Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 109
Gemini’s Secret!!
-> RTS Page for Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 109
Initially caught within a dark illusion cast by Olympus' Gemini, Manjimaru has escaped it and is prepared to face him in full on combat! But the young warrior may be double the danger than even the Otokojuku fighter can handle!
Chp. 109: Gemini’s Secret!!
85.
Manjimaru: Now it’s my turn. Let me show you the heights of Mouryouken…!!
86.-87.
Manjimaru: MOURYOUKEN: GENMYOU BUNSHINHAKU!!
(TN: “Genmyou Bunshinhaku” = “Dark Illusion: Cloned Partitions”)
Toramaru: There it is~~!! Manjimaru’s Special Technique: Genmyou Bunshinhaku!!
Togashi: He’s created five clones of himself with movements of tremendous speed~~~~!!
88.
Gemini: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 all together.
Gemini: Fu, five clones, you have quite the taijutsu.
Toramaru: Wh…what’s with that guy, he isn’t moving an inch.
Togashi: That idiot, that’s not it: he’s just really surprised with his strength~~~!!
89.
Manjimaru: Ha---!!
Gemini: Hoo, even your hand blade is quite sharp.
(TN: “Hand Blade” is in reference to “shutou”, which is the usage of the side of a hand like a blade)
Gemini: However, it’s impossible to defeat Gemini, one of the Olympus 16-Battle Gods, at that level.
90.-91.
Manjimaru: !!
Gemini: OLYMPUS: SPIRAL EIGHT!!
Manjimaru: Th…that’s…………!!
Toramaru: Wh…what---!! Gemini has multiplied in mid-air---!!
92.
Togashi: Ma…Manjimaru---!!
93.
Manjimaru: He…has 8 clones…!!
Gemini: Fu, do you understand there is an above that’s above you?
Gemini: It seemed that our fist-skill is even.
Gemini: Therefore, it’s simply a numerical theorem: 5 vs. 8.
Gemini: So we know which of us has advantage without even saying it.
Manjimaru: I…don’t believe this stupidity…………!! Even I, who has been stated to have mastered the peak of taijutsu, have a limit of five clones………!! Those are eight clones……………!
94.-95.
Gemini: OLYMPUS: SPIRAL EIGHT!!
Manjimaru: Gaha---!!
Toramaru: Ma…Manjimaru---!!
Togashi: N…no--!! It’s as he said: even with even skill, he can’t win if it’s 5 vs. 8---!!
96.
Manjimaru: Kuu!!
Gemini: That damage now means you can’t use your Genmyou Bunshinhaku. With it 8 vs. 1, this seems like its match.
Manjimaru: ………………………
Rasetsu: He’s a man whose pride is high…………A technique that exceeds his own with a youngster like him surely is making him extremely humiliated.
97.
Gemini: My next attack will be an eternal farewell for you. But you’re the first who’s made blood flow from me with my scratch, Manjimaru…!!
Manjimaru: !!
Manjimaru: What’s going on with that cheek wound…!? There are those without a scratch among those who have it in the 8 clones………………!!
Manjimaru: ……………!! Suppose that Gemini is……………!
98.
Gemini: Goodbye, Manjimaru! You should speak of my strength and beauty in hell!!
Toramaru: N…no~~~!!
Togashi: Ma…Manjimaru’s been defeated---!!
Manjimaru: I don’t think so, Gemini. I’ve realized the true form of your technique!!
99.
Manjimaru: I don’t have this on my head for show and whim!!
Gemini: !!
100.
Gemini: Huh!!
“Gemini”: Watch out, big brother--!!
Toramaru: Wh…what---!! Bi…big brother---! What exactly is going on---!!
Gemini Older: Ku!!
101.
Manjimaru: Both of you are really twins.
102.
Manjimaru: One does four clones; together eight. That’s the true nature of your Spiral Eight.
Gemini Older: Fu, your insight is fearful.
Gemini Younger: In Greek myth, Gemini is tied to the “twin constellation”. As the name suggests, we have a united brotherly fist.
(TN: When he explains the “Gemini” connection, he refers to it as “Gemini to wa Futagoza”. “Futagoza” is the name of the Gemini constellation in Japanese, so I ended up using a literal translation there as opposed to saying “Gemini is the constellation Gemini” as if I repeated it over and over)
Toramaru: T…twins---!! Th…those two were fighting dirty---! Manjimaru, I’m going to back you now---!!
Manjimaru: Don’t come---!!
Toramaru: Huh!!
103.
Manjimaru: I won’t permit it. No matter what it takes, I’m defeating both of them…
Gemini Younger: Fuffuffu, the predicition really is correct…
Gemini Older: You can only die by our Bloody Cross!!
TN: Let me start off with this: no, I don't really know the difference between "Genmyou Bunshinhaku" being used in this chapter by Manjimaru and "Genmyou Juushinhaku" used back during his fight with J. Juushinhaku specifically stated that it was ten illusion warriors, yet Bunshinhaku seems more like they are actual clones created by the usage of his own speed and only up to the number of five. Therefore, my guess is that "Bunshinhaku" is faster and therefore why they seem more real...and why Manjimaru can do less of them than he did with Juushinhaku. (which was "one fighter/nine illusions") That's about all I can really say on that...though it really doesn't ruin the chapter because we saw that Manjimaru could still do more and Gemini had to be twins to prove that they could do "eight". (I also liked Miyashita sort of making sure we knew which twin was which with the cheek wound...but the next chapter suddenly no longer has that so it gets a bit harder and I go a bit with facial structures...or something, maybe I should go over it to make sure.) But other than the Juushinhaku/Buushinhaku situation, it was still a fun chapter.
