TN: And thus we end the third year of Otokojuku...with a tournament that is less than a third of the way complete! (yeah, it's a long tournament arc) The chapter pretty much finishes things off with Shu Kougen by finally letting him realize what idiots his so called masters back at Gandhara was, but at the same time it's a bizarre balancing act: as much of a jerk as the elders are, he really has no choice but to stay lest he ends up destroying an ancient fighting sect that he just took over really recently. It is obvious that maybe he was a tad overambitious regarding exposing their abilities to the world but ultimately Kougen probably just wanted to show superiority without realizing that all that seclusion and show ended up screwing Gandhara as much as it did in tempering them to be the warriors that they are now. Besides, maybe if those elders died, perhaps Kougen could end up fixing whatever problem the sect has...but then they'd need to have new elders or else they wouldn't be a certified martial arts sect. On the other hand...at least we're done the prelims and we can finally have the glory of Momo's final blow and seeing Togashi and Toramaru toss Hassam aside as they prepare to head to the true tournament. They deserve it...though now one wonders who the heck Edajima is going to send as their "secret weapons" to help with the main tournament finally up next...and the main mission still the elimination of Toudou!
