Stuck in a transformed battlefield, Hien has his work cut out for him facing the latest Pharaoh Sphinx fighter, who can twist his body like he has no bones! But that's just the least of his many new problems!

Chp. 157: Dusk of Amarna

129.
Toramaru: P – S Hishougi: Dusk of Amarna---!?
Togashi: Wh…what is he going to do from that strange form----!!
Neskhons: Fufu: Amarna is a word which means “the legendary red desert”…when the evening sun falls, the heavens and earth are entirely dyed the color of crimson blood, inviting travelers passing through there to the world of the dead. You too will have your entire body dyed deep red and die by the Dusk of Amarna!!

130.
(Title Page…yeah, very foreboding for Hien but…why is Momo there?)

131.
Neskhons: LET’S GO---!!
Togashi: Aah!! Wh…what is th…that---! He’s spinning his body like a top and soaring into the sky---!!

132.
Hien: !!
Hien: Ku!!

133.
Hien: Nuu!!
Momotarou: A dreadful technique…!! With fast consecutive attacks from his tremendous rotation, Hien has to turn in the direction of the artillery battle!
Date: Furthermore, the tips of his toes have the destructive power to smash up even the stone posts………!!
Neskhons: Kukkukku: you’re cornered now; it’s best that I wait for your physical strength to be exhausted, but that will take a bit of time. We—ll, shall I change my strategy?

134.
Hien: !!
Hien: ………!!
Toramaru: Wh…what---!!
Togashi: He…he’s destroying the foothold posts one after another---!!

135.
Neskhons: Kukkukku: that’s good: what remains now is just the duo of the post you’re standing on and the post I’m standing on. You can’t move from there anymore.
Hien: Is that fine…………!? This is the same for you; no, at this distance, it’s become a greater advantage for me with my senbon than for you who’s come to can’t use their unusual taijutsu.
Neskhons: Kuku, it’s natural to think that…!! Because you don’t know the true terror of the body I possess yet.

136.-137.
Hien: HUH!?
Hien: Y….you………!!
Neskhons: Realize: this is the true meaning of the Dusk of Amarna!!

138.
Toramaru: Wh….what---!! Wh…what was that now---!?
Togashi: I…don’t believe it: ho…how could this somehow come to my eyes!! A…At this moment, I saw that guy’s arm seemingly s…stretching----!!
Momotarou: N…no, this isn’t a hallucination: his arm actually stretched.
Toramaru: So…so then, this guy’s body isn’t just flexible………!!
Neskhons: Yes: at the end of my long training in the pickling jar, the joints of my limbs were removed; I’ve come to be able to do it at will even at this length!!

139.
Neskhons: Nun!!
Hien: Uh!!

140.
Hien: Gufu!!
Hien: …………………!!
Neskhons: Kuku: with this, you shouldn’t be able to run, even to the sky.
Togashi: HI…HIEN---!!

141.
Neskhons: HAIYA---!!
Hien: Ku!!

142.
Toramaru: Th…this is bad: Hi…Hien is being cut up---!!
Togashi: Th…this is becoming a desperate situation with that monster-constitution rascal opponent----!!

143.
Neskhons: Kukkukku: it seems the time has come for the Dusk of Amarna. Now your body has correctly been dyed in red blood; you seem like you’ve been bathed in a sunset.

144.
Neskhons: N---?
Neskhons: What’s with that behavior? You’ve turned your fighting uniform inside-out at this critical moment……………!?

145.
Hien: THANK YOU, EVERYONE…AND, FAREWELL……
Toramaru: Wh…what’s going on? Hi…Hien is wearing his fighting uniform inside-out---!!
Togashi: And…yet, what is the character on his back---!?
Toramaru: Ra…Raiden, Gekkou, As…the same Sanmenken, the two of you would know----!!
Toramaru: Huh!!

146.
Toramaru: Ra…Raiden…………!! And…and with Gekkou………! Wh…what’s with yo….you two…and…those tears……………!?
Raiden: That there is a Sekikoui…………!! It shows the idea of a kenpou school being resigned to their own death and that they’re launching their final attack; in other words, this is their burial clothing…!!
(TN: “Sekikoui” = “Red Death Garment”; the kanji that Hien has on the jacket is the “kou” of “Sekikouki”, which is “death” or “die”)
Raiden: The next attack will be Hien’s final special technique he will show to this world………!!
Momotarou: Wh…what---!!

147.
Toramaru: HI…HIEN---!!
Neskhons: …………!?
Hien: This senbon smeared with blood will make you a fellow traveler to the other side. Let me show you: the final ultimate justice of Choujinken…………!!
(TN: When it is recited in a technique, I will be using the term “Saishuu Kyokugi”, but when Hien is speaking of it now, I translate it to the term it stands for: “the final ultimate justice”)

TN: I had to divert my eyes away for a moment in this chapter...did we really need to see Hien shirtless? OK...aside from that, for the most part it was mostly set-up for what seems to be a big finish on Hien's side with his potential death. And Neskhons...yeah, he had an interesting strategy with his top transformation destroying the posts and the whole "stretching" bit was bizarre but worked in the realms of this series. (for a moment I thought he turned into Luffy...but I doubt pickling would make him that flexible...then again he was flexible enough) Not much else to say...except be prepared for anything when Hien gives his all next time!

I saw another reference to Jojo (or vice-verca): the whole Neskhons stretching thing reminded me of the ripple stretching that Zeppeli did and i could swear for a moment i felt like Neskhons was one of the pillar men (he's actually a mix between the first pillar men, i think his name was Santana, and the vampire that Santana ate). The last one was also bald :P.

Btw it's funny cause in episode 5 of the anime Togashi, Hidemaro and the two other decide to hide their faces and they wear those crazy masks and stuff. So Hidemalu is wearing a child Goku's mask :D (i think the other two are also references to other live-action or manga heroes, you might know them; i also think that Togashi wears the same "mask" as that guy from Tatsunako vs Capcom). Later on in the same episode Edajima was reading Shonen Jump (i guess) and on the back of it (or the cover) there's one of the Jojos :D. In episode four they go to this disco club, who's called Disco Jump, which i also think is a reference to Shonen Jump :P

There is always a weird connection between the Toei anime and certain Jump series. For one weird thing, the Otokojuku anime wasn't just done by Toei...but premiered literally the week after the final, last episode of Hokuto no Ken. Meanwhile...not quite so sure if there was any connection between Neskhons and the Pillar Men, particularly since JoJo was probably running by this point and who knows if Miyashita and Araki even knew each other or were collaborating or anything.

And yeah...I remember a scene of Edajima reading Jump in the manga...true to the series.
