(TN: “Kakuonpa Saimin” = “Disturbed Sound Wave Hypnosis”)
Gemini: Fufu, splendid, you’ve done well recognizing it. However, you’ve prepared hidden needles in your mask………………!!
Commentary:
Kakuonpa Saimin…a kind of hypnotic effect which utilizes an effect that is presented to the brain of a human through a wavelength of sound. By altering sound’s frequency, it stimulates the front of the brain, making appear various illusionary conditions and freely controlling the mind of an opponent.
Incidentally, these days it is performed in an arms race between the US and USSR on fighting methods which have hidden an unknown power that surpasses the ABC Weapons.
-From “The Dark History of Operations in the General Public”, Minmei Publishing
(TN: “ABC Weapons” = “Atomic/Biological/Chemical”)
83.
Gemini: However, regardless of your struggling, your destiny has already been decided: you will die by my Bloody Cross!!
Manjimaru: Destiny………
Manjimaru: Let me teach you: destiny is a thing that I’ll cut through with my own hands!!
TN: After the coolness of the Achilles/Senkuu fight we get...well, a weird but typical storyline about "defeating destiny" with the awesome Manjimaru...and...um...yeah...Gemini. As much as I love Manjimaru even when he fought J, I found it a tad bizarre that he has to fight someone like Gemini in his next real battle in one of those usual storylines about destiny and how we're all bound to it and someone destroying it...I mean it's cool when it's done right and I trust Miyashita and Manjimaru to deliver, it's just more or less the set-up, particularly that...yeah, Gemini. Though at least I do admit that his attack strategy with the stone-illusions was freaky...(as was the reference to the Cold War in the Minmei reference) I guess I'll just bare through this fight due to it being Manjimaru though...
